  1. Who? The thousands upon thousands, even millions of consumers who represent >90 percent of the market and know not a thing about "tri band LTE." AJ
  2. Worry not, guys. The person responsible for that post is just the resurrected form of a recently banned member who cursed out the staff in The Forums. He will be dealt with shortly. AJ
  3. Have some of you forgotten that S4GRU is not just a forum? http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-355-teaser-whats-this-aboot-the-blackberry-z30-being-single-band-eh/ AJ
  4. Go back and read my post. I know that many of you have disturbingly close connections with your handsets, but you must understand that they do not have feelings. That should have been a dead giveaway right there. AJ
  5. Okay, here is the scoop. The G2 received FCC authorization for tri band LTE, but authorization does not mean that all capabilities must be utilized. In the end, Sprint has opted to disable band 26 LTE 800 and band 41 TD-LTE 2600 because it does not want to hurt the Galaxy Note 3's feelings. AJ
  6. Yes, we can when we all follow rules and good practices. AJ
  7. No, that is your responsibility. A single 1080 x 1920 screenshot that has not been rescaled to a more sensible resolution is already pushing it in terms of forum etiquette. Putting two or three in a single post is off the deep end. When I see full size 1080 x 1920 screenshots, I may just start removing them, as may other staff members. So, it is your choice: scale them down to reasonable size or potentially lose them. AJ
  8. I am not buying that. Have HTC users on AT&T and T-Mobile reported lesser RF performance compared to that of Samsung users? If not, this is more likely a Sprint focused issue. Honestly, I think HTC may have challenges implementing Sprint's boutique configuration of hybrid CDMA2000/LTE, especially with band 25 LTE 1900. AJ
  9. Nope. Most buyers do not care about SD card storage or battery capacity. They have plenty of onboard storage and sufficient battery to make it through the day. Additionally, you just created a scope shift in your post because you bring up that inadequate marketing is the cause of poor sales, then shift the blame to lack of SD cards and smaller batteries. But that blame reflects your own preferences, not those of most consumers, and mainstream consumers are who drive the bus. AJ
  10. I think in Rapid City it is un-Sprint limited data. AJ
  11. How would an RF signal booster ameliorate your home broadband data cap? Do you actually use that much data on your handsets while inside the house? AJ
  12. Before you post, please read for context at least the 10 previous posts. AJ
  13. For when your S Pen is spent... AJ
  14. Uh, read the explanations above. You would likely pay more on contract than off contract. If Google Play sells the Nexus 5 for $349 off contract but you buy it from Sprint on contract for $199 plus monthly subsidy, then you effectively pay $599 for a $349 handset. That is terrible arbitrage. AJ
  15. Nope. You still miss the point. You preserve your subsidized upgrade that you can use for a truly high dollar handset to keep or sell for a tidy profit. AJ
  16. Guys, your financial analysis is specious. If the Nexus 5 is sold via Google Play for $349 and is sold on contract via Sprint for $199, you are better off taking the unsubsidized deal. Otherwise, the subsidy that you effectively pay every month is going toward a $349 handset that is being treated the same as a $599 handset. And, honestly, if you cannot swing the $349 out of pocket because of lack of available cash, you might want to reconsider whether you are playing above your pay grade in the smartphone stakes. AJ
  17. While iPCS did drag its feet on EV-DO, it was just a few areas that were left CDMA1X only. Seemingly, most iPCS legacy sites did get EV-DO before Sprint acquired iPCS. AJ
  18. Well, CDMA1X is "3G," so both of you mean EV-DO. And, yes, some rural sites in iPCS affiliate markets never got the EV-DO overlay. Parts of Nebraska and Pennsylvania are the two areas that immediately come to mind. With Network Vision, those sites will go directly from CDMA1X only to CDMA1X/EV-DO/LTE. AJ
  19. Would it be better if it covered Les Miles? AJ
  20. Actually, the Jutland peninsula is about the same size as Florida. Plus, in Zealand, it has some "balls." I think Florida has been castrated. That might be part of the problem. AJ
