  1. I have a degree in geography, so I am aware. I am just giving you a hard time. But prior to the advent of the Big 12, Lincoln was -- surprisingly enough -- the largest "college town" in the Big 8. You should know, though, that the proper pronunciation for you folks is "rual." AJ
  2. And the limp wang at that. Get some Viagra. Be more like Denmark -- the erect wang of Europe. AJ
  3. There will be no movement in the One Up program until someone recognizes this clever quip: AJ
  4. Best Buy is circling the drain. I went in this morning to buy "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD" for the Wii U. Seemingly because it is also a digital download, it is not available in any Best Buy store. It certainly is not available online from Best Buy. My local store is reduced to devoting a huge center area now to handsets and tablets. Music is long gone. But even video games and Blu-ray now are marginalized due to downloads and streaming. I had to go to Target to buy "The Wind Waker HD" in store. AJ
  5. Game. Set. Match. Mr. S4GRU advances to the semifinals. AJ

  7. For at least "tentpole" handsets, 5 GHz Wi-Fi became standard about a year and a half ago. AJ
  8. I thought trailers attracted tornadoes, not blizzards. AJ
  9. digiblur is exactly right. PRLs do not have the granular control that many people think they do. Thus, a few different PRLs are all that are truly needed. But Sprint has far too many. And some of those ACQ indices could be sharpened up, no doubt. As soon as I am finally named Spectrum Czar, I will appoint digiblur as PRL Commissioner. AJ
  10. Sprint is redoing its entire network -- every site -- in one initiative. No other wireless operator is doing likewise. So, the parallels to VZW, AT&T, or even T-Mobile are not that relevant. AJ

Hello, "undue basement." You... ...ignal is ...reaking u... AJ
  12. No, if he does not list the market(s) where he tested the device, he is doing a disservice to consumers. That is shoddy reporting. Wireless coverage is all about location, location, location. AJ
  13. Nothing in that review shows that the Note 3 "should have been tri band." Furthermore, that "reviewer" should not be dealing with Sprint devices, as he clearly has a prejudice against Sprint. Maybe he lives in a market with overall poor Sprint coverage, thus should use a different wireless provider in the first place. Or maybe he lives in a market that is still in the early stages of LTE deployment, hence is not even close to full LTE site density. Without knowing his location, we cannot say for certain. But I can practically guarantee that this "reviewer" is not an S4GRU sponsor, so he lacks knowledge of Network Vision progress in his market. My guess is that he does not care. Because of his negative bias toward Sprint, he expects the network to be automatically peachy once Network Vision has started and does not cut Sprint any slack to get Network Vision finished before he renders judgment. 14. I have written enough about Omaha in the past, so I will just poach one of my own posts: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4333-atts-conquest-continues-with-long-lines-wireless/?p=177387 And here is another somewhat relevant post (from earlier in this very thread): http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2495-network-visionlte-market-west-iowanebraska-market-omahacouncil-bluffslincoln/?p=164626 AJ
  15. No, S4GRU wins because we made the correct call that the Sprint variant Note 3 would be single band and stuck to our guns, even when the naysayers did not want to believe it and grasped at straws to prove otherwise. AJ
  16. No. That is either an RF performance difference between iPhone models, placebo effect, or some other variable. PRLs affect CDMA1X/EV-DO acquisition. They do not dictate LTE acquisition, as 3GPP does not use PRLs. AJ
  17. Why do these apps need to be updated, even overhauled seemingly every 90 days? It is just change for the sake of change; newer must be better. Just leave well enough alone for a couple of years... AJ
