But are you pure enough to use a white phone? AJ -
T-Mobile LTE & Network Discussion
WiWavelength replied to CriticalityEvent's topic in General Topics
Yeah, 128 kbps is huge. A huge waste of time. If you like that, then you like CDMA1X. So, stop complaining. AJ- 4,425 replies

LG G2 -- the first Sprint tri band LTE handset (was "LG Optimus G2")
WiWavelength replied to Thai's topic in LG
Criminy, can people give it a rest and stop rehashing the same concerns over and over again? Because this thread has become the song that never ends... Instead, read my article: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-350-bande-à-part-lg-g2-is-the-first-announced-sprint-tri-band-lte-handset/ The FCC OET authorizations were revealed over two months ago, and I wrote my article over a month ago. The RF hardware contained within the G2 has been well established for weeks. End of story. Yes, certain LTE bands may be disabled at release. Who knows? No amount of ad nauseam discussion is going to determine nor alter that. But on the Wi-Fi front, give me a break. The G2 is 802.11ac Wi-Fi capable. AJ -

The G2 does lack Wi-Fi. Instead, it comes with some oceanfront property in Arizona. Some of you are too gullible... AJ -
Change 4G symbol on android devices?
WiWavelength replied to Synovialbasher's topic in OS'es/ROM's & Themes
It is not a modem, per se. It is one of many protocols defining modulation schemes and signaling (baud) rates. In those ways, dial up modems are/were very much like our RF airlinks. AJ -

Little boys, can you say "modem"? Good. Now, say "dial up modem." AJ -

The huge G2 screenshot is fine in its original post. But do not include it in your quotes, folks. AJ -
Samsung Galaxy Mega (TRI-BAND) [SPH-L600]
WiWavelength replied to MartialRanger23's topic in Samsung
How is this news? The guy just posts some stock photos of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and says the handset is headed to Sprint. We did basically the same thing and more with our article a month ago. AJ -

Teaser: iPhone gets two new models but no LTE band *trifecta* on Sprint
WiWavelength commented on WiWavelength's blog entry in The Wall
Pointing a finger at Sprint is misplaced. Most popular VZW devices sold over the past two years -- iPhone 5, Droid DNA, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One, et al. -- are single band LTE. VZW dual band LTE devices did not show up until earlier this year. So, a great many VZW users are going to be stuck on only band 13 LTE 750 for as long as they continue to use those devices. AJ -
Yeah, if SignalCheck Pro is now available at Walgreens, Mike is really moving up in the world. AJ

LG G2 -- the first Sprint tri band LTE handset (was "LG Optimus G2")

I am sorry, but this tells us nothing that we have not already known for two months. Do not bother asking technical or network questions of customer service. The reps know jack squat, often providing inaccurate info. AJ -

Wake me up when I can get a Samsung handset with the kitchen sink. A toilet would be nice, too, so that I can TakeWiz. AJ

HTC One max [Tri-Band] (was "HTC "Phablet" aka "T6"")
WiWavelength replied to themuffinman's topic in HTC
Does that mean I can get the five finger discount on the HTC One Max? AJ -
No, thank you. If I am going to buy a Nexus 5, I want the less expensive 16 GB variant. Even 8 GB would be fine and dandy to save another $50. I have lots of money for devices. But I do not carry around GBs of games and "Breaking Bad" pop culture crap, so let me save that $50 or $100 and donate it to a high minded cause -- S4GRU. AJ

ClearWire unlimted/unthrottled $49.99 vs $54.99 (new vs existing?)
WiWavelength replied to MyTravels's topic in WiMax
It should be. Pay for what you use. And there should be adequate infrastructure and competition to keep those metered rates low. But in this current oligopolist, obstructionist system, all of that seems to be a pipe dream -- pardon the pun. AJ -
Has LTE roaming started?
WiWavelength replied to lil_jimmy_norton's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
That is probably due to good old Samsung "enginerring." AJ -
ClearWire unlimted/unthrottled $49.99 vs $54.99 (new vs existing?)
WiWavelength replied to MyTravels's topic in WiMax
Not really. With a metered use commodity, cost provides the checks and balances. And money tends to be quite effective in that regard. During the winter, for example, I keep it a little chilly in my house because I do not want to pay hundreds of additional dollars per month to my natural gas provider. With an unlimited use commodity, there are no checks and balances. And therein lies the problem for so many in our society because they lack self discipline. They view the world as their oyster. Everyone else, be damned. As I have stated numerous times, though a certain faction may not like hearing this, people need limits. Unlimited anything leads to unhealthy behaviors. Bar none. AJ -

We now know why ericdabbs is so overly impatient about the LG G2 November release date and tri band LTE. He was just spotted already waiting outside a Sprint Store... AJ -
