  1. I just got my shipping email for my 64gb Black S6. UPS indicates it should be delivered tomorrow.

    HTC One E8

Have you tried dialing ##72786#? I think that code should work for the E8, it resets the connection settings and reruns the activation in case something went wrong during the initial setup.
  3. Well it appears the Spark coverage in Wichita Falls is showing up on the map already. Though it is extremely optimistic looking more like what the final product should be once they finish the last couple towers and do the optimization.
  4. Being one of the first Spark markets makes it almost entirely a Clearwire LTE Spark market which isn't the best experience and does not mean the rollout is complete by any means. It's going to take the market filling out with more Sprint sites getting their Spark equipment to really get it where it can be great and unfortunately markets like DFW will struggle with this for awhile thanks to a vendor issue. So DFW isn't going to be comparable to a market like Chicago (which isn't facing the same issues) for awhile until the problems can be worked out. You should really consider a sponsorship if at all possible, there is a lot of information about this stuff available in there.
  5. Sorry to see something like this happen, made my contribution.
  6. Yeah its supposed to work great with LTE, that was one of their biggest selling points back when it was announced. Here's a quote from when we were first discussing it where they addressed several questions that came up about it during the discussion, it summarizes some of the biggest potential for this pretty well.
  7. My experience with band 26 has shown it to be pretty good, around -2 to -3 dbm better than the S4T and around -3 to -5 dbm lower than the N5, but I haven't seen much in the way of reports on band 26 signal strength so I don't know if my experience is common or not. I've had a hard time judging band 25 since my phone is using band 26 pretty much all the time when transferring data now but when idle it does seem weak, though I've noticed a tendency on the S4T for band 25 to look weak when idling like the phone significantly scales back power resulting in the signal appearing weaker than it is when actually in use so that could be part of it too. I know band 26 definitely appears weaker when the data connection goes idle, I've often watched it drop from around -85 when transferring data to -100 and even -104 but as soon as data was used again it jumped back.
  8. You might try going into the voicemail app settings and manually checking for an update. I've seen the app have weird issues like that when it is outdated and needed updated but for whatever reason it wouldn't prompt for the update on its own so I would have to manually do it.
  9. Regular sponsors have access to 1x 800 information on the main map and premier sponsors have access to two maps for 800 LTE, one with the schedule information received so far and also a sites accepted map.
  10. Encountered 1x 800 in Wichita Falls for the first time yesterday on a family members S3, and it seems like it may be relatively widely deployed here at this point. Also I must say while I was certainly expecting great coverage when it got deployed the results so far are beyond my expectations, we were in an area where a big building nearby blocks out the 1900 signal unless you are in very specific spots and the 800 signal was showing -78 in signal check with the phone showing nearly full bars. This was awesome to see in an area where the Sprint coverage had been problematic to say the least, and if LTE on 800 has even half this much of an improvement in coverage its going to be awesome. Also despite trying just about everything I could think of I could not get my Nexus 5 to pick up the 1x 800 signal, but I'm okay with that for now since its awesome RF performance has been allowing me to hold a usable fringe LTE signal and usable 1x 1900 signal in areas like that.
  11. It would kind of depend on how much was known about this around the industry before the announcement but now I'm wondering it this had any kind of hand in drama that's been going on in the cable industry when Charter seemed to be desperately trying to do a hostile takeover of Time Warner Cable and then shortly after that it comes out about Comcast buying TWC. Now that this is out in the public I'm definitely wondering if the cable companies had gotten word about this a while back and they're trying to protect themselves by consolidating.
  12. Yeah they're the other one that know still has an unlimited government hotspot plan.
  13. This is similar to the government hotspot plans that Sprint and at least one of the other 4 major providers still offers in an unlimited form. Though I know for sure one of the big 4 doesn't have an unlimited government one anymore.
  14. That trial that Dish and Sprint are doing for fixed wireless broadband would be somewhere I could see this showing up quickly.
  15. I must say I like that he is taking the time and addressing the questions that are being brought up here. With everything that must be going on having just announced this and the excitement surrounding it, the fact that he would take the time to look through this little thread we have going and personally begin to address the questions being brought up is something I would have never expected. I also respect that you talk so openly so early about not working with groups who would just sit on something that could shake up the market like this. As Sprint fans here I'm sure many of us have wondered at some point what could be done to unseat VW and AT&T at the top of their mountain or at least level the playing field for the smaller operators and I could actually see a way here to at least significantly level the playing field. I imagine with as significant of a change as this technology would be, if any of the major operators adopt it all of them would have to if they wanted to stay competitive, and I would hope it would be easier for the smaller operators to reach a point of network parity with their competitors so that the selling point would become less about the network quality and more customer focused but i'm afraid the duopoly will do everything they can to complicate the process.
  16. Definitely more information provided there, but it would have been nice to see the Q&A. Though I must say the more I learn about this and come to understand what this is doing and where it could go I find myself excited to start to see it. I'm even hopeful that Sprint could jump on this relatively quickly with their past history of embracing new technology quickly and the fact they are really just getting started with the deployment for band 41 could give them an opportunity to pursue this route.
  17. If you watch the pretty short video on the front page of the artemis.com link it sums up what they are claiming they can do pretty well. He's also supposed to be demoing this thing at some point today at Columbia University, when he does that he really needs to show something more concrete to prove that this is all working like he claims.
  18. Yeah it definitely sounds ridiculous, if this is real he's got to have a lot more to show if he's going to prove it is based in reality.
  19. If this proves to be possible on a wide scale and works anything like he claims it can this could have huge potential. http://www.wired.com/business/2014/02/steve_perlman_pcell/ http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-02-18/steve-perlmans-amazing-wireless-machine-is-finally-here http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57619072-94/is-pcell-the-holy-grail-of-wireless-networking/ http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/19/technology/wireless-system-could-offer-a-private-fast-lane.html?_r=0 http://www.artemis.com/
  20. No, it's not the actual update its just the source that the update is built on.
  21. Looks like the update is imminent for the S4T, samsung's opensource site now has the source posted for L720TVPUBNAF. When that happened for the Single band S4 the release began the next day.
  22. It'll be really nice when that shows up here, having just band 25 works pretty well but there are some areas that are starting to slow down as more people have upgraded to LTE phones, and the density Clearwire has here actually fills in some gaps in LTE coverage where even 800 would probably be reaching for good indoor coverage, infact there are a couple Clearwire sites here I'm hoping get completely built out in the long run since that would make Sprint's overall coverage solid and prevent some decently populated neighborhoods from having to count on just 800 for good coverage.
  23. I find myself wondering when Clearwire markets that are not one of the top 100 are going to come into the mix. I know they are not likely to be a top priority but the need to replace the Huawei equipment does still exist.
  24. It recognizes mine now too even through it is currently not active on my line it actually shows up on my previously activated devices and proceeding through the activation it appears it actually gets to the point where I could activate it online when before I had to call or chat to swap it. I also have the 32GB black version although the site does seem to think it is the white one.
  25. Looks like the first couple reports of the ZVA update showing up are coming in over at xda too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611075&page=6
