I think I should go beg a Sprint store to push up my upgrade date and get myself the Viper 4G LTE so I can use the Internet while I yak on the phone again. Of course I have to get my phone bill caught up first.

Cheap shot.
I'm sure they aren't fun, but it sure would be a good defense for me. Or maybe I should just start working out and learn how to properly defend myself.

Can anyone who has the LG Viper 4G LTE phone confirm that this Connections Optimizer software is included in the preloaded apps by Sprint? Also if the app does exist' date=' have you used it and does it work well with transitioning you from 3G/4G to Wifi? Maybe a description of what you see on your phone when the transition happens would be helpful.[/quote']
Eric, I'm under the impression that it's not a usable app but more of a hidden software feature that might or might not have a menu choice in settings. Although, I would also like to know how it works and if it affects battery life significantly more than without it.

The power usage would only be greater during the SVDO operation. If you're not doing both together (like 99% of the time)' date=' the SVDO capability doesn't impact battery life.[/quote']
Or in bad signal areas.

Nothings impossible but highly doubtful as I remember it took the guys a TON of time going through doing that on the 4G to AOSP Wimax....
With the sense stuff it always seems to take a actual build for that phone of that sense version with Wimax working to get it to work on said phone...

It is possible as someone was able to port the EVO 3D ROM to the Shift with WiMax intact. So now I just patiently wait.

Been waiting for Newtoroot to release his Rom for a while now. I'm currently running ZR3D on my E3D. ICS Roms are great but I'm in love with Sense 4.0.

Once Newtoroot gets the WiMax working on the Evo3D it's only a matter of time before someone gets the WiMax working on the Shift with ICS. That'll be a great day for me!

More battery use though?
The Viper shows 7 hour battery life on Sprint's website. I imagine it could be higher if SVDO wasn't there, or maybe it would stay the same.

Slowing down NV is very disappointing. I hope they find a way to catch up.
Me too.

Awesome to know. I've always wanted voice and data to work together. I might have to sell something so I can get me a viper. Does anyone know if the GNex does SVDO too?

By the way, early morning stock price gains have almost fallen off. Last I checked, Sprint was sitting at 2.51/share. Early morning hype doesn't help much for stock pricing anymore.

I thought the buildout was going slower than it should. However, if a market is having trouble like San Francisco is, move most of the crews to the next market and build that out and then go back and finish.
And if they hired more people, could they catch up and still finish on time for deployment?

Network Vision spending in 1Q was $104million, expected to double in 2Q
Only $104 million? Isn't the whole Network Vision project supposed to cost $5-$6 billion?

up over 9% right now
Really? I'll have to check that out. Now if only Clearwire would report a profit tomorrow. I fear they are closer to financial meltdown than Sprint.

I'll bet that Sprint stock of yours soars today!
I'm not gonna expect it Ben. Not with a net operating loss that big.

Listening to financial call now. Highlights so far:
Prepaid brands (virgin mobile and boost) will get Wimax 4G.
44% of iphone customers are new to sprint. Unlimited data was big factor in their decisions.
Positive confirmation of the prepaid access to WiMax rumors. Glad to hear.

I'm not surprised. It looks like its quite bulky and Bluetooth was a battery drain on the i4 compared to the 3Gs

Amazon has one. There were rumors that Apple was testing a keyboard version also.
As for Android' date=' I think manufacturers should make two versions of the same phone, one with keyboard and one without. This would take care of folks that want the same (non-sliding keyboard) phone but with a keyboard (and vice versa). Although I haven't used a sliding keyboard phone, there are at times that the on screen keyboard gets in the way seeing what I am typing about.
TS out[/quote']
I think that's the keyboard I saw for the iPhone 4. When it first came out I wanted one so bad.
