  2. Sprint currently uses bundled T1 lines for backhaul. These work OK for a 3G network before the smartphone explosion. However, they are insufficient now. Network Vision will correct the backhaul issue. Upgrading to fiber or microwave bridge to fiber in almost all instances. In the interim though, Sprint is still upgrading T1's trying to improve performance somewhat. Even though Network Vision is under way. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner

  5. C/U is part of the Central Illinois market for Sprint. There is a lot of work going on in the Sprint Central Illinois market. In the short term there are a lot of backordered T1's that are finally coming in to help until Network Vision backhaul is complete later this year. The problem with T1's is that they do bring relief when first deployed, but a lot of people who stopped using the network because of poor performance will jump back on quickly and degrade the additional T1's back down. There is no substitute for fiber and microwave backhaul.
  6. It looks like to me at a glance of Sprint's 97 market list that Madison is located in the Milwaukee Sprint market. Madison will likely get Network Vision/LTE deployment at roughly the same time as MKE.
  7. This pretty much sums up my feelings too. Sense OK. TouchWiz is poor. All suck unnecessary resources. Plain ICS FTW! S4GRU is now Mobile...sent from Tapatalk App

  10. Delete? Did you accidentally post on the wrong story?
  11. I can understand that. But AT&T has started a whole new round of fee hikes and gouging to help separate it from the competition on price point. They even were basically saying they would have to practically punish their customers because of the FCC. Which is plain stupid. However, I believe that Verizon has held their plans and fee pricing pretty steady. And now with family bundles, it can make them a little more competitive with Sprint too. 12. Good questions. I don't know at this point. But I ever get an exclusive interview with a Sprint network VP, I will be sure to ask. But hopefully I will find out more details in the interim.
  13. Sprint 4G Rollout Updates and our contributing authors have been busy writing for you. Here is a recap of our Most Recent articles: Samsung Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule & details for Sprint's Chicago Market Network Vision Drawings for a site in Overland Park, Kansas SNL mocks Verizon's 4G LTE Campaign Spectrum Analysis Part Two...Sprint and T-Mobile spare PCS spectrum would pair nicely for a LTE Partnership Spectrum Analysis...Does Sprint have more options for additional LTE carriers?
  14. Saw this today and thought it was funny...
  15. I didn't take it that way. Everyone is welcome to share their opinion here. I just appreciate when critical comments are explained thoughtfully. I think you did that. I think a lot of people are sensitive around here (me included to some extent). In some ways this forum is the last bastion for Sprint fans. Most of the other Sprint forums have really been overrun with haters. Including the official Sprint forums!
  16. Thanks for the additional info about Chester. I was assuming the town was flat. That being said, Sprint's ESMR will perform noticeably better than AT&T's Cellular band because NV towers have the RUU's up high on the tower behind antennas. The propagation gain is approx. 20% to 25%. But that may still not be enough in your specific instance. Sounds like a cell site in town is justified. AT&T is also beginning to mount its RUU's up on the towers too. But its rolling this out much slower than Sprint NV. Verizon and Tmo are behind in this regard. Although all things considered, VZW doesn't need it.
  17. I just moved homes last month. The stuff I purged was amazing. Kind of liberating. The old computer parts...RAM, cooling fans, HDD's, etc. that I was hoarding was unbelievable. The stuff was so old, no one is using computer with a 20GB hard disk anymore!
  18. shot gun I think I wasn't on the last page when I responded. Oops!
  19. Sprint is definitely not the carrier for everyone. But from where we are now on February 13th, Sprint is doing everything it can with the resources it has for the Chicago market. If Sprint doesn't meet your needs knowing how Chicago is being handled, I can understand and respect that. Thankfully we live in a country where we still have choices in wireless. I hope that always remains. Because the only reason Network Vision is under way now, and the only reason Verizon has an extensive LTE network is because of competition. Not because the heads of these companies are so wonderful and care about our needs. They just are concerned their competitors will better cater to their customers needs. Which sounds like it might be the issue in your case.
