  2. My wife and I both grew up military. So I almost feel like I can joke like that. Maybe I went too far. Sorry. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner
  3. You will know all the details that I can release soon enough. How are you using S4GRU? The like feature works on the mobile site and Forum Runner. But it doesn't work on Tapatalk.
  4. I was wondering if this post was a joke, based on a Polish joke I used to hear about septic tanks. I thought maybe you were going to say, "Did you hear that the Air Force bought 18,000 iPads? As soon as they learn to fly them, they're going to invade..." OK, OK. Poles and AF veterans, please don't send me your hate mail. I kid. I kid. I love our veterans.
  5. Does a SIM card in a CDMA/LTE device only handle the LTE only? Would it still have to be activated with the ESN like other CDMA devices? Or does the SIM card now also authenticate the CDMA usage as well? I don't know.
  6. Mirasol displays and nano battery technology will extend battery life in the average smartphone and tablet to days and weeks. Mirasol displays will be on the market in a big way very soon. Nano batteries are another 24 to 36 months.
  7. I have a source now. I just needs to sift through the data and figure it all out. But I think I'm going to be able to announce the next few Samsung and A/L cities later in the week.

    Hello All !

It goes both ways. I've really enjoyed your MOD and Theme threads. The very reason I have ICS Domination on my E4GT is based on your forum comments.
  9. Absolutely they can do this without a merger. In the short term, a merger doesn't make sense. I don't think Dan Hesse wants to stand before the FCC so quickly after pushing so hard against the ATT/Tmo merger. A partnership like this is a great way to show the FCC that there doesn't need to be any concerns about a future merger. Because a full demonstration of the whole deal will have been shown in advance. However, even a future merger isn't necessary either.

    Hello All !

We started Beta 1.0 on November 10th. It was hosted on another forum board. However, it wasn't meeting our needs. It was too limited in function, didn't support Forum Runner and Tapatalk...and worst of all it was very very slow. We upgraded to IP Board on January 24th and completed member migration to the new Forums on February 5th. So, you are just in time for Beta 2.0 here at IP Board. Euphorian! I hope to see you around often. -Robert, S4GRU (a.k.a. nmherron)

  13. Me too. I think OEM's only do it for the image of their brand and for customers to remain loyal. So in any instance where there is any significant additional obstacle, they just don't even bother. Like in the instance of the OG Epic. There isn't enough storage on the device. So why bother? They have enough fish to fry anyways. And also try and develop the new devices that are in their roadmap. And each OEM just leaves more and more old devices in their wake. Are they supposed to go back and update all those? Every year, that backlog of old devices gets bigger and bigger. And all those owners feel entitled to update. Unless it's specifically advertised by the OEM (like it is with the Nexus series), I never expect that my new device purchase will definitely be updated to newer versions of the OS. I think it's foolish and unreasonable to expect it.
  14. It's going to, in most places. However, there are going to be some cells (especially in dense urban environemnts) that will just have too many users even after Network Vision. Sprint will need to add cell sites in these instance and divide up the users in the cell in the instance where these occur. It appears that Sprint is in a wait and see mode of how Network Vision is going to perform before identifying and doing something about the cells that need to be split.
  15. I have not seen one peep since Light Reading wrote two articles about it just before the October 7th Conference. I think Sprint wasn't wanting that info out there. They probably reined in the source on that issue and now all is mum again. I would like some details!!!
  16. And that's what I'm afraid of. I see myself going from E4GT with 2.3 straight into a Sprint LTE device with 4.0. But I'm OK with that, all things considered.,
