  2. I will definitely take you up on the offer. LAM and SAF nearby. KLAM is a challenge. On top of a mesa at 7,000 feet ASL. My office is under the end of the 27 runway! S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner

  4. I don't use a screen protector on my E4GT. But I do have a great Ballistic case with raised edges that help protect my screen. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner
  5. If Sprint can't get the GN by the end of April, its too late in many ways. I would then probably wait for something quad core. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner
  6. My WiFi maxes out at 12MB at home and 20MB at work. That's awesome that it beats my home/work ISP. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner

  9. Its a sad reality that there are millions on the Sprint network who would love to speed up to those throttled speeds! S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner
  10. Bubba's Chicken? Is that a fried chicken joint? Any good? I live for fried chicken. Its my vice! I'm in Santa Fe right now getting my hair cut. And afterward, my son and I are going out to wreck some fried chicken. I know I'm off topic. But its my forum. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner
  11. Now I just read that Calkulin is releasing his ICS tomorrow. So now I'm torn. Although I don't like how the status bar on Calks ICS looks like TouchWiz. I would still need to run a theme over it. I might try Alpha 3 of CM9 though. I'm going to do a little reading tonight when I get home. Thanks autoprime for the update. 12. I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the TouchPad weekend blowout. - Robert
  13. I remember reading approx a year ago that Google was going to start requiring any OEM with version ICS and later have a native Android version setting. So if you get a HTC Sense or Samsung TW device, you can just go into settings and turn those ROMs off. I wonder if that ended up getting scrapped? I really liked the thought of that.
  14. It's not really web based. That's a misnomer. It's HTML5 based. It would run all HTML5 sites and apps. Your device can save a HTML5 based site locally on your device, just like an app. It could then run off the grid just like all non-data apps now. They can make an Angry Birds HTML5 app that never needs data, and virtually any other game. Theoretically, a "web based" or HTML5 based OS would use the same amount of data as iOS and Android.
  15. AJ: Excellent points. Verizon has established smarter relationships with it's rural 700MHz LTE partners. Verizon maintains control of the spectrum. Sprint would have to do something more similar to that setup if they ever proceed with alliances in the future. I believe with Pioneer, they set up an independent company that took control of the spectrum. Is that correct? And then basically that new company had control of the spectrum, and then can ultimately do what it did down the road. I think this has now proven to not be a model way to set up future rural spectrum alliances. But hindsight is always keenly superior, eh? Robert

  17. by Robert Herron Sprint 4G Rollout Updates Saturday, February 18, 2012 - 2:22 PM MST Has the new Samsung Epic Touch LTE just been discovered going through WiFi certification? It's possible that this is the new already announced Galaxy Nexus. However, the numbering seems to be more in-line with the Epic 4G Touch. The model number is SPH-L710. SPH = Sprint Handset; L indicates LTE. 710 was the same number for SGS2 Epic 4G Touch. Could it possibly be??? The Sprint Galaxy Nexus has the model number SPH-L700, so it's probably not the GN. Maybe Sprint will announce this device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of the month? Stay tuned. We should know more soon. Thanks to AJ and Neal Gompa for the heads up! 18. I couldn't agree more, Jeff. And it's a model that Verizon has adopted expanding its 700MHz across the land.
  19. I can understand and respect that nova46. Sprint needs Network Vision to fix its ailing data issues. And it will in most cells. There are some cells that will still be over capacity with all their spectrum resources used up. In these places, they will have to split cells. We talked a little about this in our first Chicago Network Vision article a few weeks ago. Also, to S4GRU! Hope to see you around.
