  1. Eric...don't worry. I have info on every single A/L market, including yours. Just pouring through all the data. Will be announcing markets, one at a time.
  2. We use this thread to keep track of all the markets announced or completed with Network Vision and LTE deployment. It will be Pinned to the top of the Network Vision Forum. This will be convenient for linking so you can post in other threads and forums. TOTAL NUMBER OF MARKETS (99) FIRST ROUND MARKETS (14): First round markets have no preceding markets before them. NV OEM's will mobilize in these markets and begin deployment. These markets will deploy slowly as there is a significant learning curve to Network Vision. Most first round markets started between December 2011 and March 2012. Atlanta/Athens Austin Baltimore Boston Central Jersey Chicago DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) Houston Kansas (Kansas City/Wichita) LA Metro (Los Angeles/Long Beach) New York City San Antonio SF Bay (San Francisco/Oakland) Washington DC Updated as of Friday, March 6, 2015.
  3. by Robert Herron Sprint 4G Rollout Updates Friday, February 17, 2012 - 1:06 PM MST As many of you have seen and heard, Sprint 4G Rollout Updates is preparing a long series of announcements of Network Vision updates. We have been teasing you for over a week now. Well, we are prepared to release one market name to you. S4GRU has been able to obtain information that Sprint’s Network Vision contractor Samsung is actively working on Network Vision and LTE deployment in the Sprint San Francisco Bay Market. The SF Bay Area Market includes nearly 900 sites to be converted to Network Vision. Preparation for deployment is well under way and work will begin soon. The entire market will take approximately 6 months to complete. This means that NV/LTE will not be completely live in the area until approximately October/November. But in the interim, the market will be brought on line one site at a time, tower by tower. So there will be many usable locations in Northern California by the time LTE devices start to be sold in the next few months. Note that Sprint has several markets in Northern California, including South Bay (San Jose area), Upper Central Valley (Sacramento area) and Lower Central Valley (Fresno area). These areas will receive separate deployments and will not be a part of the SF Bay Area Network Vision deployment. You can stay tuned here to Sprint 4G Rollout Updates for more information about these and other markets in the future. S4GRU currently does not have many more details about the rollout in San Francisco at this time. Hopefully in the not too distant future, we can provide a neighborhood by neighborhood analysis of this deployment like we have been able to do in Chicago. With the release of San Francisco today, that brings the total of Network Vision markets announced to eight. Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Baltimore and Kansas City as announced by Sprint. Chicago and San Francisco announced by Sprint 4G Rollout Updates. Stay tuned to Sprint 4G Rollout Updates. Early Monday morning we will be releasing another Network Vision/LTE market. This time from Sprint Network Vision partner Alcatel/Lucent. Check in at S4GRU.com for all the latest updates! Become a member today. Membership is free and easy. Photo Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons. Information about the source: The information for the San Francisco deployment and all of our Network Vision information has been obtained by several internal sources close to the Network Vision program who choose to remain anonymous. The documents will not be released to protect source anonymity. EDITED 3/5/2012: To include market map.
  4. That's all I see too. Hopefully this turns out to be a good move. Although I am always sad to hear of layoffs. Especially in this economy. I was one of those numbers back in 2009. S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner

  6. That's why I don't get the push out of TD-LTE until June 2013. They need to start generating revenue ASAP on their new LTE network to supplement their losses in the WiMax network that's just about to begin. I remember last year Clearwire was bragging how fast and easy that it was going to be to add LTE to their network. They said in 3/4 of their markets, it was going to be as simple as going to the base station cabinet and installing a card. The older WiMax installs were going to be more difficult. Now it is going to take until June 2013 for the first wave to be active? And on top of it all, they said they only needed $600M to get LTE over its entire footprint and $300M to fund operations during that period for a total of $900M. Well, since December, they have received more than $900M from Sprint and a new round of debt buying. If I sound a little critical of Clearwire, its because I am. This is rediculous! 7. I'm so fatigued with patent lawsuits that my first reaction is to tear into the complaintant. However, there is probably something to this suit since Verizon is paying them already. Verizon is a shrewd operator. They don't just go giving money away. Any one remember the Verizon strikes last year? S4GRU is now mobile...posted via Forum Runner

  15. The same upgraded backhaul that's going to be serving the LTE at every Network Vision site will also be serving the 3G EVDO network. Otherwise, the LTE network would perform at the same speeds as the EVDO is now at your cell site. Backhaul is the problem affecting 80%+ of the cell sites suffering from data speeds. If your speeds went up temporarily where you live when they added T1's, then backhaul is your problem. Otherwise, the additional T1's would not have helped at all. Sprint does have capacity issues. However, this is more of a problem in primary markets where they have too many active users per cell. - Robert
  16. I almost choked on my Diet Pepsi when I saw this link on Twitter posted by RootMetrics... Maybe those of you looking for a WiMax booster can use this??? Follow the link in the quote above and read about the spray-on antenna. Comment below! :jester:
  17. Not me. You have time to give us a brief narrative?
