  1. Those are all usable 3G speeds. Viva la Network Vision! Robert
  2. Sprint probably likes FreedomPop more because it is a means of all their non 4G iPhones a way to access their new LTE network. Although, Sprint should cut the middle man and offer the same exact sleeve to their iPhone customers. Robert
  3. Did you confirm you are in CDMA/LTE mode? My EVO LTE defaulted back to CDMA mode after the OTA this morning. Robert
  4. Not that I'm aware of. It could be a router problem. If you were on one carrier that was having connection problems to the router, but someone else was on a different carrier at the same site, that could account for the issues. Robert
  5. It will replace existing LTE carriers. For Sprint, it is just a software upgrade. LTE Advanced is backward compatible with LTE devices. It's just that LTE devices will not be able to use the advantages of LTE Advanced. Most of the advantages of LTE Advanced have to do with Carrier Aggregation and additional MIMO support. It's just a LTE upgrade. Robert
  6. No. PRL's will only control 1x and EVDO. LTE is not handled by PRL's. LTE is controlled by the SIM card. In Sprint LTE devices, the SIM card is sealed and not accessible. Robert
  7. We do have interactive maps available to our Sponsor members. For information about how to become a S4GRU sponsor, you can go to this link: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  8. True. Yet the same presupposition also existed when the iPhone 4S came out. Robert

    LTE IS LIVE!

Not too shabby with such a weak signal. Robert
  10. If we all can get 5Mbps with "zero" bars, we all would be smitten with the Sprint LTE network. Robert

    LTE IS LIVE!

Can you check your LTE signal strength? You will need to go into Settings > About Device > Status to be certain you are getting the signal strength for LTE. If you try an app, they will likely give you the 1x strength. Robert
  12. This is often the case in places where installs have been accelerated. NV crews can be sped up, but unfortunately, the backhaul takes as long as it takes. Robert
  13. If you are dependent on 4G WiMax coverage, you only have two options: Keep the EVO and wait out LTE coming live in your area Get a LTE device now and get a WiMax capable MiFi (which have really come down in cost) I hope you are legally using the hotspot. Because if you plan on hacking your Hotspot for LTE, you may be disappointed. Sprint is anticipated to block unauthorized tethering with their LTE network, or at least limit it for people who are deemed excessive users. Also, Sprint only has unlimited data for smartphone usage. Sprint does not offer unlimited hotspot plans. Robert
  14. That's a new site. Also, this confirms that 800 support is back in with 25005. It was removed in the previous PRL. Robert
  15. Awesome. Another confirmed CDMA 800 connection. What PRL are you using on your EVOLTE? I don't see any complete sites in Palatine, so either you are getting the sites in Hoffman Estates complete with CDMA 800, or there are new sites that have come live in Palatine since the last update. Cool stuff. Robert
  16. I can tell you Sprint originally planned to allow LTE sites to be usable as they completed, prior to launch. But that changed around the end of April. I'm hoping this blocking complete LTE sites will stop when sites start going live this weekend. However, I don't know for sure, yet. Robert
  17. Confident? No. But I am hoping to hear back from themuffinman when his LTE goes back live in Atlanta. He is going to do head to head testing with the EVO LTE and the GNex to see if the problem reoccurs like he had in the past. Robert
  18. You ain't kidding. Both of their fates were intertwined. I think the EVO was so anticipated and they had so many people coming off contract, they had no choice but to rush it out and pray for a resolution. I think if future models should ever have such a problem, they will just hold releasing the device. Robert
