  1. Updating percentages, launch guesstimates and production rate is on my to do list today. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  2. It is unlikely that Sprint Network Vision panels will move up the tower to be in the place of Nextel panels on a colocated site. Usually Nextel is higher because they have a lot less site density and try to cover as much geographic area as possible and just add carriers for capacity. 3. Bummer. It may mean that Sprint accepted the site from the OEM. It may show up in next week's update. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  4. Wow, when you are on a tiered data plan with caps, this is a big deal. Ouch. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  5. The August Map thread is way outdated. It's now closed. We are considering an October map soon. Robert
  6. I would be very surprised to see eHRPD. Since it is an in-building LTE deployment, it probably is an island not attempting to pass LTE data on to the macro network. RObert
  7. I have never advocated forced offload. I am asking you to use common sense and decency to offload when at home and have WiFi available. You choosing to offload when it makes sense does not make Sprint any less unlimited. You make it sound like if you do not consume all your data from the Sprint network (even if you choose to offload) then all of a sudden Sprint smartphone data is not unlimited. That makes no sense. If I choose not to eat dessert at the all you can eat buffet, but go to Baskin Robbins instead for that portion of my meal, that doesn't mean the buffet is no longer all you can eat, just because I decided not to eat every every possible bite there. Robert
  8. I bought my E4GT on Amazon Wireless. It was as easy as buying from Sprint online in my instance. No issues whatsoever. Great experience. Robert
  9. I was always able to keep the GS3 to keep connected to -118dBm RSRP, and sometimes even down to -125dBm. If you are not able to keep yours past -110dBm ever, then either you have a poor quality signal (what is your RSRQ?) or you have such a strong 3G signal (like you are very close to a 3G site). There is a remote possibility that you have a device issue, but that seems unlikely. Robert
  10. I have tried. It is not set up like WiMax, unfortuantely. You can edit the LTE scan timer in the EVO LTE, but it had no net effect in our Waco LTE performance testing. Robert
  11. OK. I was responding to Moffett's point, which is that Sprint LTE is inferior in his opinion. I think he is mistaken and not fully understanding. As typical. Robert
  12. I think the GS-III has the best shot of any Android device out there to remain relevant for a long time. And as long as you don't want a phablet (because the Note 2 is coming soon), then the GS3 is a great long term device. Robert
  13. There will probably be ways to defeat Sprint's detection of tethering too. And it won't be a problem either, unless you use some sort of stratospheric amount. Although the memo didn't mention this, I do believe they will start looking at really high usage account (maybe greater than 30GB or more) and do a quick usage review. If the types of usage appear to be more than smartphone usage and the account doesn't have a tether plan, I believe Sprint will start sending out letters. Robert
  14. A "better" noise ratio = better connection, which should result in a higher speed. Robert
  15. You probably need to get a data plan one tier larger than you think you need. Because once you have LTE everywhere you go, your usage will likely go up considerably. It would be a shame to have LTE and not be able to use it when you want it. I have a Verizon LTE hotspot, and it causes me great anxiety to check my data usage every day and try to meter myself out to the end of the billing period. Also, note that Verizon LTE speeds have been dropping considerably the past 30-45 days in most markets. They are finally getting saturated. Verizon needs to start adding some AWS LTE carriers, but none of their devices support it yet. So you will kind of be in a similar situation as Sprint and their LTE 800 devices not being out yet. Planned obsolescence. Robert
