  1. I sure wish someone down there would log some coverages on Sensorly!!! Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  2. Atlanta has the second best deployment of all. Maybe tied with Boston. But Chicago of course is the best. Dallas has not seen the numbers they should have. San Antonio is probably the worst though of all. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  3. Also, a new one appeared on Sensorly in Starsburg, VA today: http://sensorly.com/fullscreen/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=strasburg,virginia Robert
  4. OK. I live in a Non WiMax market. I bought the EVO on opening day...June 4, 2010. I asked the store when 4G WiMax would arrive in ABQ. They said before the end of summer. But I knew they were guessing. I bought those EVOs anyway knowing that there was no WiMax in New Mexico and I was taking a risk. Everyone who bought an EVO before their market was deployed was taking a risk. Sprint never said publicly they were taking WiMax nationwide or over its entire footprint. In fact, Sprint never planned to. They couldn't. 2500 spacing was way too tight and it was not economically feasible. Sprint was trying to implement WiMax though in the top 120 cities in the country with Clearwire. That was the plan. But Clearwire spent too much money on its retail model, leaving them without enough capital to complete past the first 70 cities. Clearwire was banking that their retail business would bolster their cash flow and they would be able to keep moving. That logic was flawed. Also by the time Clearwire ran out of money and their Protection Site deployment completed, Sprint was deep into Network Vision and LTE made more sense at that time. WiMax was dying. Sprint didn't really make bad decisions, they just appear that way with the luxury of hindsight. If Sprint was in better financial shape to shore up Clearwire during the WiMax deployment and keep their 3G network robust, people would not really be complaining now. Sprint really did the best it could with the resources it had. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  5. This seems to be common that eHRPD comes and goes in areas prior to launch. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  6. Dan Hesse once went to the New Mexico Balloon Fiesta and eHRPD shows up the day the Balloon Fiesta started. Coincidence? I think not! It must mean that LTE is coming! Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  7. Jingle Bells Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  8. Yeah, no doubt. Our gas is currently $3.59 a gallon, and that is very expensive to me. I wouldn't want to pay CA prices at this time. Yowzers! Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  9. You will likely not get LTE inside your home then. What is your signal like outside? Although, none of us really need LTE inside our home, because of WiFi. But it would be nice to have once we step outside. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  10. No. The South Texas market will not begin Network Vision/LTE deployments until 2013. Any work that Sprint could be doing in the Laredo area would be associated with contract maintenance upgrades. These are shown at network.sprint.com However upgrades at Sprint's website only show voice and 3G improvements. Not LTE or WiMax. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  11. I hate to be a jackass...but I no longer have time to answer the "What about my market? What about my major city?" Every time we post an update. Seriously, I am running out of time to do everything that is needed in a day to run S4GRU. The answers you seek are all around the site. Especially in the Markets forum. Look for them. And if you cannot find them, then ask. Seriously. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  12. On another note, it looks like we have confirmation of a 3rd Round market starting. In Sprint's Press Release this morning, they mentioned work is about to begin in the Joplin area. This is the first confirmation of work beginning in the Missouri market. It probably means that work will start in many other areas within the market as well at the same time. It's just likely that Joplin will have a prelaunch amount of service first. So keep your eyes to the skies in St. Louis, Springfield, Columbia, Jefferson City, Cape Girardeau and Rolla too! http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-328-sprint-marketing-updates-4g-lte-city-list-where-work-is-under-way-and-adds-20-more/ Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  13. Hopefully someone with iPhone knowledge will come along and give you some guidance. I have no idea. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  14. I had just moved it when you typed that, because someone complained via the Report feature. Funny timing. Robert
  15. WiMax has been active in Laredo for over a year: http://s4gru.spruz.com/pt/Current-List-of-SprintClear-4G-Unannounced-Cities-Protection-Sites---June-2-2011/blog.htm We tracked WiMax deployment site by site. The WiMax service in Laredo is a Protection Site. More info about Protection Sites is here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6-what-are-protection-sites/ There has not been any WiMax deployment since November 2011. We announced the last site to go live: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-206-new-4g-wimax-protection-site-in-millvillebethany-beach-delaware/ We have available in our Sponsor section maps of all the WiMax Protection Sites. 16. I believe the Nextel name is as tarnished as Sprint, if not worse. Especially among the bread and butter business segment. However, I do not believe the Sprint name is too far gone. Remember that their business is still growing. People want Sprint to succeed. They just want Sprint to have a network they can use everywhere they go. This is much more important than a name change. The loud vocal anti Sprint folks will not go away because of a name change. There is nothing you can do for these people. And there will always be Craig Moffetts and Roger Enters in the world. Sprint needs to strive for excellence and let success silence their detractors. All hail our new Japanese overlords! Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
