  1. I had this same issue. Roaming when on Sprint EVDO shows a triangle, but roaming when on Sprint LTE shows a superscript R. Weird. Robert
  2. It looks like to me it is right off US 1 across from the Southland Mall, just to the NW of the mall site. Directly across the street from the Publix. Robert
  3. This happens frequently on the LG Viper, because its 1x reception usually runs 10dBm worse than the EVDO. Robert
  4. Beyond -120dBm, it probably will be completely unusable if you ran a speed test. Maybe a little trickle on the download, but upload would definitely be zero as your device radio is not strong enough to overcome a signal at -120dBm RSRP. Great mapping. Thanks! Robert
  5. LTE performance is very signal strength dependent. You likely have a weak LTE signal. In Android devices, the LTE signal is not shown in the "bars", only voice is shown. See this explanation: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ With a weak LTE signal, you will likely get 5Mbps or less. However, as density increases with more and more sites going live, performance will improve significantly. Robert
  6. Agreed, This has happened to me in Texas. I went over and checked the band and channel assignment and confirmed that I was on another network for 1x. I remained on Sprint LTE. Robert
  7. I never saw that movie. I was not living in the Reno Area when it came out. I moved to Nevada in 1994. Robert
  8. Given the terrain in that area is so low and most of the signal would be across open water, the Sensorly blip out on Cape Canaveral could certainly be from the Cocoa site that showed up in the last update. It is on a really tall tower. Robert via Samsung Note II using Forum Runner

  13. Hmmm. I'm completely oblivious. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  14. Although that was technically possible when I left the house in 1994, it was not financially feasible to have only a wireless phone until 2000 or so. Well, at least if you talked to anyone. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  15. The permits were likely ready for the original market start before the bird/equipment problems. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  16. I'm really liking my Note 2. But it's not for everyone. Sometimes its size is awkward. Like in one handed operation in the car. There is a one handed operation setting, but I haven't tried it yet. However, there are more times it's size is a plus than a negative. Just pointing out that it's not all roses. It is quite the conversation piece. When I set it down on the conference table in meetings, people always stare and ask about it. It is a bonafide attention getter. I was in the Church's Chicken drive thru on Monday, and the cashier at the window sees me checking S4GRU and she shreiks looking down into my car, "Oh my gosh! It is sooo big! Can I hold it?" Everyone seems to want to know what it is, who carries it, how much, etc., etc. I had the GS3 early, and in comparison no one seemed to care. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  17. I moved to Sprint from AT&T in 2010. I was really surprised at the voice quality. It was equal to a landline with a very good signal. And the voice was usable all the way to one/zero bars of service. It was so good, that I abandoned local landline telephone service a few years ago. Don't miss it one bit. 18. Your conversion to wireless nerd is nearing completion. I feel so proud. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  19. -95dBm RSSI is the maximum threshold for LTE. Depending on your LTE device, you either will have a weak LTE signal, a spotty LTE signal or none at all. The gain expected from legacy to NV gear should be between 1dBm and 5dBm, roughly. However, some indoor coverage will be unaffected because of material types. Large metal roofs, CMU (cinder block), stucco with metal lath, adobe are brutal for RF propagation. Also some types of windows block RF, dual/triple pane windows with argon spacing, LO-E glass and LO-E² glass are especially limiting to RF. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
