  1. Its behind schedule at least two months from that. They were already getting behind schedule before the hurricane, and then that really pushed them behind. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  2. I have been pleased with my Nexus 4 purchase. It would be great if we could buy any phone that way for any carrier. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  3. I disagree about EDGE. I get frustrated going from blazing 4G speeds down to 2G all the time in rural areas on T-Mobile. It's like hitting a wall. I can use Tapatalk on EDGE, and that's if the thread doesn't have pictures. I don't know what EDGE latency is on ATT, but on Tmo it's between 800ms - 1400ms. Ouch. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  4. It is an additional EVDO carrier. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  5. It's dark, but I could see the green blinking lights on the ground Mount RRU's at the Budaghers site. I pulled my Fusion in just the right position and turned on the bright lights and there was new NV cabinets and two RRU's clear as day. Another one confirmed In Progress here in the ABQ market. On to home now! Robert via Samsung Note II using Forum Runner EDIT: Nice 3G speeds at this site, too.
  6. I can't finish it up until I can do some more EVO LTE testing. The Jelly Bean update has changed enough that I feel retesting is necessary. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  7. I buy 2 amp chargers for all my charging. I even have 2 amp chargers in my cars. Fast charging. Robert
  8. It is common when a 3G site goes live and is an island with no other NV sites around, they typically get overloaded and can under perform than it would normally. Other under performing sites adjacent end up shunting more traffic to the new NV site. It will equalize and get a little better when other sites adjacent are upgraded. However, a normal operating NV 3G site runs 1-2.5Mbps,depending on time of day and load. So 900kbps is pretty close to normal during peak times. Robert
  9. It can be very difficult to be sure you are connected to any specific 3G site, especially in denser deployed areas like urban and suburban locations. I'm nearly an expert at it, and can have a tough time ensuring connection to a specific EVDO site. One 3G site that is an island will not be very useful, and most performance tests will likely be inaccurate. Robert
  10. You can certainly get over 10 miles with CDMA in ideal deployment conditions. However, LTE on 1900 will not likely ever exceed 10, even in the best of conditions. LTE signal is too fragile beyond -95 RSSI (-120 RSRP) for your device to be able to use. Robert
  11. It is common for signals to come and go in unlaunched markets. We see this happen often. Especially with the very first sites in a market. Robert
  12. Also, in the Sponsor section members can see which Shentel sites are complete, and which ones are In Progress. There are several sites being worked on in the York area at the moment. I imagine they will be live soon,. Robert
  13. It is in the Sponsor section. For more info about becoming a S4GRU Sponsor, visit this link: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  14. I just got word that a site in St. Bernard was inspected and accepted today. Robert
  15. Please consult market threads. The SF Bay market thread is here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2225-network-visionlte-sf-bay-market/ Robert
  16. AJ is not a warm and cuddly communicator. However, my point was only related to him correcting a staff member for posting here even though he does not have the device. Our staff monitor and post in every category. I did answer his question even still. Robert
  17. It can be very difficult to get a device to connect to a specific EVDO site in an urban/suburban location. Robert

  19. Ooh, I'll take a case! Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  20. I only do device testing in places where there can only be one site and one channel and one sector that can possibly be connected. Otherwise all these observations are meaningless around your house. In Waco, I drove out to the last CDMA/LTE site in the network on the edge of roaming. I did the same in Wichita Falls. Went to a small town called Electra. And I do the same here in New Mexico. For radio testing, every device must be on the same site, same channel, same sector. And it takes a lot of time reverifying that during testing. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  21. The new North Melbourne site showed up in our weekly NV Sites Complete maps published last night in the Sponsor section. However, based on Sensorly readings, there may even be a second site live in Melbourne. But only one accepted from Sprint as of Saturday. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  22. No proper wireless nerd wears skinny jeans. With all of our devices, we need cargo pants with lots of pockets. Otherwise you would have to use a fanny pack, and that is not complimentary to the image a proper wireless dork must maintain. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  23. It means that the 3G work has been inspected and accepted at this site. On a site marked 3G and 4G complete most likely has 3G connected to new backhaul. If it is 3G by itself, then it may not be. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  24. It can be as little as two blocks though. If they install the site low and or have steep downtilt. They make small cells intentionally for greater capacity in a lot places. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
