Yes, mine does that all the time without any perceptible notification being involved. Robert
  2. I think I'm tiring of the "they're all done, they just need to flip a switch" story that keeps getting disseminated from stores. It is not true. Once a site is fully complete with LTE upgrades and accepted by Sprint, they turn it on. They are not waiting for the entire St. Cloud area to complete to turn on LTE. That being said, the first site in St. Cloud is probably within 30 days away. Robert
  3. Verizon did something similar here when they added LTE at the site 3 miles north of here. It's a headscratcher. Robert
  4. Sensorly shows crowd sourced data from users of the Sensorly app. It is far from exhaustive. There is much more coverage than what Sensorly members (which are largely S4GRU members) have plotted around Jordan so far. Robert
  5. I would love to see some pictures of this site if you get an opportunity. Thanks. Robert
  6. No. There have been updates since then. We are working on a new update today. If you become a S4GRU Sponsor, you can get access to maps showing which sites have work complete, and sites that are being worked on. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  7. There are a few sites live in the RDU market. However, the start of deployment there seems like it is off to a slow start. I hope to see more progress soon. Robert
  8. There is already one LTE site live in Jordan, MN actually. You can check it out at Sensorly.com: http://sensorly.com/fullscreen/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=jordan,minnesota Robert
  9. Yes. The blue sites mean that Sprint cannot deploy any 800MHz service there until the Feds work out a deal with the Mexican government about using that spectrum there. But Sprint will still do Network Vision upgrades on PCS 1900, including LTE. However, the additional 800MHz service will be delayed for a year or two. The 800MHz will provide more capacity (once LTE on 1900 starts filling up) and better voice and LTE in building performance. So 800 service is just a bonus. Sprint cannot start deploying 800 until after Nextel is decommissioned this Summer anyway. Robert
  10. Maintenance upgrades are a part of capex for every wireless carrier around the world. Sprint is just more transparent and shows them to customers on a map. The problem with Sprint 3G over the past few years is that they didn't spend the money on maintenance upgrades as they should have. Now they are. Robert
  11. There are still maintenance upgrades still occurring. On legacy and NV sites. The number of legacy sites getting maintenance upgrades will be steadily dwindling over the next few months. However, NV sites will still be getting maintenance upgrades too. If a NV site sees voice or data growth, additional carriers may need to be added. And if the site needs to order additional backhaul from the supplier, it will probably be shown as a speed upgrade. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  14. Sprint has said publicly at least once, but I think more than once, that they are upgrading to DO Advanced as a part of Network Vision upgrades. All the work to add DO Advanced capabilities can be achieved with the new base stations being installed, software and at the Sprint's MSC's. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

I've always avoided magnetic ones. Just the thought of mixing magnetics and electronics seemed like a bad idea. They are probably so low powered it doesn't matter though. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  17. Thanks for posting this. I have downloaded it and now taking it for a spin. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  18. Yes. Every Sprint 3G site will also get LTE service before they are completed. Robert
  19. They are about 3 months behind schedule. But work is under way. You may see the first testing signals in the next few weeks around Portland. However, it will be very spotty at first. Once the very first sites go live, more and more will be added every week over a 6 month period. Robert
  20. It's not like they will be the same people anyway. Just another contract. The planning, engineering and money are the big obstacles. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  21. Work is already under way. Samsung has begun or is beginning work very soon in all their markets. They are kicking it. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

This is the one I use. I love it. My wife uses the same one for her Kindle too. http://gigaom.com/2012/08/20/the-15-magnetic-blurex-nexus-7-case-trumps-googles-official-20-cover/ Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
