Sprint is only deploying 1x and LTE on 800MHz, no 3G EVDO. It's not Sprint specific, it's band specific. Canada and the U.S. only have agreements regarding narrowband usage in the SMR 800 band. We are awaiting wideband agreements (which 1x, EVDO and LTE are all wideband). Verizon and the 700 band have already been worked out with the Canadians. Robert

Ugh! With all the trees around here, I was hoping for an increase in voice signal coverage. We all want 800MHz Are they working on this issue with the Canadian Government? Yes, but these things typically take years Do we have a detailed map of which towers that the cdma 800 Mhz will be deployed on? I'm about an hour SE of Seattle. No. But I may be able to do it one day

Each structure is different, so there is no way to say. In general, most concrete walls are impenetrable for all RF. It is basically only coming through the windows, doors and possibly the roof. Robert

How come they can go on the full build sites but not GMO when the entire area seems to be in the IBEZ? I thought something special had to happen between the two governments? 800MHz can only go on full build sites because it requires the new NV panels. Legacy panels are 1900MHz only. As for the IBEZ, Burlington is definitely in the IBEZ, so scratch that. I was getting over zealous when typing that list above. However, the bottom of the market is outside of the IBEZ, like Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine. I would be surprised if the Canadians and Americans work out an arrangement for the 800SMR band this year. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Yeah, I'd like information on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area as well... every time I visit I think about switching to Verizon since not only do I not have 4G past Hershey but I also roam half of the time I am up there. The Scranton area should begin full build sites in the next few weeks, which will bring LTE. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Straight talk offering LTE on the Sprint network w/ GS3

In the cases where Sprint provides customer service to the MVNO, the MVNO pays for that service. It's an optional feature that costs more. Robert -
COUNTDOWN!!! Nextel iDEN Shutdown
S4GRU replied to S4GRU's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
In the first six months or so of Network Vision back in 2012, sometimes they would not deploy all the equipment, because of early equipment availability issues, etc. However, since approximately Q3-2012, all sites are fully deployed with 800/1900 LTE/CDMA equipment from the get go. So when you see a site that only has one technology accepted, whether 3G or 4G, it means the other technologies have already been installed also. However, the other technologies cannot be accepted as complete at this time. Often the reason why 800 cannot be accepted is because of interfering Nextel iDEN (which is soon to no longer being a problem). Often why 4G cannot be accepted is backhaul. Often why 3G cannot be accepted is because of clustering. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta- 543 replies

Each site is worked on as they become ready. They bounce around the market as a result. So the deployment in the East Burbs will be one or two here, then another one or two a few weeks later. It will probably take 6 months to well cover the area. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

IP BOARD UPGRADE NOTICE...site to temporarily lose customization
S4GRU replied to S4GRU's topic in General Topics
The problem is Forum Runner. They don't want to adopt the changes to support the latest versions of IP Board. There is a work around: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3817-forum-runner-app-page-does-not-exist-error/ Robert -
I bet Sprint is getting aggravated too. The delays are more of an issue of manpower than anything. There are only so many qualified people to do this work, and all carriers nationwide, large and small, are upgrading their networks. Even the backhaul companies are stretched thin. The bottom line is it's going to take as long as it's going to take. Sprint wants it done as soon as possible. But I believe it's exceeding all of our thoughts and hopes. But the deployment is still going. Fortunately it has not stopped. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

It still is a 4th Round Market. Just GMO's started early. You will still see 800 deployments on full build sites. You should start seeing a few in the next few weeks in the larger cities in the market, like Manchester, Nashua, Portland, Bangor and Burlington. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Narrowband 800 SMR transmissions like iDEN are covered under existing agreements with the Canucks. Unfortunately, wideband has not been worked out yet. Both CDMA carriers and LTE carriers are wideband. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

What are you babbling about? Your post makes almost no sense except you're ranting. Rants are against our posting guidelines: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1197-s4gru-posting-guidelines-aka-the-rulez/ The Charlotte market is nowhere near complete. Sprint is allowing early access. Of course it's spotty. Kind of like your punctuation. The market is only 52% complete with LTE: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/212-network-visionlte-deployment-running-list/page-2&do=findComment&comment=22589 Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
