  1. Uhhhh...did you need to insult all of us? I was happy just insulting Santa Feans. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta unfortunately you and I both know it extends outside of santa fe Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 Beta True. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  2. Well, I have never seen the two together. Conspiracy! Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  3. Which device maps the gray "no coverage" on the map? It's barely there for Sprint, but the AT&T and T-Mobile maps almost have more gray than purple. Every device will map gray if it has "no service." So you basically have to be in LTE only mode. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  5. Unfortunately in this day and age, it is too much to ask. With the explosive growth of data, new bands and blocks are being added all the time for all carriers. This is not unique to Sprint. If you want a device that works on all possible bands and blocks at all times, you will need to buy a new device annually. I just had to buy a new hotspot for Verizon so I could use AWS LTE, even though my other hotspot is only one year old. Such is life. I could have just kept the old one, without much impact. But I wanted access to the new band. It was a personal choice. And that preference cost me money. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  6. AJ So I Married an Axe Murderer may be my all time favorite movie! Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  7. I forgot about that skit! Although, it always makes me a little sad to see Phil Hartman. Even after all these years. What a tragedy. Robert
  8. SignalCheck showed about 53% signal strength.. is 4-5mbps pretty average for sprint LTE? My friend has AT&T and he gets about 20mbps average With 53% signal strength, I'd say that is around normal. However, a measure in dBm RSRP would be better for us to equate. What is your friends signal with 20Mbps. He probably is using a fully deployed network. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  13. I get your point. However, to say that the latest versions of Android have a problem because they will not run on as little as 256MB is kind of a pointless discussion, because the latest versions of iOS and Windows Phone will not either. It is comparing 2013 operating systems to 2010 hardware. This is really a third world problem, as they are the ones who want cheap phones with outdated hardware with the latest operating systems. As digiblur points out above, the cost difference between 256MB of RAM and 512MB of RAM is negligible. Even the cost difference to go to 1 GB nowadays is not so large either. This is not unprecedented that newer software and OS'es require more RAM. This has been true in the PC World too. And like I have mentioned, WP and iOS devices also require more RAM as generations evolve. Robert
  14. Your problem with WiMax phones battery life is likely two fold... WiMax devices were notoriously poor with battery life when the WiMax antenna was on Poor or no signal with WiMax turned on will drain your battery faster WiMax had poor battery life, because Sprint WiMax devices had to have a separate WiMax baseband chip. So whenever you turned on WiMax, you were essentially doubling power consumption on the chip level. This really reduced battery life, even if WiMax was not actively being used. Also, as you note, when your signal gets poor, your device is screaming out the transmission as loud as it can in order to transmit, which reduces battery life. And then when you have your WiMax on and you have no signal, your phone is constantly scanning for a WiMax signal. All this equates to sub-par battery life. Contrast that to LTE devices. LTE devices are much, much better on the battery. They do not have separate chips. New LTE devices can idle on LTE with no net drain effect on the battery greater than 3G. The very early mid-range LTE devices had some minor LTE drainage issues (like the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper), but they were WAY BETTER than even the best WiMax device. Newer devices since the Galaxy S3, and definitely all the ones released this year, there is virtually no difference in battery life when in CDMA only mode and CDMA/LTE mode. The only noticeable problem someone may have in LTE mode on a new device is if they are at the edge of coverage for a LTE device and it is constantly scanning for a better signal. However, this will still be a much better drain on battery than WiMax ever was even on the best day. Robert
  15. Do the latest versions of iOS and Windows Phone work well on 256MB of RAM? 256MB of RAM is woefully inadequate for 2013. If you're using 2010 hardware, you are stuck with a 2010 operating system. Robert
  16. Thanks for your support. Currently, we are taking in enough money to meet our expenses, thanks to people like you. Robert
  17. to S4GRU! Glad you found us. Once you have the site figured out, you should consider S4GRU Sponsorship. There is a whole non-public side to our site that provides much more specific information. Including an NV Sites Complete map that show all the updated Sprint sites. It gets updated every day or two. You can find out more about becoming a Sponsor here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Hope to see you around! Robert
  18. There's really no way to answer this, unfortunately. Because it depends on why it's not live. It can be turned on remotely, if it was shut down remotely. If there is a physical problem, then a site visit would be required. And in this instance, I have no idea what the issue is. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  19. I hope to clear my back log of Shentel sites today. It will be nice to get those caught up. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

  25. His vague points are meaningless. The New Sprint will have a mildly high debt ratio...whoopdeedoo. Compare the debt burdens of the old Sprint..they used to be in a much worse position related to debt. Also, SoftBank can further capitalize Sprint at any time with more money. Additionally, the New Sprint can start retiring a lot of its outstanding debt with much cheaper debt on the Japanese market. It's not going to be a cakewalk for the New Sprint. But it's a better position for the future than VZW and ATT. They will be seeing their margins reduced. Sprint has nowhere to go but up from here. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
