  1. Every month that goes by, the thought of Legere leading a new combined Sprint/Tmo bothers me less and less. The things about Legere that would hurt the company would likely be tempered by Masa. Masa would still be his boss. I'm now to the point that I don't think this is an issue for me anymore. I'm just skeptical on getting through regulatory approval. It would be extremely painful to go through months or years of wrangling and have it fall apart at the last minute. Even breakup fee aside. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Now that work is well underway in Oahu, it will be some rough surf for awhile. But it's finally happening. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  3. It will be much less because of beam forming. And the propagation difference between 2600 and 1900MHz is not as big as they are making it out to be. We notice a huge difference between 2600 Wimax and 1900 EVDO. But the difference between LTE 2600 and LTE 1900 is much smaller. Sprint says in internal documents that 1900MHz reaches only 30% farther than 2600 with all things being equal. And beamforming can close most of that gap, if not all of it. 4. I was impressed with Band 25 LTE in Philly Center City and around the Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market. Worked great even indoors. It beat my VZW and AT&T LTE most of the time. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  9. mikejeep and twospirits have moved up today. Thank you for your continued support! Robert
  10. He's said as much, if you read between the lines. He says that two smaller competitors cannot take on their two larger rivals because finances will never allow it. If we want more than two fully national providers, we will need to make a change, like allowing a merger/buyout. If we are happy with the status quo, two big and two little, then leave things the way they are. I think the question that is the most profound to ask is this...which would AT&T and VZW prefer? I believe it is a resounding NO MERGER. And then you all have to ask yourself, why would the duopoly be against a merger. Because they'd be scared that they truly would have someone other then the other to compete against. AT&T numbers have shown they have largely deflected the Uncarrier moves, just by simply lowering prices. Why go to inferior coverage Tmo if AT&T is the same price? Tmo and Sprint are just taking the same customers back and forth. And that's the way it will always be until someone can really start to take on the duopoly. Tmo or Sprint could take on the duopoly organically. They don't have to consolidate. But it's much harder. And will take much longer. And take lots of capital. And it may take longer than most investors are willing to wait for. CCA is their best bet apart. However, VZW already is buying out a CCA member. How many have they bought the last 4 years? How many more will they be able to buy out? All of them, maybe? Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  11. ballman is moving up in the rankings, because he has a monthly recurring donation. Robert
  12. You thought I was being sarcastic? I was not being sarcastic. I will have to work on my tone. I was trying to get across fatherly and direct. Robert
  13. It varies based on what I'm doing and where I'm at when a donation comes in. Thanks for everyone's patience. We appreciate the contributions. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. I think others agree. Donations plunged off a cliff a few weeks ago. Reduced Robert, equals reduced donations. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  15. I wasn't trying to be fair and cover all points. I just wanted to illustrate how far AT&T has lowered their pricing. Sprint's Framily plans with large groups is definitely the best value in the business. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Although it's not something I commonly tout, I am paying $50 per month less for 4 lines on AT&T than I did with Sprint. Granted my phones are not subsidized and I have a data cap. But it does go to show how much AT&T has lowered pricing. The same plan a year ago would have cost me $50 more per month than Sprint. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  17. It's just an anecdotal observation from my perch, but it seems as most of the hogs have moved (or planning to move) to T-Mobile. Hogs have been the biggest complainers of the Sprint network condition. Because they can't hog it fast enough. The network acts like an artificial data cap. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Why is this difficult? Put into LTE Only mode. Drive around. If you are getting normal LTE signals where you go, the problem is CSFB. Also, you can compare with other Spark devices. It won't hurt anything. Because if it's CSFB, it will affect them all, not just the N5. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  19. I wasn't expecting a total subscriber gain this quarter. Not at all. Not even with Framily. I think the losses will reduce until Q4 2014, when I believe they'll start adding again. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  20. mooeydj has moved up in the rankings! Robert
  21. I wouldn't say they prefer it. But they prefer you and I use a Sprint MVNO than churning to another provider. MVNO's provide a good revenue stream for Sprint. MVNO customers use less network resources and do not consume any customer service. They are much less expensive to Sprint. If a Sprint branded postpaid customer is worth a 10 to Sprint, then a MVNO customer is worth 6-7. So Sprint is happy to gain Ting customers. Even if less profitable. A corporate customer is also about a 7 or 8. Heck, even a Framily customer on a 10 line account is only a 6 or 7. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  22. And Sprint thanks you for using Ting. They get paid still. And you use less data. It's a win/win. I like my Ting service. I pay for what I use on the Sprint network. Seems the most fair way to consume data, IMHO. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
