  1. Yep, if you run out of patience, I understand. I'm a little anxious myself. Just don't allow your new found lack of patience cause you to break the rules. Robert
  2. AT&T needs to do some refarming for LTE. So VoLTE makes sense for them. Let them work out the bugs. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  3. There may be something to that May 25th date after all. But if so, we should start hearing rumblings soon. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  4. The 900MHz holdings are virtually unusable beyond narrowband operations. The expense to reband and get device support for just one or two CDMA channels is just not worth it. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  9. Let's keep in mind that the net result for the 5% is the same before and after June 1st. The Heavy 5% users will only be throttled at sites that are overburdened. So they were already experiencing the slow down anyway at those sites. It's just that the other 95% will now have a chance at those heavy site to see their speeds increase. And 5 percenters still will have no throtlling at any other site/sector. Just the overburdened ones. And if a 5 percenter has a Triband phone, their chances are much lower of being on an overburdened site. This is all much ado about nothing. It's so extremely minor. I'm not even certain it will even help much. And if you're a 5 percenter, then you probably won't even notice a difference. And if you do, then compare what your fate would be in the amount of data you consume over at another provider. If you really do your homework, you'll find most of you are still in a better position with Sprint. This is a temporary stop gap because of the condition of the network. We all see Band 41 and 26 going live all over the country. Band 26 itself doubles Band 25 capacity. And Band 41 grows it exponentially. Overburdened sites will be less and less an occurrence over the next year. But something has to give at these Band 25 sites in the interim. This is it. And I reiterate, it doesn't effect 19 out of every 20 customers. And for the 1 in 20 that it does, it only effects them on overburdened sites/sectors, and when it does, the net result for them is the same as if there was no throttling going on...an underperforming site. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Unlimited is still in force. Even for the 5%. 95% are completely unaffected. But the 5% of highest users will still have unlimited data consumption that will only be slowed down when they are using an overburdened site. It's fair, reasonable and even Tmo is already doing it. And the ones who can't deal with it should go to another provider and experience the same thing or worse. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  11. I think all of you who are in the 5% who don't like the new terms should churn. That will show Sprint. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  12. They are rolling out all that spectrum. But they need relief now while they are rolling it out. They can't roll it all out next month. It will take years. And it will also take years for people all to buy Triband devices. But 3G and Band 25 LTE are jammed up now. And it only effects the 1 in 20. If you are the 19 in 20, don't need to worry. If you are the 1 in 20, and you can't live with the throttling when you are on an overburdened site, Sprint actually wants you to churn. And we all want you to also if you are the 1 in 20. Robert
  13. If you need peace of mind, then churn. And see what the other carriers do to your Peace of Mind. Even Tmo does the same thing according to Conan Kudo above. He is the closest equivalent to S4GRU over at Tmo. Robert
  14. I was thinking this was the case, but I wasn't sure enough of myself to post it. Thanks. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. I'm still really busy. On 285, there is no Sprint from 30 miles past the 470 until Española, NM. I've driven that road many times. Nice drive though and VZW roaming works well. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. Once you get north of Española, you'll be roaming. Taos, Questa, Red River, Angel Fire and Eagles Nest are all roaming on VZW or Commnet. Sprint coverage around ABQ and Santa Fe is great. However, 3G performance is hit or miss in the city. Rural 3G performance in New Mexico on Sprint is marvelous almost everywhere. So south of ABQ to Hatch should be very good. But I rarely went south of ABQ. But I remember it being only within 10 miles of I-25 each side at maximum. There is a little CDMA 800 in ABQ and Espanola, but not a lot yet. Maybe others have some more pertinent info for you. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Let's keep on topic. This is about the Nexus 5. Off topic comments hidden. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  18. My parents are coming in from Florida for Memorial Day weekend. So it will likely be around June 1st that normalcy will resume. Thank you for everyone's patience with me. It's been a rough few months personally. Robert
  19. This is a genius move by Sprint. Utter brilliance. Think about it this way... It does not affect 95% of their customers. So 19 out of every 20 customers will see no difference. None. The last 5% consume way more services than everyone else, often at the expense of the other 95%. In fact, when you consider how many 95 percenters Sprint has lost as customers, it's reasonable to conclude that these 5% cost Sprint money and don't even add anything to their bottom line except woe. So Sprint is saying to these 5% at overburdened sites, we will slow you down. Sprint is prepared to let their non profitable over using customers to go to Tmo. But only half of them will leave. This is the fairest throtlling scenario of all providers. It only throttles those who use the most, and only when they are affecting the performance of the site. And if these folks decide to leave, it's a win for everyone. It's a win for the customer who leaves because he will finally pay for his consumption wherever he goes. It's a win for other Sprint customers to not have to compete so much for resources. And it's a win for Sprint to get rid of a customer who was unprofitable and hurting a huge amount of core customers. Remember, it only affects 1 in 20 customers. If you find yourself in that one, I think you should teach Sprint a lesson and go overuse the Tmo network. But the other 95% are unaffected and looking forward to some breathing room on the network as capacity is being added this year. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  20. What COZisback has said is the rule that the moderators enforce. Doesn't seem harsh to me. It was determined with input from our Sponsors when enacted a few months ago. Everyone is free to discuss what they observe out in the field though outside the Premier section. We are fine with that. But if you are discussing scouting sites based on info from the Sponsor sections, then your reporting about what you find should be in the appropriate Sponsor section. If you just happen across something and want to talk about it. Go ahead. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Yes, it is much smarter to buy service from a company who actually has service in your area. Glad you're no longer ignorant. Best of luck to you.
  22. I don't use Spotify. But my Pandora streams just fine on AT&T Faux G running at 300kbps. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  23. The data is unlimited. Just the speed will not be wide open. And just not in problem areas. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  24. This will be controversial. They say the top 5% is roughly people who use more than 5GB of data per month. I think there are a lot of our members who use more than 5 gigs a month and then get connected to a well burdened/over burdened site. They will have their speeds reduced. Although I don't like AT&T, I do like my 15GB plan. If I go over, I just pay my fair share of the overage. If I want a lesser bill, I just use less. I also like my Ting plan for the same reason. I pay exactly for what I use. It seems fair. And if I want to save money, I can use my phone very sparsely. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
