Network Vision/LTE - Missouri Market (includes St. Louis)

So I was driving through Fenton tonight and I was at Gravois Bluffs when I noticed a 4G signal....SCID says it was the Des Peres site.  That's 7.3 straight miles....pretty good distance.

Also noticed we have 3 yellow pins in the STL area now for 3G and 4G acceptances on the same tower.  The 4th out in Wentzville isn't new but I think the others are.

Yes, those were Monday's and Tuesday's along with the 2 new 4G acceptances.

Are you talking about the yellow pin at Wright City? Wentzville doesn't have any yellow pins on the map.....

If anyone is near those sites today, which i know at least some of you are going to be near the new 170 site. Try to grab a signal and pull SCID. Will be greatly appreciated.

OK, so it turns out the site at Girl Scout Rd and Meridian in Glen Carbon is not a false alarm.  The cable was back yesterday as I drove to work, and I thought I even saw a dude up there at the top of the tower as I sped by.

Stopped by this morning, and there was a crew at the site.  They said they were doing some shelter work for Sprint.  I asked if they had new cabinets, and the guy said they were in the shelter.  There was also a trailer there with three antennas and some boxes.  They crew didn't know anything about them, and said they weren't doing any of the tower work.

Not sure I can confirm that these are NV from this angle and with the lack of visible RRUs.  Anybody?

Steveo, you will definitely beat me there, as I don't think I'm going back that way for work anytime soon.  hopefully it will actually be live, it seemed to take about a week or so before the I-70 & Bircher site went live after acceptance.

I will also need someone to grab HEX as well. So if anyone with HTC/Iphone want to grab that, please do.

After reviewing my pics that I have on my computer I am 99% sure these are NV Panels. Take a close look at the back of this panel before they put RRU's on. and also the sticker on the top of the panel.

Does anyone have any updates on the existing Joplin towers with panels which are not broadcasting LTE yet?

I don't have any updates for you but maybe you could help with some HEX SCID's in Joplin. I only have 1. It would be a greatly appreciated if you could get those for us!

SPRINT =777468. LTE Engineering screens are appreciated from all devices but are preferred from HTC/iPhone. Both numbers matter but iPhone/HTC will give you the HEX which is tied directly to the site ID.

Yes those are RFS antennas used in the NV upgrade... I can spot those all day long.  In fact those boxes behind them to the right are the RRUs.  Spot those things from a mile away it seems now...kinda sad like being able to instantly add and subtract 169 from a number without thinking about it.

I am going to go ahead and say that 170 and Delmar is broadcasting because there is dark purple there and new blips all the way to the Rock Road.

    • Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.
    • 5G in the U.S. – Additional Mid-band Spectrum Driving Performance Gains T-Mobile holds on to it's lead in 5G Speed
    • Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.
    • Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.
    • Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
