Because I picked it up there before my phone updated to spark unless I got another tower before

Where is "there?" It's quite possible that the tower you thought was a Clear site isn't.. and the Band 25 site is much closer, so your phone picks the stronger signal.

This is off 160th and Huron and the other tower is 144th and I25. I know that one is a clear tower but I will look at the tower the just went 4g and see if it is a clear tower. But I thin you guys are right I picked up the other tower. And no it wasn't that strong if signal

What's the closest cross street to you?

The site near 144th and I-25 is not yet converted to Band 41.

The Band 25 site near 160th and Huron likely overwhelms any weak Band 41 you were able to get before. It is also not a clear site.

Ok. So is it possible I did get band 41 at that one site? I have done a speed test there and checked what band it was. You think maybe it was being tested? The one on 144th?

No, I don't think it's possible. I can't give away too much information here, but it's not likely to have B41 for some time..

You may have gotten a weak signal from a site further away.

You didn't say what your closest cross streets are.

That are active?

Yes, the sites that are active are south of 120th.

attachicon.gifuploadfromtaptalk1393452011097.jpg not sure if you can figure out where this tower is with this screen shot. This was a couple months ago I think.

Those screens do not tell us what sites you are connected to. Without having someone confirm serving cells on specific sites, they aren't of much help.

But we know the site was not likely proximate to his location with a really weak signal like -140dBm RSRP.

oh ok. Well thanks. Cause the tower off of grant and like thornton parkway is band 25 and the tower on 104th and sunnyacres is band 25 i think. The speed test i got at 52 was at the mcdonalds on 104th and federal and I know the tower right there on top of safeway was a nextel and a clearwire site. Not sure that helps. So you think band 41 traveled far or just got a great speed test cause not many people on it?

True. I didn't even look that closely.

Well at 104th and Federal... you're practically swimming in B41. Just sayin ;)

I tell ya, the Premier Maps are pretty helpful when it comes to this stuff if you ever have the opportunity :)

I know they would. I can't afford it right now. Trust me I'm sure I could answer most of my questions there instead of bugging you guys. But that site on federal isn't csfb live. I can't connect to it.

No, the surrounding cluster has not be 3G launched, so no CSFB yet. Once the cluster is 3G ready, then you'll be able to connect outside of LTE only again.

I figured. I'm just excited I have lte at work now. Signal doesn't penetrate the bricks that well compared to 3g. I work at that Costco and if I go to the north east part of the building I loose lte. Also speeds this morning were under ten mbps but this afternoon jumped to around twenty. Just giving info. Again just excited I have it.

That's a little surprising since you are practically right next to the site, and there's nothing between you and it. Just goes to show how much a building can dampen the signal. 800 LTE will likely fill in the gaps inside the building. At least we can hope, won't know until it goes live.

Signal in the corner I will check tomorrow. That last screen shot was not in the corner of the store. But normally my signal is great on the building. I know tmo at&t service sucks in there and Verizon is ok

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
