kineticman
New FCC filing: Verizon Wireless would lease from Nextlink spectrum associated with 93 LMDS (28 GHz) licenses and nine 39 GHz licenses in all or parts of 289 CMAs, covering approximately 63 percent of the U.S. population. dnwk
So, what 5G technology will look like.
tybo31316
I have a feeling that VZW is coming out the gates too early with this technology. Similar to how Sprint did with WiMax. If I was VZW I would wait to see what the GSM carriers around the world does with their 5g tech. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
dedub
28ghz is only 200mhz more than 2600mhz. Sounds like they are trying to copy the success of sprints b41 and call it 5g. we use lmds technology (amongst others, including wimax) to provide fixed wireless service. Math is off. 28 GHz is 28,000 MHz. 2600 MHz is 2.6GHz. Sent from my Nexus 5X

Or could this be for Comcast ?? And wifi? .... Just speculating
payturr
This is definitely for 5G. Verizon has claimed huge success with fixed 5G performance, wants to use it to become a WISP. Part of their master plan to become everyone's cellular provider, ISP nationwide.
