So I have noticed an issue with my Gmail notifications since I updated. My notifications are delayed.

For example - In the morning when I check my phone it doesn't show I received any email. But about 20 seconds later when I'm using my phone it does show I got an email during the overnight. But didn't notify me.

I am kinda disappointed that the carriers decided to go with Android 7.0 build number instead of 7.1.1 after all this time.  It seems like 7.1 had some significant changes and was hoping for at least Android 7.1.1.  Carriers should never go with the base build of the first Android release since there are always improvements and bugs that they need to be incorporated.  Normally the carriers go with at least the X.1 build version.

Judging by the fact the S8 is being launched with only 7.0, I think Samsung doesn't even have a 7.1 build ready for their phones.

Ah ok...hmmm I wonder why Android 7.1.1 is being delayed.  It seems silly since at least Android 7.1 has been available since Oct 2016.

Perhaps knowing which devices have Android Nougat 7.1 May hold the answer.

Why does my Note 5 hold onto B25 a lot? Wow. Just noticed this over the past few days and I'm in a very strong B41 market.

Right now I'm next to a tower at a restaurant and been on B25 the whole time.

Quite the opposite for me, I'm always on B41 and or B26.

Anyone have a system update message pop up and then go to do it and it says the latest updates are already installed?

That's a negative for me..

Has Sprint released any Security updates for May 2017?  I know Tmobile recently had a new update for security updates for May 1, 2017.

Saw a prompt the other day but when I went to install there was nothing there.

Today I had my phone in my pocket and it over heated and locked up. It wouldn't respond to any button I pressed. The only option I had was to let the battery die.

Anyone had this happen?

A new software update is out geared toward stability however no mention of security.

Just curious, did calling plus (LTE calling) come with this update?

I just checked and I'd have to say either no or it's very well hidden.

Wouldn't LTE calling require a FCC repass?

It's in the beta stages currently, so I don't know if it would or not. That's a good question though. I'm sure someone on here knows the answer.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
