Flag pole tower

Has anybody ever seen one of these before? It's a sprint LTE tower with 1900 mhz voice. It's one of the few Shentel hasn't added 800 mhz voice yet. It's located in Fort Valley, VA.

Yeah. I've seen one single one for T-Mobile in Sonoma County (Windsor). Northern California....at a mortuary...

There are tons of these in many markets, I have seen about 10 just around the city I live, all different carriers. They sometimes take a few moments to actually notice what they are, which points to them working as a camouflage if you will, very well.

This one is at a library/community center. With Fort Valley being surrounded by National Forest, I'm thinking they didn't want an "ugly tower" ruining the view.

Shentel has at least 3 in winchester. The one at I81 and 7 has 800 on it for at least 2 months now. Haven't had the chance to check the other flagpole sites yet.

Many cities have them. Especially those with nimby's or where HOA's/cities/towns have really strict rules as to what can and can not be built.

 

Here in Orlando, Fl there are a few too.

 

I actually would not mind seen more of them around. I like to see the colors up!

I mean, most of the places that AT&T puts those camouflaged towers are actually surrounded by trees. It looks ridiculous standing on its own.

I-75 between Tampa & Naples is loaded with them in Florida. Some have flags most don't, just a weird looking pole.
