SimCity

In other strange news today, Electronic Arts has finally pulled their collective head out of it's ass and is slated to release a new version of the classic SimCity in 2013. I'm such a happy person right now. I've been waiting for this day for so long. Hopefully they will release it for OS X in addition to Windows.

A Macintosh Plus? Wow. I never got to use one of those. In elementary we had Apple IIe's and Mac LC's. My grandpa bought a Centris 660av and bought SimCity 2000 for me to use when I came to visit. I love that game and always will

I remember the apple IIe. I had a computer class that we had to type 45 words per minute to pass. I changed the clock settings so I could type 65 or so. Ha ha

I grew up playing it on the Commodore 64. The little squares filled in with more black as things built. Hahaha...it changed so much since then.

Yes it has digiblur. I still use SimCity 4 sometimes.

I did play sim city, but it wasn't until late in its life. My parents didn't believe in technology or something. Our house was like the dark ages. I did a lot of hunting though.

Didn't believe in technology? You poor tortured child, lol. My mom embraced technology because she used it at work all day long.

I had a Nintendo, and then my dad won me a Playstation. I had a Sega Genesis. Plus all my computer games. And computers in the house since I was 8.

I had a VIC 20 with only a tape drive (I think it was a 1531 model). I learned 6502 machine language before I even learned PASCAL, C, or FORTRAN.

This made me think of this Futurama episode with the robot who had functioned off tapes...

Didn't get much into the sim city game. I played dinopark tycoon though as a lil kid...

Old days there when computers had the GIANT floppy drives to play like Indian trail. Lol

I liked Dinopark Tycoon. Didn't play it too much as I only had a demo copy.

    • Has anyone experienced a ridiculous amount of difficulty with Google messages with RCS enabled?  It has been a train wreck for me for the past year so I now use WhatsApp.  That works very well for all of us.... Android and iOS.
    • Probably not worth the fiddling given that that's a few percent of the band. Also, if they really wanted to push my assumption is there are still guard bands in play for the n41 carriers so they could fit two "100 MHz" carriers into 194 MHz anyway. Looks like minimum guard band is less than 1 MHz and a 100 MHz channel is only 273 30 KHz resource blocks, which is a bit over 80 MHz total, so if they really wanted to pull another 5% or so capacity out they could.
    • Saw that for a while. Now back to n25 + n71 + n41-100Mhz + n41-90Mhz.
    • S23 and S24 (at least ultra versions) have 4xCA NR. I currently have n41+n41+n25+n71 most places I go.  I think select devices have 2xCA upload but I do not think it is in widespread use yet. CA is still mostly download focused.
    • If they use n41 + n41 2CA, people that are somewhat distant from the cell site will have an OK download but the upload will be a disaster.  Upload capability on b-41 was always a disaster on the old Sprint Network.   Now, with n25 + n41 combination, even the more distant users have a more decent upload.  I see n41 + n41 + n25 now with my S22 and I understand that we will see 4xCA with newer phones in the future.     I also see n41 + n41 + n71 sometimes too. Also some other combinations of 25, 41, 71.  I would think that eventually we will see AWS paired with n41 too.  What I am not sure of is ----  when I see 3xCA on my S22, I can see the 3 channels involved in the download but I am never sure just what I have on the upload. I do not think I have 3xCA on the upload.
