Here's the address he gave for the tower photos.

597 Kumie Lane, Reno, NV.

Yeah, I caught that on the photos. I'm still keeping an eye on the few towers in Rancho, but not seeing any work done on them. I'm sure it will be coming up soon, but that doesn't help the anticipation making it a drag. I'll be in San Diego this weekend, so I'll check out their newly broadcast signal while I'm there. Then come back home and cry.

YE-EAH!  hahah I will continue to look at others this week as I drive around town.

I've got over a half dozen Sprint sites in Reno that have permits issued that I've listed with address & additional information in my sponsor map if you're interested.  :)

Yeah I donated what I could right now!  Unemployed but I'm supposed to start a new job here on the 29th!  I will be looking forward to seeing the map and contributing what I can.

Aaaand finally got around to sponsoring. Been lazy. However, I did forget to put my screen name into the comments. Doh!

Edit: Finally getting to look at the map. Wow, you guys have done a TON of work. Well done! I drive by the tower on Schriever in Rancho taking my son to his swim practice. I will see what I can find when I go by there again today. Still no work at White Rock Park. I can also check and take a photo of the potential site on Bradshaw Road...there's a restaurant I frequent very near there and drive by that general location all the time. I'll upload photos as I can. And is the location at Gold Camp Drive the communications center?

You know, since I'm driving and going straight down through the valley, I'll do a Sensorly run while I'm driving around and see if I can pick up some data for the LCV map. I know they're hurting for some signal improvements, too. I'll have to go over to that page and see what towers are in my hometown, since I'll be there, too....

Lilotimz has done pretty much all the work. Big thanks to him and his contribions on this site. Sprint should give him free lifetime service for keeping customers for their company. I know I'm holding on by a string but this site gives me a lot of hope, because the network sure doesn't convince me to stay right now.

Indeed I do. My car has a USB port up front that I can use my standard charger cord. That would be a very dead phone if I didn't....

I almost left Sprint when I bought my house. I had to get an Airrave just to have signal in my own house, it was awful. I'm really hoping this rollout improves that in the area.

I found the fire station but don't see any cell equipment. Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Yeah I don't think that the Tree Tower on Walerga is Sprint either Jay. I believe Clearwire is on there and maybe some old iDen equipment as well as Verizon, Metro PCS, and Tmobile has some new Erricson AIR's about mid-way up. Right next to the firestation though directly to the left when looking at the firestation from the street you will see a single Monopole that looks like there is nothing on it. We are thinking this is a Sprint Stealth Site that has the antenna's hidden inside the pole. You will notice 5 bars from that location as well. There is a park lighting fixture about lower to midway up the pole to notice as well. I have not walked up close to the pole to see if there is Base Station equipment below, but I think this has to be the location for the Sprint tower for this location.

I wish we could get a permit for this one. I wonder if the firestation address is maybe part of the permit?

Nope. It's located on park property which unfortunately falls under a different jurisdiction.

Here's a google image.

Okay, recon done for the day. I got photos from the following locations:

3707 Schriever

3443 Bradshaw

Sprint Center on Kilgore

Here is where I have downloaded the photos.

There was no visible work on any of the towers. The monolith at the Sprint center was crazy huge. But I took a few angle views of it to get the panel views. Hope they come out ok. Thoughts?

They are working on another tower in woodland.

this one is on county rd 99 and rd 29. Ill try and

get a better picture tomorrow.

I was talking to a guy working at Best Buy in Woodland the other day and he was saying that Sprint is scrambling to retain customers in Woodland because the service out there is so awful. This is welcome news for that area.

There is definitely some work going on at one of the Rancho Towers today I believe. Data is non-existent right now and my phone is roaming, which it never does. Also I can't get any texts out for the life of me. Could be the one 4G one on Coloma that is in progress. Maybe they are testing? The Sprint Tower on Kilgore seems awfully huge just have to 6 total Antenna's I hope when they start work they make this a High Capacity Site.

Are any of the following Sprint towers or antennas?

There are two huge sites off of Whitelock Dr, one on Atkins behind the fire station and another at the park/sports complex.

I've also just recently noticed a faux tree tower where Elk Grove blvd and Fire Poppy meet, on the golf course.

My service in Rancho has been sketchy for a day or two. This morning, I kept getting connections errors when I wasn't on wi-fi at home and reception has been horrible where it is normally clear as a bell. The tower on Kilgore is MASSIVE! That is one of their main office buildings, so I'm sure it is more than just cell panels on there. It's easily at least seven or eight stories tall. I will drive by after work on my way home again today the same three towers I posted yesterday. It will be at about 5:45 or 6:00 tonight, so hopefully if there is work being done, they're still doing it when I go by. Next week, there will be a day that I am in Rancho during the work day hours, so I'll drive by again to see if there are any lifts or NV additions.

My sister and brother in law are on my Sprint family plan. They live just over the border on the Nevada side of South Lake Tahoe. They currently use an Airave to get signal. I know there aren't many towers in their area. Would Network Vision upgrades help their voice signal get any stronger? If it helps they're on Andria Drive zip code 89449. I read back on the last 25 or so pages and didn't see anything about South Lake Tahoe.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
