Looks good so far but I forgot about dropbox. Its too late to " pull the APK you need, and drop it in the ZIP before flashing" can I just drop in phone somehow?.

Or just go to the Google play store and download it.

I've got a question. I used to long press the home button to get a list of running apps and double press it to bring up some options like voice command and google search. Those seem to be gone. Is that because of some missing .apk?

I seem to be able to crash the UI pretty easy. I've had it happen a half dozen times but I'm not sure if its Tasker related or not.

S-Voice (Double tap) was removed. We all hate it. :D If you hold menu, then Google search should launch and you can say "Google" then etc etc. If you want to add S-Voice back you can. Tasker may be attempting to launch an apk that was removed. Check the removed apks to see if you're attempting to launch missing apps.

I never really used S-voice. I did use the list of running (recent?) apps tho.

Holding the home key pulls up recent apps.

Doesn't on mine fir some reason it causes the UI to reset. I will try un install ing tasker.

One thing that must be s coincidence is I am getting faster speed test results. Over 1 mbps when I always seemed to get about .5->.8.

Wiped everything. I get a message that says unfortunately the UI has stopped

The back ground goes black and the bar across the top disappears. A few seconds later they come back. I will try again next weekend. I'm back on stock rooted now. I have to be able to get to Dropbox at work. Stored too much stuff there. It (dropbox) stops like 3 times with a pop up I have to hit on a reboot. I couldn't un install Dropbox or re download it. I'm sure I did something wrong.

I think I screwed it up with restoring stuff with titanium backup.

The extra "with" before the word titanium was so redundant and was a typo that had same word twice annoyed me so much I had to remove it...

I should just give up typing on a phone.

That will do it every time depending on what you restore with any ROM. You have to be careful on what you restore.

I use Dropbox daily as well with no issues.

I thought it would be a short cut way to get everything back with the settings. Next weekend I will do it the right way and reinstall from the play store. There a good way to get all the stored passwords, saved notes etc back?

Chrome, internet app, color note, pandora, waze, etc...

I usually just install the app from the play store then restore the data of the app.

Never ever restore any system app. Like trying to put Ford parts on a Chevy.

This question is for anyone when Digiblur said to back in an apk (Dropbox for me) you need from the removed files "drop it in the ZIP before flashing" it goes in data/app where com.sensorly.viewer.ver.2.2.2.5ga.build.2164.apk is right?

Also is a factory reset the only reset you need to do in TWRP or do you have to go back and do cache, system  etc manually.

Messing with my phone intimidates me for some reason. I will build a pc from scratch but phones I just feel like I'm sure to muck it up and have to go to the Sprint store with my tail between my legs or something.

I just install Dropbox from the Play Store.  Not sure what the one they include is for.

If you need other apks that I removed those go in the system/app folder of the zip.

After you flash the zip do the factory reset in TWRP.  Samsung devices are easy to flash and very very hard to brick.

Looks like everything works right now. I just used Titanium backup to get a couple things data back.

I don't have all my apps back in yet but I make a restore image so if I find one really trashes it I can go back to working in 5 minutes.

I wasn't expecting any difference but it does seem to show up in the numbers.

Even I would say there really shouldn't be a noticeable difference but maybe so with a lot of nonsense cut out freeing up possible resources.

Glad to hear you got through the rough spot and tried it again.

    • Excuse my rookie comments here, but after enabling *#73#, it seems that the rainbow sim V2? requires n70 (I turned it off along with n71 - was hoping to track n66) to be available else it switches to T-Mobile.  So this confirms my suspicion that you need to be close to a site to get on Dish.  Have no idea why they don't just use plmn. To test, I put it into a s21 ultra, rebooted twice, came up on T-Mobile (no n70 on s21).  Tried to manually register on 313340, but it did not connect (tried twice). I am on factory unlocked firmware but used a s22 hack to get *#73# working.  Tried what you were suggesting with a T-Mobile sim partially installed, but that was very unstable with Dish ( I think they had figured that one out).  [edit: and now I see Boost sent me a successful device swap notice which says I can now begin to use my new device.  Sigh.  Will try again later and wait for this message - too impatient.]
    • Hopefully this indicates T-Mobile hasn't completely abandoned mmwave and/or small cells? But then again this is the loop, so take that as you will. Hopefully now that most macro activity is done (besides rural colo/builds), they will start working on small cells.
    • This has been approved.. https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/fcc-approves-t-mobiles-deal-to-purchase-mint-mobile/
    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). They do have a reserve level. Nationwide 800Mhz is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  T-Mobile did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, FWA Mobile in RVs in Walmart parking lots working where mobile phones need all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71, 90% 5g.  93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77 also with its shorter range.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
