Question about a Monopole

Gotcha. Kind of what I was thinking as well. Now my next question would be which one looks like it has Sprint on it, as the Sprint tower listed for that location is supposed to be a monopole.

And the giant cross ones are in the "holy molly" category. ..

 

My redheaded cousin is named Molly. But holy moly, I sure would not call her "holy."

Pretty much. One panel per sector, all squished very tight together. Then they put a sheath over them and you cannot see them anymore. This pole and the red and white one next to it are on a golf course driving range, and the poles support the stray ball net.

The closest tower to me is also a monopole. I had thought it was a large flagpole but wondered why they never flew a flag. ha!

 

Are there any technical challenges to upgrading these types of towers when network vision comes? Hopefully all that new equipment can fit under the sheath.

Definitely a challenge. I haven't seen one yet. But I'm keeping a good watch on the one near my home to see how they do it.
