Network Vision/LTE - East Kentucky Market (Lexington)

I believe the second tower in Danville has been upgraded to LTE. Getting a much stronger LTE signal in areas served by that tower -100 to -89 lots of the time I'm on it, but my phone has issues keeping it once it finds it. That probably has more to do with the home I'm in than anything (basement mostly)

I'm not sure on the answer to this but tonight I stopped in at a restaurant on the southside of town and while waiting to get to the window for my tea I looked at my phone and noticed the LTE meter was reading -79. That's the lowest I've ever seen it anywhere. When I looked at SignalCheck it said I was connected to the Hightower rd tower (it was only a few hundred yards away LOS), which would mean it too has been upgraded and turned on recently. So that is 2 of 3 confirmed so far in Danville. Very nice.

Looks like a new monopole might be going up in Richmond.  Wonder if Sprint will be on it.

What is the general vicinity of the new tower? Was in Richmond today but I didn't see anything.

In the storage complex behind Casa Fiesta and Waffle House.

With all the development at Richmond Centre, Sprint greatly needs to improve their coverage on that side of town.

I never got it. Probably because Atlanta is largely done?

I haven't gotten one either. Although I live in Louisville now I still have a Chicago area code from when I lived there. I'd guess that they are only sending it to people who have numbers in areas that are either recently launched or where the official launch of LTE is eminent. It's also possible that it's just a PR thing in select markets to attempt to give people hope that NV is coming.

hey guys just wondering are any of you in the Lexington/Danville/Somerset areas able to connect to 800Mhz voice at all?   several reps have told me that 800Mhz voice was completed in Sept (I believe on a tower that was 1.35 miles from my house not sure if they meant the whole area or not)    I joined Sprint Oct 31st/Nov 1st  (ordered phone/service Oct 31st and activated on Nov 1st) and have never once been able to connect to it.    I have the iPhone 5c  so dunno if it's actually the network or the phone it's self

Ok thanks  I'm just wondering if it has anything to do with what someone mentioned in another thread on here about Ericsson  blocking the 800Mhz  even tho it's installed

If the tower has NV upgrades then they would have installed the necessary equipment for 1x800 but it just hasn't been activated yet. There are hand-off issues from CDMA 800 to 1900 which usually results in dropped calls. Because of this issue they really need to turn 800 voice on in clusters but Ericsson doesn't work on sites in clusters. I'm hoping with the progress in the West and East KY markets that they we will see a surge of 800 sometime in Q1.

That makes 2 of us  LOL  where I live I usually have 3 bars (or dots since it's an iPhone) or less  sometimes it'll go down to 2  then 1  then lose signal completely and I have to either turn it off and back on or do an update  and sometimes when it loses signals completely  the update doesn't even work so I have no choice but to turn the phone off and back on   gets quiet annoying to say the least lol

Some funny business going on in Danville tonight. 1xRTT, 3g, and 4g all flashing on and off. Roaming one minute, not the other. If I remember correctly it was like this in the days leading up to LTE being launched. Crossing fingers for 800 this week
