Will Sprint continue Unlimited Data once Network Vision is done?

And that's because you are afraid to use your data with caps, my friend. If you had Verizon LTE, and it was unlimited, I bet you would be finding all kinds of new ways to exploit data usage on your device. Tiered data controls usage more psychologically than anything.

 

I'm certainly not picking on you. You definitely couldn't use any of your unlimited Sprint data before. And there is no guarantee that we will be able to keep ours. Hopefully the Sprint network is going to be better and still unlimited when you come back at the end of your new Verizon contract.

True, I also have WiFi at home and work that I use while I am at those locations. I am keeping my usage to as low as possible, but even with unlimited data, I only topped out over 2 GB in a month a couple times and it was barely over that. I did notice that a couple speed tests on LTE used 47 MB

When I had unlimited AT&T, I was using 4-6gb a month. Switched to Sprint in October and because of the much slower Sprint data speeds where I live, I only use like 700-1gb a month. I'd definitely agree with the notion that faster data speeds lead to increased used of data.

I do not buy the whole 'unlimited will not last forever' because all the big companies have tiered plans. This is kind of like them saying, 'okay no more future technology growth'. If you think 2GB is going to tide over the 'average' user in a few more years, then you have another thing coming. I believe that if Sprint can pull this off then they can show that unlimited can work. I FULLY support throttling once you reach a reasonable threshold. I have never used more than 5GB. Hotspots should NEVER be unlimited as this encourages power users from using as much as possible. I don't know if anyone remembers, but Comcast tried to get the broadband industry to move towards tiered internet plans. This fell through before it even got off the floor because of customer complaints. Comcast still does throttle power users who try to download everything they can, because no one needs to be a bandwidth hog (seriously can someone truly watch every TV show out there?). Needless to say, even Congress said this would move our technology backwards. I think that the tiered system may not be here to stay if Sprint can provide reliable service at reasonable prices after NV, as it may be possible to get the Big Three to jump back.

In the last 3 months I have used about 4GB, but then again I have Clear for when I'm in Vegas or Visalia. Sometimes I use my phone to tether, and then I use more data, but lately has been less usage. (This is combined 3G, roaming, & 4G data.)

I hope so.. I left verizon becasue they droped their unlimited plan! I think it will give sprint the lead in the long run.

I really hope so that was the whole reason why I switched from T-Mobile almost a whole year ago as of next month.

My guess would be that sprint wants to get ahead of people who might otherwise use lte as their primary home internet, consuming hundreds of gigabytes a month.

I could see Sprint continuing to offer unlimited as well as tiered plans. I can also see them going to a speed limited plan if LTE is successful. Needless to say, as long as they aren't beating ATT or VZW, they will have to continue with unlimited.

They could get some more money for unlimited and allow the smaller data users to pay the same or less than what they currently pay for unlimited. They might start motoring abuse a little more, but if they aren't GB Nazis right now, why would they when they have LTE freeing up spectrum?

Well its tough to go data crazy with 200kbps speeds...lol

 

Now once they have NV out and ppl are able to pull data 5x as fast in places like mine, they might re-think it...maybe that bundled T1 backhaul is the secret to being able to afford giving Unlimited data plans. Lol

LOL, yeah, I could never have used enough data to make a difference on my slow 3G speeds.
