tgrgrd00
Strange. On sensorly it appears that your signal got stronger when you got to Algiers. But man I applaud your efforts. That's doin work there. Thanks.

S4GRU
Sensorly has updated now.. I see it now. Definitely that site. Now that's LTE out in the middle of no where. There's nothing out that way but Middendorfs and a bunch of bayou weekend shacks on the water. Almost as desolate as my area, theys just gots mo crawdads. Did Middendorfs ever reopen after Katrina? S4GRU
I mapped it from the harrahs casino until I got off the ferry in Algiers. Lost signal once I got off the ferry in Algiers Hey! That ferry didn't follow the dashed line on Google! That is quite a route it took, though. Robert
15th
It did when I was in the water. Lol but I was able to connect again in front the ferry in Algiers. Speeds are worser then 3G. 35kps down and 31kps up
digiblur
Hey! That ferry didn't follow the dashed line on Google! That is quite a route it took, though. Robert Must have been another boat. That site is definitely in Algiers with that signal strength. -- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"

I know I am new here so I must have missed how you have a connection to the area. But yes Middendorfs reopened after Katrina and in fact they have expanded with 2 side by side restaurants now. digiblur
whoa, do y'all see the dark Purple going further up Canal Street? Maybe we have the Tower placed wrong and it is at the beginning of the Quarter? You might be right! The pieces come together now. The one member said he lost it when got off the ferry even though sensorly for some reason showed the signal getting stronger. Now it looks like it was redrawn and gets weaker. The signal is the other way! Probably one of the two sites Southeast or East of the Superdome. The site Southwest of the dome has it's RRU up but is too far to be that strong. I'm thinking some swippy swapping was done on some scheduling due to the Superbowl to offload some 3G data onto LTE. That is going to be one area that could prove to be difficult to figure out which site is broadcasting due to the buildings. But with a little leg work it could be possible to narrow it down. Did I say I'm jealous? Time to go work on the wife again for that trip to Hammond this weekend.
kevins669
The signal while I was on canal was -112. As I drove down Decatur it got to -106. The only one at that end of canal is at royal, on the holiday inn. The sites on gravier, carondelet, canal@Claiborne were not broadcasting 4g when I mapped it out out today.
S4GRU
I think we may have a Sensorly polluter in NOLA. Some custom ROM's will misrepresent their findings to Sensorly and only report a strong signal. Looking at the logging up Canal, it appears to me to be falsely solid. I don't think the signal is that strong based on the cross reporting on Peters Street. Something is amiss. If you find your device is falsely reporting signal strength to Sensorly, please stop reporting until you fix your ROM. Thanks. tgrgrd00
Edit. Nevermind my post if the data is polluted my thoughts aren't valid. lol
versaiphat
LTE, didn't get anything higher than 2 bars drove around and couldn't find the tower. It might be on the other side of I10 I was on the highrise (eastbound) and got great signal.
kevins669
I should have also included that it is quite possible that they turned it on (Canal @ Royal) after 4:30 today, or that it was being lit up over the course of some time. I guess I will figure it out tomorrow, based on the sector ID.

Dem_Bone
Hey everyone... digiblur
I wanted to give a huge welcome to the new members and possible lurkers in this thread. Myself and the rest of the NOLA market folks appreciate all of the help with tracking down and mapping the new signals with your devices and Sensorly. We couldn't do it alone and the more eyes and devices on the road the better! I do want to let you know about an additional resource that can help you with things. In the Sponsors forum we have various maps with completed sites, locations of other sites, and even spreadsheets tracking the work and/or signals were are finding in the NOLA market. It's an exciting time in the NOLA market! Already within one day of LTE site activations, Sprint has far surpassed the previous 4G WiMax coverage. This is only a the tip of the iceberg and is going to get even better by the day! Throw the site some "coin" and help out with the bandwidth/server bills and join in on the other NOLA threads with even more information available to your fingertips. Continue here: http://s4gru.com/ind...come-a-sponsor/ Thanks again and welcome to the NOLA team of LTE hunters!
