  1. Interesting that the WSJ is saying today that 1-there is no breakup fee, 2-but instead a roaming deal if the merger does not go through. 3-Both DT's Tim Hoettges and Softbank Son would be co-chairmen with Legere as CEO. TS
  2. Now we sit and wait for the merger announcement ball to drop. I feel it won't drop till Nov 10th or later, after the 2 upcoming conferences.
  3. I don't know where commentator Clifton K Morris got his info from, but his comments are totally wrong. Just because Softbank has bank in its name does not mean it was, is a bank.
  4. For those that like to root their phones and have a Note8, it has been rooted. See xda thread. (Snapdragon version)
  5. True, but one never knows. One thing that bugs me is that there is no mention of a breakup fee anywhere. If there was, I'll be more comfortable
  6. This is the status report from the FCC as of yesterday afternoon. Slightly better than the report I posted a few days ago on twitter. TS
  7. I posted this in the Marcelo thread, but I'll post it here as well just in case. Interesting podcast with Craig Moffett about the Sprint and T-Mobile merger. The merger, 5G and everything in between. Deal of the Week: Sprint and T-Mobile May Finally Do It. TS out

  9. If history is any indication, it won't play well. One doesn't even have to look too far, just look at what happened to Sprint and Nextel. Got bigger, but the service and everything with it went to hell. Nextel went the way of the dodo. Sprint has slowly gotten better but is still in too much debt. I feel that Sprint will soon join Nextel in the afterlife due to blunders and mergers that should not have happened. At least that's the way I see it.
  10. There are two things about this that bothers me and its 1-Everyone and their mother doesn't value the spectrum that Sprint has at the correct level it should be. Getting Sprint at this market value is a great for T-Mobile but not for Sprint. and 2- Not to get political, but this merger will in due time affect the workers and result in job losses. Whatever happened to that promise that Son did to Trump about bringing 50,000 jobs into the economy.. I smell a a foul order and the fish is not even in the pan yet. TS out
  11. Std-Mobile Which has double meaning. Sprint T-Mobile and Dish Mobile and STD, since having the other two will be like having a STD.
  12. With the rumor turning into reality of a T-Mobile / Sprint merger coming true, I sense alot more of these type of articles will be coming out if not already out. If one is happy with a company, great, if not, do what you can to leave and go to the one that you think is better and shut the F up, nobody f'ng cares. But no, they rather jump on the bandwagon and complain saying "I've been a X company customer 10 years ago and they suck and will never go back"
  13. Lets not get ahead of ourselves, wait for the announcement and then hash it out.
  14. That I know of the naming convention is as follows.. S = Series, Smart Series M = I have yet to find any info on what this letter means N = Note series 950 = Model number (whether that has a more drilldown meaning, I wouldn't know) U = Universal (although in some outlets I read it is for Unlocked, Previous phones had this indicator as the carrier like P for Sprint) Maybe @Deval can break it down as to what it actually all means. 15. Seems the majority of the members don't have a problem with the color scheme. The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few or the one. So for those that do have an issue (and are using Chrome browser) then just install the "Dark Mode" Chrome extension by Grephy. It makes the site (or any site) look like this... The cool thing about it is that its a toggle in the upper toolbar that one can go back to regular bright view or dark anytime you want. TS out
  16. I forgot about this. Didn't check yesterday. Just checked now and yep its there, just like Sammobile said it would, but instead of version N950USQU1AQ1 it is N950USQU1AQ15. 198.04 mb in size. Downloaded and installed but my hope it would have the camera update to allow modes download and it is still not there. bummer.
  17. I noticed that there is no Dual Camera mode in the camera settings as well as no way to download any other camera modes either. The S8 and S8+ had the download icon. So I sent both Samsung and Sprint a tweet as to why its missing on the Note8. I then noticed that SamMobile tweeted about a few minutes later that Samsung is issuing its first OTA update for Note8 users that specifically deal with the camera within the next day or two. Hopefully it includes the missing download icon and dual camera mode. TS
  18. hmmm @Deval I guess you are right. anyway... So I got two Note 8s, and one of them was capturing very good signal, but the other one was not so much. Little did i know that it was on roaming for a day and a half on verizon. Ugh. anyway now its back to Sprint 800 and Clearwire B41²
  19. I have about an hour before I leave to my concert, but as I check out the phone, I am surprise that it weighs less than the S8+ when every review says otherwise.
