  1. Yes, this could be a new Sprint commercial.

"With Sprint, when you travel to Mexico, do not worry about a big roaming bill -- just worry about being robbed, abducted, or killed."

    ;)

    AJ

Everyone seems to make the same remarks when visiting Mexico, of course if you hang in shady areas or tend to engage in illegal activities you will be exposed to these type of crimes.

Recently traveled to Mexico City, Puebla and Tlaxcala for business purposes and found no problem whatsoever.  Of course, you always have to take precautions as a foreigner as you are easily identified in the crowd, due to what you are wearing, your accent and/or actions.

  2. I am due for an upgrade but nothing has peaked my interest yet. I am waiting to see which phones come out with 2x CA in the fall

Same here, been eligible for an upgrade since Nov 2014, been bombarded with emails to  upgrade to Samsung S6 , LG G3 or Aquous Crystal, during the weekend got a letter letting me now that I can add more lines but I need more Android Stock options.

Staying with my Moto X until it dies or just buy a new moto again lol to replace it.

  3. Las Vegas network has greatly improved as I visit at least once a month. I seen the network from unusable 3G to LTE inside  casinos and even great 3G speeds. A year ago, my phone was useless so I just kept it in my pocket to avoid poking fun of me for having Sprint. My friends have verizon and ATT.

So definitely give props to  Sprint for all their hard work.

  4. Well heres my report after being on the strip all weekend. Must say great improvement overall in the city. LTE was excellent. Web was accessible in  casino floors with good speeds that I was able to update my feeds and look at instagram. Monte Carlo had LTE inside the casino floor as well as MGM and SLS.

Stayed at Excalibur on the 7th floor and 4G was available, very slow but was able to load some pages. 3G inside the room was faster and more stable. I have the Moto X so was only able to test drive Band 25.

I was able to experience the upgrades on the network since Im a regular in Vegas, before NV pages would not load when connected to data so pretty much my phone was useless and the phone battery would drain.

Phone calls had a few issues when trying to call my brother on sprint, call would dial but nothing could be heard while the call was active. Took me a few times to go thru and reach him.

Pretty satisfied with the network. Keep it up Sprint.

  5.  I received the Moto Update service last week, but I believe the Soak Test is for the GSM version, not the carrier version.

    FYI..

The OG Moto X 2013 to receive Lollipop 5.0.2, Soak Test already in process.

Lollipop 5.0.2 is just right around the corner.  Yah!

  6. I'm headed to Disneyland next weekend. Last time i was there in October coverage was awful. Have there been any improvements i can, hopefully, look forward too! Thanks in advance!!

There are definitely improvements at the park with occasional hiccups, I was there on March 3rd for a passholder event from 6 to 12 am and cell phone calls were not able to connect, had to dial a few times in order to call my friend on ATT. My phone usually stays on 3G all the time even when I do airplane mode.

Also the toon town small world area is very good. Adventureland, Frontierland and parts of tomorrowland are nearly impossible. I will add I don't think any of the other networks are any better, it's just overload, well ok maybe slightly but.... bad for everyone.

You are correct, convention center has great coverage and usable data, Toon town and small world have great 4G connectivity.

  7. I had so much fun with the S4GRU Prize Moto X that I bought myself a 32GB Pure Edition Moto X with the $140 off Valentine's Day special.  It was coming via FedEx from China...but it is stuck in customs!!!  YEEEARRGH!

  8.

As for HD calling, I could've sworn that HD voice works over 1x when not using WiFi calling (I'm on the everything for-$40+tax plan for the moment), despite running through Bandwidth.com's blocks of numbers. I'll have to try it out again, comparing with my N5.

I was not able to do HD calling on 800 when I was visiting Vegas since 1X 800 is active up there. I tried calling from my Sprint to my RW Moto X and nothing and backwards and no luck.

  9.

When you are running speed tests, you are just pumping roughly 50 MB each time through the network.  That is 400 Mb.  Do the math on how that increases network loading and congestion each time -- the very same network loading and congestion that you seem to be trying to diagnose.  It is like using a potent carcinogen to detect cancer.

    AJ

Haha I knew this was coming sooner or later. lol

Don't know if this is news,  but I have been getting very good B41 connectivity and speeds inside the Anaheim Convention Center all week (e. g.  24 down,  4 up).  I have been on my LivePro as a hotspot,  and the Sprint network has worked flawlessly. (It has also been good inside the Hilton.)  FWIY.

Yup, Band 41 is great at the Convention Center, I was able to test drive during NYE when I attended White Wonderland. I was able to upload pics to facebook on Band 41 but further down the building, it switched back to 3G still with good data connection.

  10. I have had no luck trying to get it to authenticate with a Sprint SIM card. I'm sending it out tomorrow or Wednesday to one of our Staff who have the N6 style Nano SIM and see what he gets. It's not looking promising. But the Moto X 2014 is a solid device. Too bad Sprint didn't carry it.

    Using Nexus 5 on Tapatalk

    Thanks Robert for the update.

Yes, the Moto X 2014 is a badass device and still extremely mad at Sprint by not carrying it.  Im  impressed how Band 41 behaved during new years eve at the convention center in Anaheim with the Moto X 2014 on RW. its a hard decision but  really dont want to leave Sprint...

  11. I'm in Costa Mesa, and still waiting for B25, seems like the last towers are waiting for acceptance. I do get B41 from a tower that is behind my Oficce building but it doesnt reach too well as I am in the other corner of the building. Battery life suffers due to the low signal but speeds are great, better than my Moto X 2013  that parks in  3G which is unusable. I'll  post some screen shots after the break.

  12. Any word on Sprint activation?

Still need to work on it, since when turning the phone on, it will try to activate if it fails it will continue as a never ending loop, when it tried to turn it off it activated on RW :/ I gotta see if  I can enter the MEID on the sprint website and do a swap phone. I doubt it because the phone is already activated on RW/ Sprint so I believe I lost my chance. Unless the guys on the other thread report their methods/testing on how to activate with Sprint.
