  1. The maps are great and I am glad I donated. Is there a way to see when the 3G only sites are slated for a LTE upgrade?

Nope, it all depends on backhaul and fiber availability.

I'm stoked that finally in the 92503 area of Riverside they've turned on LTE. I got a decent spends of 5-6mbps. I was at In N out off the 91fwy off Madison and Indiana. Anyone who where is the nearest tower??

There's plenty of sites upgraded in that area but none with LTE. Maybe its in testing.. I encourage you to donate to have more info of where towers are located.

  2. Ever since I have my LG G2, I noticed that the LTE signal is very week yet the 3G signal from the same tower is fully available on 1900 Mhz.

This is not just one tower, I noticed this all over Las Vegas. Could this be related to the LTE not being fully deployed / under construction?

I have seen this on most towers that have been listed as 3G/800/4G. Has anybody noticed the same issue?

I have experienced this multiple times since I visit Vegas often when I'm inside my room at hotels. For example, while at Monte Carlo, I'm able to call and surf the went on 3G better than when connected to LTE, same when staying at Excalibur, I assume its because of low signal on the LTE side and not enought 4G sites on but  no problems whatsoever when walking the strip. The only place im able to get 4G is inside Hakkassan but as people fill in the club it switches back to 3G.

  3. I follow the acceptance report... when it says updates were done in my area if i donate will i be able to see specifically where the update was done?

After donating, you will have access to interactive maps that point the exact location of all Sprint towers and their acceptance level. Either 3G, 4G, 800... etc. and other cool info

I live on the ouskirts of Rubidoux and noticed I was getting LTE just outside my house as I was leaving for work. It looks like the tower is off of Pioneer Street? I didn't lose LTE signal, until I was halfway up limonite

Theres only 1 4G site accepted in your area so that is probably the site you are connecting to, its near the 91 freeway. The site you mention is near Rubidoux boulevard so pretty close to Pioneer Street.

  4. JUST picked up LTE in Jurupa by Pyrite and Mission. Speeds were horrible the past couple days and I wasnt able to load anything on 3G. Checked my phone after lunch and did a double take because I saw the LTE in the notification bar.

Just did a speed test 3.70Mbps, nothing to write home about but at least it's usable data now.

Had a similar experience the first time I got LTE. Use to stream Pandora while at the gym, 3G was unusable for a day and then the next day LTE showed up on the notification bar. Pretty pleased with NV

  5. The only place I had problems in the convention center during the NAMM show was in Hall A and the arena which weren't good. I take it that event was at that end. Totally forgot about that as I was hardly in that area but yeah, it wasn't working over there.

Also a trick I've used in the parks is there is "open" wifi in the Disney hotels and also at the new Starbucks in Downtown Disney if you really need to send photos or something, this works.

There are Starbucks in each park now but they unfortunately do not offer wifi.

The Rave was in Hall D, entrance started in Hall A then checkpoints going thru Hall B, C and finally reaching D.

I don't visit the hotels often neither Starbucks but thanks for the tip.

Hope the 2 legacy towers near the park be upgraded soon so we can enjoy LTE in all the spotty places.

  6. Yes, Disneyland can be brutal but it is exceptionally better than a year or so ago! There are some defnite dead spots, especially at Disneyland, California Adventure overall is not bad at all and LTE almost everywhere.

I was shocked this past January at the NAMM show / convention at the convention center (accross Katella from California Advanture) and I was able to upload videos to my work website with no problems at all. In past years you could barely make a phone call and realistically couldn't do anything via 3G. Incredibly better. When you combine the crowds of the parks and the crowds of that convention (upwards of 50,000 people) it's pretty amazing it works at all.

I went to white wonderland at the convention center during NYE... and the network was unusable inside the venue probably because of the amount of people in Disneyland and at the rave. I got 4G few times but got disconnected even tho an upgraded tower is really close to the venue I had usable service during the night. Texting was not working either... My friend on verizon had 4G and was able to use his phone, We both have the moto x. Had to use the free wifi at the convention center.

I have to agree with you...I have Disneyland season passes and have seen a huge difference this year compared to last year! I remember last year trying to use the park app and couldn't even get it to download

Yes, you are correct. Service is getting better and better. I remember not being able to get data at all or make calls at the park. Sometimes I had to try and use 4G Wimax on my Nexus S to send text messages over Google Voice to reach my friends.

LOL, I still used the good old Nextel at the Park in January on a "framily" trip because the Nextel Direct Connection (without need of a Network) had very good range within the park. I was actually at the Disneyland Hotel while the kids roamed the parks and I was able to communicate with them without an issue.

Wow. Were you using  Direct Talk ? The off network feature on nextel phones?

  7. Was at the NCAA Tournament last night inside Honda Center and man, 4G LTE speeds were unusually brutal. I got full bars of LTE but I really couldn't do anything with it like check stats of the games. I'm not sure if Sprint has a DAS installed inside of Honda Center but as soon as I got out onto the Douglass & Katella, I was getting 15megs download. 0.05 megs down/1.84megs up with a 48ms ping time. I do understand that speeds slow down with a bunch of people in a small concentrated area but to have unusable LTE is frustrating. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

This is similar to what happens in Disneyland, I was there on Wednesday, was connected with full LTE bars but the connection seemed to be death. Also placing a call took a bit of time probably like 10 seconds before I heard the first tone...

Can't wait for NV to complete.

  8. We have recently got LTE in Barstow. I'm pretty stoked and have been trying to map. However whatever areas I map don't show up on the coverage maps. I start sampling and let it run, I don't turn the screen off and I see it running getting samples, then I end. What am I doing wrong that it doesn't show on the coverage map?

Mapping on Sensorly does not upload immediately. It might take a while to update on the maps. It also depends if there's backlog on the servers.

  9. Why would you leave? They will increase the prices but honestly there is not much out there if you need wireless internet. I use a lot more and I stick with them and hey I remember the extra fees I had to pay for Nextel but it was worth it because I had free data while roaming in Mexico in addition to killer coverage in my area. I just hope Sprint gets their 800 running soon.

Definitely loved the free data on Nextel phones when I visited/traveled Mexico.

  10. Currently in Disneyland but this lte here is pretty impressive in the park. My videos and pictures uploaded like a breeze. Ran three speed tests and so far so good. I'm surprised that it works this well on such a crowded area.

Currently on the nexus 5 but haven't picked up lte 2500.

Glad to hear. LTE coverage in Disneyland has improved drastically. There are still zones where LTE doesn't reach but there's a few sites waiting for upgrades near the property. I can't wait...

  11. Well looks like your wait is over. I just installed Kitkat on my Moto X

Seems like you were one of the 1000 customers that got the update first after it started rolling out to all users

  12. So I got 4G LTE today at my school here at Cal State University Of San Bernardino.i know there is a tower on campus but I've been around the entire campus and there is no tower. All there is are single panels on a couple of buildings. It's not mapped on sensorly and unfortunately I have an iphone 5. Did a couple speed tests:

    Test 1: 6.23down .98up

    Test 2: 5.47down 1.62up

    Test 3: 5.95down 1.16up

The tower is installed on the ceiling of a campus building.

  13. Yup, rebooting or resetting the phone won't fix the issue. This is bug in android 4.3 on the Gnex.

I feel you about upgrading, I'm under contract until December of 2014 and decided to get the deal from Moto X.

I love stock android, even tho the Moto X has a few bloatware apps and slight moto customization but I think I can live with it.

Still thinking of buying the Nexus 5 but debating. lol

  14. Yup, the 4.3 update has issues as you mentioned.  So many users are having the same problem as you mentioned and no fix has been posted or at least clarified by Sprint. I wanted to roll back but I'm no expert in rooting and swapping radios on phones....Unfortunately had to upgrade from the Gnex to the Moto X.

    Have you contacted Sprint?

  15. Can anyone comment on the seal beach and south long beach areas?. It seems to be one of the few places left without lte. Can anyone tell me if any new towers have been accepted recently?

Kinda tough to see what towers are accepted after the updates. There's tons of sites on the map and hard to distinguish.

I encourage you to become a sponsor so you can check out all the cool stuff S4GRU has to offer.

  16. Just ordered mine too. Thanks for letting us know.

One thing I noticed is that shipping method states

    Shipping method

Pick Up In Store, Ship Accessories
    Credit card:

    American Express
    S************ L********
    XXXXXXXXXXX*****0

Any one got the same after selecting free shipping ?

  17. I went to the Sprint website to see if they updated the LTE coverage map yet, and I still saw their LTE footprint stop at the LA county OC boarder. I really want to see what area they qualify as "Santa Ana / Anaheim", because I've been around Garden Grove and Westminster, and I get LTE all over the place there (and Sensorly confirms this). I do know Tustin/Irvine and south don't really get LTE yet, but I'm just curious to see what parts of OC are included in "Santa Ana / Anaheim" or if they really will just show a giant LTE coverage area around ONLY Santa Ana and Anaheim in their coverage maps.

Work in Costa Mesa, LTE covers were the 57 ends and the 22, all the way down to euclid and the 405. Pretty good coverage of LTE. I was impressed that all towers in Santa Ana were 4G LTE accepted real quick so saw it coming.

Hope coverage increases as LTE disconnects when I step into my office building.

  18. What do you mean when you say "launched"? I am in Anaheim a lot and it is really spotty. Just yesterday nothing would load on 3G when I was right next to Disneyland! I Anaheim my phone can only make calls and send texts unless connected to WiFi.

Service has improved in the Disneyland area. I was there on Saturday. The park was real busy, LTE and 3G speeds were usable.

Last year, the Disney area was useless, calls not going thru, texts failing to send no 3G service. I'm enjoying NV.
