  1. This. I remember when I first got the Evo, my 3g speeds were decent (usually 600kbps -1mbs) but I was waiting for more Wimax coverage. Unfortunately Wimax was nothing but a bunch of hot spots around town and I saw my 3g speeds decline over the next 6 months until it became almost unusable in many places around Houston.
  2. I think you might be on to something - similar to how cable and satellite companies will will have new customer promos. Hoping it won't be the case though.
  3. I had SERO back in the day, but when the original Evo 4g came out and it wasn't available on SERO plans yet I had to switch.
  4. I have the same $45 framily plan with unlimited data, and I got this plan by going on Craigslist to go on someone else's framily ID that they were building up. I can tell you many of my friends would like the same plan that I have, but they don't want to go through the trouble of getting enough framily members.
  5. I'm on a framily plan, and while it would suck if people left and my bill became more expensive, I'll never be "stuck" on framily as I'm not in a contract and I could always change my rate plan with Sprint.
  6. I'm on a maxed out framily plan (10 users), so this plan isn't for me. However, I do like that hotspot is now included in the data allotment, but at the same time overages should have gone away and replaced with throttling once data is exceeded. I would trade unlimited data for a big bucket of data, hotspot, and throttling.
  7. Here's another pic of Sprint Spark in action (I'm in Houston):
  8. With LTE Advanced carrier aggregation, in the future couldn't Sprint do carrier aggregation with it's G block and pcs spectrum? Isn't that what AT&T plans to do with intraband carrier aggregation soon? I would think that would be easier for Sprint since pcs and G block are much closer compared to the bands AT&T are using for carrier aggregation. **of course I don't know as much about this stuff as some of you, so if it's not that easy please be kind
  9. Does any one know if text or mms will come through when on WiFi calling?

    LG G3

Not at all. I came from the LG G2, and it's pretty much the same size but slightly wider. The HTC One M8 is taller/longer but narrower.

    LG G3

Coming from an LG G2, battery was a lot worse the first few days with the G3. Now my battery drain with low usage is about the same or slightly better than the LG G2. This is also probably because the Qualcomm Battery Guru app has finished learning my habits and is now active (I also had this on my G2) With the wifi calling feature, when I'm at home my battery standby time is amazing because I'm only connected to wifi.

    LG G3

Just upgraded to the G3 from the G2 yesterday. Surprised that the phone isn't much bigger at all - about the same height as the G2 but just slightly wider.
  13. When can we expect build outs to begin? Or, rather that's an impossible question to answer because it's up to each individual rural carrier to deploy, but do we know when they are allowed to start deploying using Sprint Spectrum? (on either b25 or b26)

On the GPS issues, what I've noticed is if I'm already on the road and try to use Google Maps for Navigation the gps is way off. If I use Sprint's navigation app Scout it puts me in the correct location. I've only used navigation sparingly so far though so but that's my experience.
  15. Great offer and I'm glad to now be a premier sponsor.
  16. I would think that too, but when I can get download speeds over 40mbps I doubt that congestion/capacity is the issue.
  17. Here in Houston, when I'm on b41 my upload speeds are usually around 1mbps, where as my downloads are usually around 20-40mbps . It almost seems like the upload speeds are similar to the old wimax cap of 1.5mbps. The fastest upload I've seen is around 3mbps, and that was a great signal where I was getting around 55mbps downloads speeds.
  18. I beta tested a smartphone earlier this year by signing up here: http://www.betabound.com/ Every once in a while they announce smartphones or other gadgets, but I got bored pretty quick on my first beta test and never signed up for any more.

    LG G2 Users Thread!

I used GoSMS back during the gingerbread days, but over time the developers kept adding more useless features and made it bloated. For third party sms apps I like Textra (very lightweight) or Hellosms (uses sliding cards which I like). Now with Hangouts being able to handle sms I think it's good enough and don't use any other sms apps.

    LG G2 Users Thread!

You're right, never noticed this before because I was using Hangouts as my default messaging app.
  21. How many markets does do they have with 20x20 aws lte? I thought it was only a few markets (Dallas is the only one I know off the top of my head)

    LG G2 Users Thread!

I believe starting with Android 4.2 group messaging became a standard feature in Android, but you do have to turn it on in the message settings. Check your sms app in the MMS settings and you should see group messaging. Prior to Android 4.2 you had to use a third party sms app such as Textra, Handcent, etc. I use Hangouts as my sms app and the group message feature is there.
  23. The beta test should explain which wireless carrier sim card you will need, otherwise we cannot answer if some random sim card would work with some random phone on a random network. The only answer is a definite maybe.
  24. Forgive me if this has been answered, but does Sprint's implementation of WiFi calling allow mms messages to be delivered over wifi? I've tested WiFi calling on T-Mobile but disabled it due to not being able to receive mms while on WiFi calling.
