  1. If you become a member and can scope out some towers that would be great. Blacklick is kind of a dead zone for our members. We have one tower that is showing as never being checked while a couple other towers being checked as late as 8/1/13. It is incredibly possible that work is being done in your area / these towers are now in progress.
  2. For anyone who hasn't done this already, you are crazy. My battery life is SUBSTANTIALLY better than it was before with this modification. I changed it late Friday and my weekend use is dramatically different than work week. So at first I didn't believe my results. With almost two work days under my belt I can honestly say that the comparison is not even close. I've logged just under 3.5 hours of talk time today (25% battery left), while before I couldn't get past 2 hours. Sorry for the late "Thank you!". I had to dig up your post, I couldn't remember who it was.
  3. Wow, I really appreciate you responding to this thread. I know I may have been belaboring the point about not wanting to use GV, but that was because I couldn't stand the integration. When setting up GV for the first time, I never saw the option for skip / didn't understand what it would do... Just tried this method and it appears to do exactly what you've said. Only does voicemail and therefore doesn't route all of my calls thru Google. So far so good. Thanks again.
  4. My old phone was traded in to Best Buy when I purchased the N5. I'm sure the battery is dead by now / no luck for me to change it. I've tried updating prl / profile with no luck either. Yea, I'm with you. It's weird that I got the provisioning part to work / or at least it feels like it is working. I just don't understand what the average joe would do. I.E. My mother. If she somehow stumbled onto this phone from a previous phone I wouldn't hear the end of it. Why can't I get visual voicemail I had it on my Evo 4g and iPhone, blah, blah, blah. I simply wouldn't have a good answer for her...
  5. Same error when trying to look for updates here as well. I'm really surprised that this hasn't been addressed by Sprint. I guess everyone uses Google Voice, but I simply cannot stand it.
  6. Tried this to no avail... It's weird because now I'm getting a text message that says "Provisioning successful CFGv320c.0=08cNSeVB3xt//CM", but trying to leave a test voicemail the application refuses to work. I get the voicemail if I dial one, but otherwise no dice...
  7. Could not agree with you more. I simply cannot stand Google Voice and prefer the Sprint Voicemail application. I am surprised to find that Sprint has yet to issue their visual voicemail application to the Play Store with Nexus 5 support. I check Google at least every couple of days to see if the status has changed... I'm also surprised at the lack of applications that fill its void in the Play Store. I wouldn't mind paying for a legitimate version or using a 3rd party application, but most of them don't look anywhere near as nice as the stock Sprint application.
  8. Both of these options are too low for me as well. Thanks for the thought though.
  9. I cannot remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure this feature worked when I was out and about. The Nissan dealership my car was at called and it showed up with a picture... Maybe I was home, I cannot remember now. Wouldn't it be possible for the information to be sent before the phone call came thru?
  10. Anyone have a car dock that they use for their Nexus 5? I had an EVO LTE with their car dock and grew to love it. I was able to use Tasker to turn on my bluetooth and put the phone in car mode automatically. The CD dock that was shown earlier won't work for me, because the cd disc in my altima is actually below the radio and in an awkward location. (six disc changer version). EDIT: I found this car dock at Amazon and one reviewed mentioned the Nexus 5 is compatible right out of the box due to Qi charging. If only they had the Qi charger built into this magnet. That would be AWESOME!
  11. Hmm... I must admit the battery life I'm experiencing is not real great. With my Evo LTE I was able to make it the entire day (5pm) before needing to charge if I had to charge then. With the N5, it's 3:30 and I'm at 14%. When I'm working from home with Wifi on, I don't experience the battery problems near as much. I know the service at work is having an impact, but I thought I would have the same if not real similar battery with this device. Maybe it's Play Services? My phone doesn't seem to want to sleep for any amount of time. I also wonder if the merge of Hangouts into the SMS client is part of the problem. I don't have reliable internet data (1X constantly) and wonder if that is part to blame.
  12. OK Google only works when on the home screen with the display on. It is not the same as the Moto X version where it will work whenever. Are you having a problem when the home screen is on?
  13. No, you are on an EVO LTE which has SVDO capabilities. All new phones that are tri-band will NOT feature SVDO. Look to the wall for a better explanation as to why.
  14. As you noted I'm not sure because I'm not a premier sponsor. Still saving up money for that. I checked the two sites I had seen some work done on, but the one site was colocated with nv so they probably weren't live.
  15. Anyone confirm Band 41 with the Nexus 5? I went to what I believe to be a live 2.5 site to no avail today. That included turning off the appropriate bands and multiple reboots and airplane modes...
  16. I'm sorry I think I confused this matter dramatically... You still need your msl. I was just saying that the code with data enters the menu. I'm sorry.
  17. Sorry to confuse *#*#DATA#*#* works for the Nexus 5.
  18. 3282 works for the Nexus 5. I just changed my band priority / enabled Band 41. Here's to hoping!!!
  19. I'll be honest, no signs of any LTE on my Nexus 5 from the office. All this talk about Band 41 has me awful excited though. Work has been really busy this week, I wish I could enable the band and get out to scouting some of those sites. Something about 40+ meg Down and 15+ up just makes me want to cry with excitement... However, my office is a steel trap. I can barely get any service and the tower is less than 1 mile away, .
  20. The AT&T chargers sound too good to be true... Has anyone been using them for a little while that can still vouch for them? Thanks.
  21. Alright, I've done some quick Google'ing and cannot find any information on this and it is blowing my mind. I'm sure it is a user error, so I apologize in advance. Are we unable to add apps to the lock screen for quick opening? I.E. Add the gmail icon to the lock screen in order to open straight into it. I know I had that on CM10.2 and assumed it was an AOSP thing, but maybe it was a Cyanogenmod enhancement. Thank you in advance.
  22. Thanks, I just downloaded this and set it up. Have you noticed any ill-effects on battery life? It mentions that it could cause wake issues (device unable to sleep)... Unfortunately, just got the phone yesterday so I won't be a good sample but I'll keep everyone posted.
  23. Hmm... that's weird, you are using your s3? The iPhone does not map any Sensorly trips. Maybe your settings are set to only upload when on Wifi and you haven't been on it yet? I know that is how mine is setup so it doesn't automatically upload to Sensorly.
  24. Nothing yet, haven't messed with the phone too much because I've been at work.
  25. Coz, nailed it. They were being unreasonable and not giving me the correct amount for my buy back. Which they have since phased out. Therefore, none of the workers understand how to do it. As crazy as it sounds, I was eligible for $210 from my buyback and another $60 for my black tie protection that I paid up front... In the end, they wouldn't price match but oh well. The phone is awesome. I love it. I'm up by the Cleveland airport for a gymnastics meet and the service is sub par and I'm still liking this phone. I didn't think that the evo was slow, boy was I wrong. As for band 41, I can't wait to sniff it out. Unfortunately it seems like I need to wait for Sprint to release an update. I'll keep everyone posted.
