  1. I should have been more clear. I was talking about Clearwire equipment. I see your point being that it would be a different subcontractor. However, it is possible that a contractor received a contract for a couple of NV sites and a couple of WiMax sites, no? Any information as to TD-LTE upgrades on existing Clearwire equipment? I am curious as to what timeline we should expect for that.
  2. Is it possible that he was talking about TD-LTE 2600? Wondering if the rumors I have heard have any traction, just hearsay at this point...
  3. Thanks for the detailed and thorough response as usual. As a consumer, I must admit that I'm still frustrated. I held off on the HTC One because of the lack of SVDO. I then get excited about Tri-band phones only to find out they will have the same limitation. Oh well, here's to hoping VoLTE handsets come sooner than later. Does anyone have a rough timeline for those on Sprint? Thanks again.
  4. So, to confirm I'm not reading this incorrectly... No SVDO or SVLTE means I cannot use LTE / 3G Data and voice at the same time? This seems crazy to me. Why does it seem the trend is going this way as opposed to the opposite way? I can't be the only person to use the hotspot function while on a conference call at least once a week...
  5. Thank you for taking the time to explain this. I'm sure you have explained it many times before. That makes perfect sense and it always bugged me, being that I'm in a Samsung market.
  6. Great find! Were you able to get any screenshots of your connection / engineering screens? I'll mark you down on the spreadsheet.
  7. I was on and off the phone also using navigation. I'm wondering if that is why. I thought you mentioned a couple of sites with 800 down there... My phone usually has no problem hitting 1X800, so it must have been that.
  8. All I have to say is what a day... I haven't dropped so many calls in my life. I dropped at least three into work from 161 to Westerville. Dropped another half dozen on my way to Ohio University and dropped a solid 4-5 more on the way back directly to the house cutting thru the Pickerington area. 1X 800 cannot come soon enough. That was brutal. Talked to a Sprint rep just for the hell of it. "Columbus market will be launched in 4-6 weeks, 6 weeks max." Ha. If he only knew as much as we do about the NV upgrades...
  9. Good find, but it appears that this site was found by amcferrin90 on 8/20. Good picture though.
  10. Here's to hoping, that area is always a dead zone. Usually good signal, but terrible data speeds.
  11. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I had always thought this was a Sprint tower only to find out that it is T-Mobile and every other vendor known to man. It does not show up as a Sprint tower on the sponsors map, I believe the signal comes from behind the Tim Horton's on 256. That tower could definitely be close to up and running. Anyone around the area that can go check it out?
  12. That makes sense and I appreciate you posting this. In talking with Sprint chat, she mentioned specifically that the discount would no longer apply and that is why my bill would actually increase making it a bad move. I'm currently on a 1500 minute family plan and wanted to move to an unlimited my way plan. I'm not complaining about how much I pay, (Sprint's rates are simply good, especially with a 20% discount) I just really wanted to make the switch for the guarantee of unlimited data forever. I'm nervous, scratch that paranoid, that I will wake up one day and no longer have unlimited data. Quite honestly that is the major reason why I'm still with Sprint. Thanks again.
  13. The lame thing about this is that you no longer can use your corporate discount on these plans. Makes it a net add of $5 for me with only two lines. I wanted to change in order to ensure I wouldn't lose unlimited data, but I'm not giving up my 20% discount... Seemed kind of silly to me.
  14. Where at in Westerville, those are pretty good speeds for that area...
  15. Thank you for the information, I didn't know that.
  16. Maybe airplane mode? From my understanding, it is similar to 4G. If your phone is currently using the connection it won't switch. Even background Gmail checking or other auto sync's may cause it.
  17. Sounds encouraging, but to confirm that doesn't necessarily mean backhaul improvements, correct? I.E. 3G upgrades mean new RRUs and cabinets but possibly the same slow speeds... :'(
  18. Ouch... Three more months, I would have expected more movement. Oh well, I guess.
  19. Any chance you could post another coded update (10-10-100)? All the information we have is no LTE sites until November
  20. If you put this in the Columbus permit thread or the sponsor forum with the site id we can update the spreadsheet. Thanks for the update!
  21. I'm with rf40928 as for the link. However, the link in Coz' signature is working still...
  22. Any updates as to the East side, Pataskala area? I've been checking the towers near me religiously to no avail. I know the permits have been pulled, getting anxious...
  23. NV equipment for Columbus is Samsung.
  24. I wonder which tower you are connecting too... The tower right next to I-270 is the one I connect to at work and it has the same old coverage / speed. In our building, I'm lucky to get one bar for most of the office. I can't wait for 800 to get accepted on this tower.
  25. Yes, you are correct. Where are you getting these speeds? Do you know what tower you connect to? Thanks.
