  1. Unfortunately, if you look at the Morse Rd tower it had quite a bit of reach as well... I bet this is only the one new tower in Grove City...
  2. I definitely did my part today. I wasn't able to snag engineering screens, was on a conference call while driving around, but I mapped an easy 400-500 points from Stringtown down Jackson Pike. I'll re-iterate, I can't wait for LTE in my area.
  3. No worries, just didn't want you to get in trouble.
  4. Can't use site IDs on public page. May want to remove that.
  5. I meant to add, I won't hold my breath until thenight84 is able to confirm it, .
  6. My office is in Westerville and I noticed quite a few signal / drop call issues yesterday but figured it was a fluke. It appeared that the S. Street tower is the one that appeared down. The one on Lauffer is what I was jumping onto, but I'm simply too far away for usable signal. Words cannot describe how excited I am about 1X 800...
  7. Great, I have one of those myself. I guess the goal is to eliminate it of course. If the range is truly 8-10 miles I'll be fine.
  8. How far away are you? I was shocked to see it so far away... Dumb question, the bars on the EVO show 1X coverage, right? Thank you all in advance.
  9. My commute on 161 East from I-270 (Westerville) has become more and more cumbersome with data calls. I used to have full bars of service at all times and no issues with voice, but the last week or so it's been different. Another interesting note is that I was having signal issues and noticed that I'm pulling 1X 800 from the Welsh Rd Site. Quite a feat considering that is almost 15 miles away... Is this even possible? Can't wait to see the next LTE site live! Sorry I mashed the wrong button and that's why the ringtone volume is showing...
  10. No, I was headed to Easton for lunch and then went straight home after that. I received LTE just a couple blocks from 71 heading east on Morse. Just surprised to see so much Sensorly purple based on that one tower. I guess I really do need a new phone to get a better radio, .
  11. Got back a little bit ago from the Morse Rd site. I was delighted to find my phone, EVO, pick up the 4g signal on it's own while on a phone call. Did a couple of speed tests and checked some websites and Facebook. I cannot wait for this to be available everywhere. The speeds were just incredible compared to usual. The service didn't reach too far, by the time I was two streets west of Easton I had already lost the signal and tried flipping airplane mode a couple of times to re-engage with no luck. I know Robert had mentioned that we would be seeing mostly 3G upgrades to start, is this tower just a coincidence then?
  12. If they completed the tower and antennas with no back haul that's exactly what you would experience. Not the norm though. Speeds should be in the five to ten meg range. What's your ping time of you don't mind me asking...?
  13. I was perusing the "mark sites in progress" thread and it appears that generators are in quite a few of the pictures of the base stations... It would make sense to use them to power the legacy / new equipment while the other equipment is still being installed. I wonder if that is in fact what they are doing. As an aside, I was travelling back from OU Wednesday on a work trip and noticed clear as day a Sprint site with new panels being installed. Does anyone on here live down there?I'd say it was within 5-10 miles of Nelsonville area.
  14. I'm apparently blind... Where are you seeing the accepted sites? I was checking the NV Sites completed website and don't see anything for Ohio. Thank you in advance.
  15. I've been getting quite a few dropped calls on 70E towards Reynoldsburg / Pataskala. Just before and after the 270 loop. I've been keeping my eyes out, it looked like there was a crew working on a tower just east of 270, but I wasn't able to snap any pictures...
  16. In researching back to find Robert's quote I may have found the answer to the question. He mentioned that they would do 3G first. I apparently glossed over or didn't want to accept the answer he provided "to prevent disruptions from handoffs". I guess to confirm the main question, in order for a 3G NV completed site to be upgraded to 4G only backhaul needs to be provided? Is that correct? Thanks again.
  17. I know Robert mentioned that they are going with mostly 3G upgrades first. This is a pretty ignorant question, but is that to assume that the cabinets and the fiber are to be upgraded while leaving the RRU's in place? Or do they perform all of the work and simply don't "flip the switch" to 4G. I guess more specifically, what is the difference between a 4G site and a 3G NV site..? And yes, this ultimately leads to the next question of, why would you only do 3G first? Sorry, just trying to understand the strategy. Sprint certainly isn't giving us any feedback. Thank you all for your help.
  18. That is nuts... Both tonight and last night I dropped a call at the same place on 310 just south of Morse Rd. I noticed (phone is in car dock) my service plummet from just past 161 to around 1 or 2 bars and then just drop altogether. Typically I have almost full bars the entire commute. Until I step into my house of course... Gotta love it. At least the airave works, . We had heard that there was quite a bit of work being done in Newark are you able to confirm any of that? Thanks for the updates!
  19. Any word on the tiny area of Pataskala? Permits were pulled relatively early on...
  20. Unfortunately, Ehrpd does NOT mean that the towers in your area have been updated. What it means is that in the future, could be 1 month could be a year you will have LTE and it helps transition from tower to tower. From my understanding, it is a very easy "flip switch" process for Sprint so they do it pretty arbitrarily. As for the wiring, that sounds positive but we would really need pictures before we can make sure. Most cell towers have multiple carriers on each tower so it's difficult to confirm it is Sprint without that. Thanks for checking it out!
  21. The glass is half full, the glass is half full, the glass is half full
  22. We don't appear to have a permit pulled for that location, I sure hope it's not the T-Mobile or Verizon upgrades we've seen...
  23. Maybe this should be posted in the in progress sites as well? Nice find!
