  1. Two words.... Tri band

I'm assuming you are sticking to your lte evo until they come out. I'm just thinking the next htc phone won't be released until next year.

  2. I started with an Otterbox Commuter since I loved the one on my Evo LTE.  I liked it but for some reason not as much as I thought I would.  Maybe I was still getting used to the phone.  Then I got the Best Buy Platinum case (same as the Seidio Surface) and I like it more, but now I'm wanting something with a bit more protection.  I'm considering now the Incipio Dual Pro CF, but my concern with that is the silicone stretching out too much over time.  What stinks is like Luis said; it's hard to find any of this stuff in stores.  Something that probably would have been a 10 minute decision if I could compare them to takes a while since you're ordering stuff online.

My thoughts exactly, to be honest, I would have bought a case on the spot at this point I just want something else to exchange every now and then. These retail stores are honestly losing out on some money... Oh well, amazon it is then :P

I know there is 20% off accessories at sprint.com also(no need to buy two or more). I do like me some amazon though haha.

Who wants a Gold HTC ONE?

I think it actually looks nice, a bit flashy though.

Pretty crazy! Starting at 3k, what's the upgrade price? Haha :P

  3. What cases do you guys have? I am thinking of a commuter otterbox or a cruzerlite. I'm not too rough with my phones, more for scratches and the rare 5 foot drop on possible concrete.

  4. Sprint is the only carrier I'm aware of that demands unlocked bootloaders on their devices, so I would say chances are pretty good.

You should at least be able to flash AOSP builds if you're rooted though, regardless.

What do you mean? Isn't the EVO bootloader locked? It is just super easy to unlock.

If your phone was actually bricked then you wouldn't have been able to fix it.  Its not hard to root unless you simply don't follow directions well(no offense to you just speaking in general)and its even ridiculously easier to get s-off.  You need to decide what is more important to you, vanilla android or slightly older software with sense 5.  If vanilla android is more important then just root and flash, you can even find youtube videos walking you through the process.  If they release an aosp build for any other One other than the One from google it will probably be for the developer version only.  Carrier specific devices will more than likely be SOL without root.

I haven't had any issues on wifi 3g or 4g.

Good point, rooting is easy. Honestly my only gripe is not being able to get ride of blinkfeed. I wish it was treated more like a widget, I think it would really cool if it could be resized like modern widgets.

  5. I can only hope. Also, has one used Google Now to find the title to a song(alternative method without using "whats that song" widget? If so are there any issues? My friend got the One on AT&T and when using Google Now to find the title of a song it just "listens" but never finds it even though it is connected to LTE. My EVO LTE will find it in secs on a 3g. I have tried clearing the Google Search app's memory and cache and uninstalled/reinstalled updates. Can anyone confirm that it works properly on the Sprint HTC One?

  6. Slim to none but why not root?

I am not the best at it. I recently rooted my evo lte and bricked it and took about a day and a half to fix it.

  7. Stupid question: The sticker on the back of the phone...keep it or get rid of it? I just got my Diztronic case and it looks terrible on there.

    Turn the phone off

    Hold volume down+power

    Go down to "show barcode"

It should show the phone's ID number which is on the sticker, if so I do not see a reason to remove it.

  8. I have a white speck case and like it a lot.I also have a defender otterbox that I pushed the hard screen protector out of. My finger kept hitting the lip of the opening over the home buttons and speaker. It was very annoying.

I am using a basic crystal clear tpu case on my mines, it protects very well and you can still see all that sexiness that is the htc one.

The black speck has gotten my attention, I did see a clear/black tpu case on amazon that looked cool also. I have a commuter for my evo now but I want something a little more then. How hard is the speck to get off? When I sold a white one and put it on for the customer it seemed super hard.

  9. What cases are good for the one? Is anyone using a speck case? I'm usually use otterbox but this time I want to try something different that still provides good protection I and is not too thick.

  10. well what kinda phone are you looking for?  Screen size, whether it has tri-band LTE or single band LTE, brand, etc?  I have an upgrade I can use now too but I am going to wait until the tri-band LTE phones and I want a big screen size.  I am looking at getting the Galaxy Note 3 but that won't be until October which sucks since I want to upgrade now.

I am curious if the HTC One Max phablet will be available by October as well.  I would like the opportunity to be able to test both devices out before deciding to upgrade.

Honestly, I want the One Max if it is tri-band and has a stylus similar to the Htc Evo View. I am flexible with screen size so 4.7+ is not really an issue if it has the feel similar to the Note 2 and not like the Nexus 7.

  11. EVO 3D user here that is due for an upgrade.  How is the LTE in orange county so far?  I've been battling with drop calls and super slow 3G network on my EVO 3D.  My guess is that I need to upgrade to a LTE phone, but before I do so; has the LTE service stablized?

I considering switching over to AT&T or Verizon if they're still working on upgrading the towers.

Check out sensorly, it is pretty accurate. As for 3g it will probably be similar. LTE is definitely becoming more filled.

  12. -2016-2017 before anyone can even think of implementing 600 mhz service.

-Sprints deployment will be 5x5 for SMR 800, 5x5 for PCS 1900 & carrier aggregation later on, and 20mhz for TDD-LTE 2.5ghz w/ carrier aggregation.

How easy would it be for the big two to aggregate if they deployed lte in a similar fashion but for say 15x15 or 20x20? Also, after the 2600mhz is deployed does that mean Sprint will be able to do a 20x20 configuration?

  13. This was actually a complaint for those how upgraded from the OGEVO to the EVOLTE. I have to say that I still miss my multi color LED.

Doesn't the ogevo only have orange/green also? I'm confused what phone has more colors and how it works any different. What colors does Samsung have? Any examples?

  14. Something I recently came across, not sure if you guys already new about it and I didn't know if I should have started a new thread. There is 600 MHz spectrum going up for auction. Does anyone know how much is going up for sale? Will it a lot better than the 850 MHz sprint will soon deploy or just slightly better? Also, newb question; Sprint is currently rolling lte in 5x5, will they eventually do 10x10 in the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz or only the 2600 MHz?

    Thanks in advance,

    JN

  15. Are the rumors that the HTC "T6" phablet will come out in Sept/Oct around the same time as the Note 3?  I'll be curious if this T6 phablet will have the same aluminum body as the HTC One and whether it will carry a stylus with HTC's own software.  I would really like to see HTC come out with a multiwindow function like Samsung. I think its great what Samsung has done with the multiwindow functionality.

LG makes an ok attempt with Qslide for multiwindow functionality but its applications are still very limited to LG's select few.  If LG can allow devs to develop for LG's Qslide it would help a lot.

Hopefully HTC will not be scared to do a split screen considering all the lawsuits back in 2012. They can use the same stylus and revampted software similar to the HTC Flyer/Evo View. Would be pretty cool though.

  16. There's also a rumor that HTC will update the ONE to 4.2 soon, and there have been leaks of the full build.

I hope that happens soon, that would be cool

I hope with the update the ability to remove blinkfeed. I know people enjoy it and it has had some good reviews, but not for me.
