  1. So by this logic the Nexus 10 is a fail because the processor is a 1.7 dual-core whereas the first nexus 7 is a 1.2 quad-core? Personally a 1.7 dual-core paired with 2GB of RAM performs a lot better than the 1.2 quad-core with 1GB of RAM; not too mention the Nexus 10 is at 1600p vs 800p resolution on the Nexus 7. The 720p 4.7" screen is being pushed by the same GPU found in the HTCONE, S4, and the new Nexus 7 all with much higher resolutions at 1080p,1080p, and 1200p. If your opinion is opposed, then it is like saying the evoLTE's screen just wasn't clear enough for you. I think the point of this device is also all the additional chips that are running nearly 100% of the time such as the additional motion and audio chips for the "camera activation shake" and the "Ok Google Now". I have a feeling if these features are successful we will begin to see them integrated into future Nexus devices and in possible future android versions such as 5.0 which will ultimately be rolled into HTC, LG, and Samsung. However, it is a fail if it is indeed not a tri-band device. On a personal gripe, I wish that all future phones have the dual front facing speakers like the HTCONE, I have been since speakers should be facing the front since the HTC Touch Pro 2 since it looked like it already had them which it did not.

  2. How's the chrome tab mirroring? Any stuttering when playing local files? If you know what "TV portal" for android is can you see if works with that?

I haven't used the mirroring too much yet, it does seem a little shuttery. Hopely there will be an update to improve that. The mirroring is only used with a computer, no mirroring with a phone or tablet.

  3. So, I haven't followed the release at all... Does it do direct screen mirroring? If so, it's a cheap, less crappy way of doing allshare cast (I think that's what it's called). I want my emulators on the big screen!Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

It is an awesome device. It is not direct mirroring. For example, I was using it with my nexus 7. I started a video on Netflix through the chromecast and then started watching YouTube videos on my nexus 7 all at the time. Essentially the phone/tablet is telling the chromecast what to play and it streams directly from your home WiFi. I even tested it by starting a video on the chromecast and then turned off my tablet while it was playing. My phone was able to gain control without interfering with the video.

  4. Have any of you guys get a chromecast? they are pretty cool. It is the perfect addition to the htc one with the IR sensor to control the TV and everything. If no one has, look into it haha.

  5. Are you talking about the $25 Google Play promo?

If I remember correctly, it could take up to 8 weeks to receive the code.

Yes, I thought I read it should take 2-4 from their website...hmmm

  6. Neither have I and I did both.  Driving me crazy.  They sent me an email almost a month ago saying my $100 was on it's way.  I also haven't received an email for either of the two Ones that I bought with the $25 code.  I resubmitted the request a couple of weeks ago but still nothing.  I bought both phones thru Best Buy.

I think they took the page down also. I google it and when I load the only link that is to htc's website it does not load.

  7.  I got it with that $100 trade in, i did that and already have the money from that.

Did you buy it through htc or through Sprint? I am on sero so I had to go through a sprint corp store.

  8. I am not sure what the policy is here about discussion of us selling old phones. Anyone here want a rooted EVO lte? unlocked/s-on/with "stock with goodies" ROM.

*If this is not allowed, admins please delete this.

  9. Has anyone seen this issue as reported on the SprintZone app?  The time-stamps on the notifications due to a supposed charging issue/overheat, if accurate, I was not even charging the phone during some of those times... Could this be a fluke in the SprintZone app, or something else?

I hide my sprint zone app, I can't stand it and it is forced on this phone.

Any word on when the United States will be getting 4.2? Its been some time now..

More like 4.3 =] haha I am kind of hoping they skip 4.2.2 and go straight to 4.3. I told myself if HTC lags with the updates with the One I am probably done with them, especially since the Moto X is coming to Sprint =]

On another note, did any of you buy your htc one during the htc 25 promo and received an email with the code? I submitted mine earlier this month(I bought the phone within the promo dates) and I still have not received any email from them regarding status or anything.

  10. I even talked with store manager and threw around the S4GRU name.  They looked for all rate codes and anything they could do to sell it off contract.  They couldn't do it.  If I wanted to walk out the door with the new Netgear Triband LTE MiFi today in Lone Tree, Colorado, I had to sign a two year agreement.  So I did, even though I had planned to pay full retail and do a month to month.

    Robert

Did anyone recognize the name when you threw it out there? When I was still with Sprint I was the only person, I would talk about this site but would join.

I imagine the conversation went a little something like this...

    :P

    AJ

"I'm Robert from the website S4GRU" haha the 2nd Anchorman end if this year! :-)

  11. If it's waived online and they RIS it should automatically take it off when you do the confirmation. I've never seen it waived manually and I've never seen a RIS customer that expected it waived come back and complain. I just know I've always been told not to touch it lol

When I was training my lead told me "NEVER" touch that waive activation check box. Shortly after I was hired I became a keyholder and one night during holidays 2011 I had a customer come in with a RIS that did say waive activation fee but when I added the line in RMS it still added it. My lead was off and I called her (No other lead, asm, sm was there) and she said "remember that check box I told you to NEVER touch? Check that box now". I did that a few more times during that promotion and the SM never said anything after the first one and said that is how it was done. After that I never touched it again and I left Sprint in the middle of May 2013.

  12. I had no problem when I asked telesales and I quote "can you check and see if you can waive the activation fees for me?" When I pre-ordered two iPhone 5's the morning they went on sale. She put me on hold and then came back and said ok. It must've been my lucky day or something.

During this time they customer service was able to do more. The first wave of changes was the cancellation fees went up to 350 and 14 day exchange, all happened when iphone 4/4s came out. About mid 2012 was when customer service started getting more strict. Corporate would send updates in the playbook telling store employees that customer service will no longer waiving fees if they were not supposed to and for store employees to not advise customers to call customer service after upgrading/activating with the expectation of the fee being waived.

  13. The option is still there in the RMS system to waive in corporate stores. But we aren't allowed to touch it. If it shows up in a report you waived it you are going to have to answer some questions from your DM and probably get some documentation. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I can second this. I have only touched that waive activation check box about 4 times during the same promotion during only one holiday season. It was a promotion that customers had to do a "reserve in store" which was waived online but not in store. The customer would have to bring confirmation and when we pulled it up it would say waived or not. The activation was waived for new lines but not upgrades.
