  1. Thanks. I'm current on updates
  2. Does Sprint usually announce when they turn a LTE system on in a market? Granted I know SG4RU will probably be a buzz before an official announcement.
  3. Does anyone know if the S3 needs to be cdma/LTE toggled or airplane toggled to pick up its first LTE signal? I thought if I just keep it on the cdma/LTE and request data it will seamlessly go between the two as I drive around. I assume the indicator on the phone will notify me of 4G in a area. I read of forcing it to LTE but that seems silly unless you are just testing.
  4. What exactly does HD voice give you? I currently can call the office and almost always figure out who is answering the phone. What more do we really need?
  5. Ha! You get the rabid dog award. Speed Tests at midnight! Good find.
  6. If your are only "beginning to get frustrated" you should make it to the rollout. The great part of this forum is the tone. Try to keep things upbeat. Some guys have put an incredible amount of effort into keeping us:rolleyes: the sprint customers informed. I get frustrated but it probably demotivates everyone posting it. Use that thumb muscle to toggle from cdma to LTE. Find us some LTE!
  7. For those of you that use the calendar a good bit. Here is another way to navigate Month- week -day. I know you can two finger to bring up the side menu and select. You can also pinch to go down ie: month to week and unpinch to go up week to month.
  8. So if I get that "We cannot complete your call at this time" while dialing a land line on the airvanna that never really gets to the tower its a VOIP call and it is going thru the internet to some magical land.
  9. MSC = a switching device in the Land line system? Just to narrow it down a bit more I was able to call out to a verizon cell and my wife's phone acts the same way. No land lines out cell to cell ok incoming ok I rebooted the airvanna and phones while the airvanna was down I could call out while roaming (triangle) on another network. as soon as airavnna re provisioned same thing. Comcast connection 30-34 mps down 8-9 mps up I'm guessing it will all fix itself
  10. So everyone needs a Guru! zip 21774 New Market MD part of the Baltimore Tower system S3 Airvanna working fine. I can not call out. ( I tried 2 numbers ) received "We cannot complete your call at this time" error when calling out. I can However complete a call to *2 Incoming calls work fine. What component are they replacing at my local tower? Or is it something else completely? I put in Chat request so Sprint knows.
  11. I got mine over the weekend.
  12. Thanks for the news. Just curious. Will Shentel use the same LTE cores as Baltimore and DC.
  13. Is the Atlanta / Houston launch the expected model? Ehprd in the area –test the LTE for a couple of hours - then flip the switch after an announced date.
  14. Robert, Is this a call for help? Don't jump! SOMEONE .... GET THE NET!! Quick!!!
  15. You know if Sprint were smart they would do a "how it's made" or let some one do a ride along so we could see the work involved in upgrading to a LTE tower/System. It would be facinating.
  16. Hi Gents, I called Airave support to ask what the 2.5 version was all about. "Its the same device with new hardware to help in the hand off of the signal to the cell tower when you leave your house" That's pretty much it. No mention of a software upgrade. I have occasional problems with error code 97 and multiple texts or texts hanging on our devices. Rebooting the airave has cured it so far. My Airave 2.0 Like any other electronic device takes a bit of human intervention but for the most part functions properly. I was not able to trade mine for the new one and having a smoother handshake to the tower was not a big deal cause in 6/10 of a mile I have to pass thru a dead spot anyway. So I did not push for the 2.5.
  17. "Cell Breathing" Using that term in sentence makes you an automatic expert! I'm sure your resume would scare the crap out of me. Thanks for the response.
  18. I actually would like clarification on a related issue. I seem to remember reading that CMDA had better clarity as an overall system than GSM. But as more cell phones jumped on a CMDA tower, the radius of its usable signal would decrease. Is that true? Granted lots of work is going on but I think its just heavy traffic in the area on a maxed out system. These towers systems were constructed when 40MB hard drives were standard in PC's. Think of how much we get in emails with a hefty attachment.
  19. Hmm what should I do when I catch my first LTE signal in the Baltimore area? Thanks for the August Maps. Let's hope it puts them right back on schedule with the rollout so they can start on the other 35000 towers. Whew! how would like to wake up to that work order? I used to ride Mt Bikes with a tower tech guy he was looney tunes. I put the clutch in on a 40' ladder I can't imagine a 400' Boomer.
  20. So remember when we lose our unlimited data. Those "leeches" stealing a wifi signal from a rooted phone. How dare they! Those vandals!
  21. Not to worry Dan is just reading from his alibi list prepared by the marketing dept: 1. Birds on the tower 2. 1st fledgling Chick tried to fly today and fell to its death. Netting has to be installed on all towers. 3. Verizon worker put Ben Gay tower climber's jock strap 4. Delivery company delivered antennas to Ericsson in China instead of USA 5. We had to buy Olympic ads and we didn't have enough money left over for the month. 6 We lost the only key to the fenced in ground units 7. Apple said we had to silkscreen the apple logo on all the antennas 8. Dan tripped on his shoelace during the conference call he is suffering from a concussion. Nobody else knows what to do next. 9. Protected Snakes are scaling the towers to get the baby chicks. 10. Our service guys are busy installing Christmas decorations on the towers for the coming season. We are almost done!
  22. "several hundred more sites have birds nesting on them and Sprint won't be able to turn them on until the birds leave, according to the conference call." Tell me you just testing us to see if we are reading. Its probably the Verizon guys putting bird food on the Sprint towers. I'm sure if you send a couple of Megawatts up the cables they would leave. Oops ..... Well they are gone .... fire that baby up!!!
  23. I think he might be right. Before Sprint PCS there was Sprint Spectrum LLC. I'm pretty sure I got my 1st erricson sprint phone in 88
  24. iphone? I understand the iphone helped bring additional subscribers to Sprint. But Do they really use anymore data than an Android?
  25. Well here is what I found Kies needs a broadband wifi connection and established network. Wifi direct needs a laptop that is wifi direct compatible and compatible wifi card and at least window 7. Tether seems like my option
