  1. I don't know about predictions but I think it's an absolute must that Sprint find and execute a unified marketing strategy and stick with it even if the ride is a little bumpy. The failed approach of throwing anything and everything to the wall to see what sticks is miserable from a Sprint-slappy-who-wants-to-see-the-company-succeed point of view.

  3. I had been out of the area for a little while but discovered today that a long time 3G-only site near M-5 and 14 Mile was finally pumping out (weak) LTE. I'm thinking the LTE outage you noticed in the area was related. Often saw something similar when the initial NV upgrades hit our area ~3 years ago. I don't remember exactly anymore but I believe Sprint temporarily turned off LTE from peripheral sites when bringing a new LTE site online for tuning purposes.
  4. I don't know about FedEx Ground (former RPS) but FedEx Home Delivery delivers on Saturday at the expense of no Monday deliveries.

  6. Shipping with UPS lately has been a dice roll. I shipped a letter-sized envelope across state last Christmas. Took a week for them to find it in Illinois. Tire marks indicate it had been run over several times before being delivered. I very recently had an Amazon order get lost at the very first UPS terminal. UPS wouldn't work with me since I was not the shipper. Thank God for awesome Amazon customer service becuase they immediately shipped a replacement (at my request - next day air at no additional cost) PLUS they gave me an extra month of Prime. Say what you will about the USPS but stuff does get there even if it's a bit slower.
  7. I looked at my usage so far. . 1xxx gb international roaming data used out of 1 gb allowed (x) international roaming text messages used out of unlimited 256 minutes of international roaming calls out of 0 allowed *sigh*
  8. It took a week for my phone to finally register on Movistar network in Mexico. After a few days I started a chat session with international help. I was told the first to verify my roaming settings (which I did to Sprint Int'l specifications when I landed). I told them I already did, nothing worked. Then she asked if I had wifi access and to update the profile. I tried to update the profile but authentication failed. She gave me the roaming setting instructions which I told her I've already done that multiple times to no avail. She asked if I had a good wifi signal which I barked back wifi has nothing at all to do with the phone not authenticating with the cellular network. Believe it or not, her reply was to recheck my roaming settings AGAIN. I said eff this and ended the session. A couple more days later, I set my phone back to Global mode from UTMS/GSM and it registered with the network - which is exactly how Sprint told me *not* to do it. The first time I was in Mexico I was charged for all of my calls under Open World. I did receive a credit but 2 out of 2 times traveling with Open World I have encountered problems. I'm not terribly impressed and will be looking for roaming charges on the next bill. I took some heat in the pre-trip meeting because I said I had a Sprint plan with free international coverage and didn't need a company phone. The other guys with their Verizon phones with no problem using it made me a look a little dumber (and I don't need any more help with that )
  9. What about the site by the State Secondary Complex? I haven't been out to Lansing-Delta Twp Assembly in a while but any coverage inside that plant was non-existant last I was out there.
  10. Seeing 2nd LTE carriers on Bands 25 and 41 pretty much everywhere I go in SE Mich...NW Detroit suburbs, Howell, Williamston, Fenton, Holly, Brighton, Milford, Highland, Flint and so on. I can't say much on CA since only my wife's phone is current enough and she scowls at me when I ask her to hand it over for a minute.
  11. Sprint told me to switch my phone from global mode to GSM when I landed in Mexico. Worked okay for voice but had no data. Had to switch the phone back to global for all roaming to work properly. Data worked okay in Toluca but I was unable to get data in Mexico City no matter what.

  13. Open World works great in Mexico City and Toluca. As soon as my phone registered on the Movistar network, I got a text from Sprint confirming the Open World plan. Calls/texts and in and out to US and Mexican numbers, no problem. My LG G2 will not connect to data for some reason so I will leave the data to hotel wifi. SCP screencaps coming soon I hope.
  14. Let's just say the speedtests on my G2 are faster than her G4 when she's pulling from 2 DL channels. Speedtest peaks very high and very briefly at the beginning then just craps out. I'll have to try Sensorly. I haven't been a fan of the speed test aspect but I'll give it a shot.
  15. Seeing it quite a bit on my wife's LG G4. Speedtest app and the G4 do not play well together though.
  16. Another site in Farmington Hills just had 2nd B25 LTE carrier go online. Pulling 5-7 Mbps down on both carriers on a site without B41. Some much needed relief. Also noticed spotty LTE coverage this morning through Highland, Milford, New Hudson with some sites entirely offline. I noticed something similar in Flint before I found the 2nd B25 carrier there so that leads me to wonder if some refarming is in progress.
  17. I was finally able to screenshot the 2nd Band 25 LTE carrier that keeps popping up in the Novi, Wixom and New Hudson areas. It is a slightly different EARFCN than the 2nd carrier I found in Flint several weeks ago. (Screenshot is in the Network Vision/Spark EARFCN logging thread) There is a 2nd Band 25 LTE carrier near DTW however I haven't been able to determine that EARFCN. The network at least in the Detroit area is heavily pushing my phone onto B41 even when B25 has much better signal. Same issue with another 2nd B25 LTE carrier out by the GM Milford Proving Grounds.
  18. I was scouting around the LTE Engineering screen of my wife's LG G4 looking for any signs of CA in Flint and Saginaw. I didn't see any CA going on but a new EARFCN caught my attention while in the heart of Flint on I-475. I verified on my LG G2 that the 2nd Band 25 LTE carrier was legit and not something I caught midscan.
