  1. Has the equipment on the water tower been upgraded? I've been sick the last couple of days and haven't managed to get out and about. My phone was locked onto the Belford Rd tower pretty good the other night so I took it through town so see how far I could get. The track on Sensorly right thru town was from me on Monday night. ADDED: I just drove through Holly and nothing in-town has been upgraded. Any LTE signal at this time is fringe from Belford Rd/I-75.
  2. NetMon shows my connection as MCC 123 and MNC 456. I know some have privacy concerns with Netmonitor but I like it when tower hunting. Now, with that disclaimer out of the way...I've noticed that when I'm connected to 1x or evdo that that the MCC is listed as 123 but when I am connected to lte that changes to 310. The nid and bsid will remain the same. There are some other readings from Netmonitor I've been curious about as well. The My Network Info app shows my carrier as 310120 as it should be.
  3. Well I have to admit you are an asset and very committed to the S4GRU community. I believe that Allegan site has been waiting untouched on Sensorly for some time. I went to the Kalamazoo area last weekend. I took the long (and undesired) way down through Ann Arbor so I could get a piece of the LTE sites down there then swung over on 94 to see what I could grab in Chelsea, Albion and BC. Didn't add much if anything myself. Wife's phone was active while mine was "offline" running LTE Discovery and Sensorly. On the way back we took 69 up through Lansing then 96 to Howell then home to see what was new there. The only thing I encountered was a crew on site at Island Hwy and 69 in Charlotte but I couldn't tell without stopping if it was Sprint related. I would have loved to checked out northern Kalamazoo County, Otsego and Allegan but that would've been far out of the way since I was on the southern side (though I did map some rural area - check out 3G coverage in SE rural KZO county near Vicksburg and Scotts out in Nowheresville). While 131 to M-6 to 96 then home would be a nice Sunday drive, hard to convince the family, time budget and fuel budget to cooperate. There's new action in Flint and Holly areas so that helps me feel like I can contribute something while my immediate area is in bascially a holding pattern.
  4. Just drove by the site I'm talking about at Grange Hall and 75. Not a lick of LTE. Sat at the entrance of I-75 Aggregates cycling airplane mode and forcing lte mode. Nothing. I was in the area Thursday and this morning and only picked up the tower up by Dixie Hwy and 75. Drove directly by the site Wednesday and nothing from that site. The only thing I see on Sensorly is the tower by Dixie Hwy and 75. Some of that is my contribution. I don't think we have the same site in mind. The tower I'm referring to is not marked as In Process, Complete or anything on this site. There are no upgrades indicated for that site on network.sprint.com. I thought the possibility of NV equipment on that tower existed though my skills at identifying panels at distance are weak. This is why I asked for help from members in the area. If upgrades had occurred to that site then I thought it prudent to submit that info to Robert so our maps could be updated. One thing I am not weak on, however, is knowing the difference between the site at Belford and 75 (Dixie Hwy area) that has active LTE and the site at Grange Hall and 75 that I found no evidence of LTE.
  5. I'll have to see if I can get some usable pics of that tower then since it's not listed here as In Process.
  6. I was doing a little mapping of the newly lit site north of Holly and drove by the site at the gravel pit by Mount Holly (I-75/Grange Hall Rd). There are two towers there: one with multiple occupants and Sprint occupying the monopole. It looked like the Sprint rack had 1 NV panel + RRU placed between the legacy equipment on each sector. I'm not terribly skilled at picking out whose panels belong to who. Can anyone in the area take a gander and see if my unskilled observation might be correct? If so then this site might be ready to go live soon.
  7. Looks like strong signal readings in Flint at the I-69/I-75 interchange. Curious if the site on the SE side by the truck plant went live.
  8. Looks like another site is LTE active in Flint. New hits showing up in northern portions of the city.
  9. I forgot to mention that I did drive through Fenton and Holly proper yesterday to see the extent of reach the lte signal from the Belford Rd tower had into those towns. My EVO lte's scan hung up on trying to lock on but it ultimately wouldn't. I may try to get up that way to map an area bounded by N Holly Rd, Baldwin and Dixie Hwy down to Grange Hall Rd. Btw, that tower is located in a gravel pit and isn't readily accessible nor clearly visible from I-75 or Belford Rd.
  10. I think the site to watch for in the Flint area is on I-475 just north of the Maple Rd overpass in Burton. Just a hunch.
  11. That's me. I'm picking up the tower up on Belford/I-75 this far out. This part of Fenton and Holly is hilly and there is a huge bowl between me and points north. When my Airave is wonky, Netmonitor shows me hitting 3 towers in the Fenton area, 3 towers in the Holly area, Belford Rd/I-75 tower and E. Baldwin/US-23 tower. Believe me, I got my eyes on a handful of towers plus I asked people to give me heads-up on a few towers nearby when anything is going down. The only thing we got out this way is some fiber being buried in the vicinity of a tower on the northern side of the Fenton City limits (unconfirmed at this time it is intended for the tower) and a report from American Tower via a solid source that 4G work is being done at the tower located at NOCFA Station 3 (Rose Twp, Oakland County) but it was not indicated for which carrier.
  12. I've been too focused on downstate lately with the explosion of sites going live with LTE that I missed when TC showed up on the map. I have a trip to the Soo planned this summer so maybe there is hope that site will be upgraded by the time I get up that way.
  13. Crew working on the site in Charlotte at Island Hwy and I-69 as I drove by today. At 75mph, I was unable to see which operator was getting upgrades but Sprint is one of the four occupants of that site. Lansing area members might want to keep an eye on that.
  14. The tower at Belford and I-75 in northern Oakland county (between holly and grand Blanc) has active lte. Been having trouble with data signal in that area and Sprint's network page started showing updated work at that site so I've been keeping an eye on that one.
  15. My wife has been reporting a similar issue with her EVO LTE in a certain area. I can't reproduce the same result with mine. We were traveling from Ann Arbor to Kalamazoo via 94 so we were in and out of 4G during the trip. We were having problems with Slacker in transitional areas where her phone wasn't connected to 3G while it scanned for LTE. (I wasn't really able to verify with my phone since I was running Sensorly and LTE Discovery the whole trip.)
  16. I see a new blip of LTE on 475 just north of the 75/475 split in the Grand Blanc/Flint area. Seems a little far to be picking up the known site in Flint. The new hits are a lot closer to the site near 475 and Maple in Burton. Sensorly just isn't uploading from my phone tonight even when forcing it. I don't know if they're my hits or not since I was through there earlier this evening.
  17. Just out of curiosity...Did your travels have you on 94 before you headed up to Lansing? I'm wondering how LTE signal is at the 69/94 interchange.
  18. That and the EVO LTE is not a good LTE performer. I have difficulty now and then getting my phone kicked over to 4G in known LTE areas in Flint and Howell. I use the LTE Discovery app to automate the process so I'm not screwing with mode cycling and driving at the same time.
