According to a post by the sensorly people in the sensorly thread, sensorly averages the overlapping data when it is put on the map. So in other words it will take a few times of mapping the overlapping data to bring the average up and darken the purple on the map.

I regrettably spent a little time over at the sprint community forum this weekend end. Its ridiculous how pissed off and impatient some people are over there. It is almost depressing. Then you try and tell them so just calm down and be patient because lte is coming. Try explaining that Verizon's lte network(which they like to compare sprints to all the time) did not just appear over night. Its like they dont even read what you posted and they come at you like they are a mother bear and you just stole there newborn cub. Needless to say I gave up on those people. I knew better than to go back over there, but I did it anyway.

I would definitely consider purchasing this as well, When lte comes my way that is

im on a stock prl, 25010 shouldnt be an issue, i typically dont see more than about 50MB a month roaming. then again i rarely go over 150MB a month on sprint. thanks for the heads up though

This thread has cleared up a bit of confusion for me. I was in zip code 49887 today. The closest native sprint coverage is over 20 miles away there so obviously I was roaming. I was streaming pandora while driving and stopped to google something. I figured it would take forever being that I would be roaming on 1x and wasnt going to bother to kill pandora. To my amazement the webpage loaded instantly. So then I decided to run a speed test and pulled dowm just over 2 Mb. This is where I was confused because to my understanding 1x is not capable of that. After reading this thread my assumption is that my prl must allow me to roam 3g in this area

It seems a bit dumb to me that building permits are required for adding or replacing equipment on a tower. I can see it necessary for building a tower, or the little brick buildings that verizon and at&t like to house the cabinets in around here, or when extensive electrical work needs to be done. Alas, I guess it is what it is.

Am I right in assuming you have to be rooted to access the SystemUI.APK file. Or maybe Im not looking in the right spot because I cant find it

my dad has a flip phone, that has a set of bars for 1x and another set of bars for 3g. i am unsure of the make. i do know that it is a verizon phone. I would love to be able to have this, maybe even the option of putting whichever meters a person would prefer on the status bar

I just went to check out a local site so I could get a baseline of is there, so I can tell when work is done at the site. That poor tower is getting its but kicked.. 6 sets of antenna arrays. 6 different electric metes. at&t, cellcom(local provider that is partnered with verizon in the area, sprint, clearwire and nextel were all labeled on different meters. the 6th wasnt labeled and was attached to one tiny box and a very small array. no visible work was noticeable other than some digging for new lines to one of the little brick buildings. which i assume is for cellcom(verizon) because they just fired up lte here about a month ago. What I thought was cool is that if sprint/softbank acquire clear they will own half of that site Not sure if anyone cares about any of this but I felt like telling someone

I would have to agree. Before I moved up to a smartphone I never had a phone that wasn't free. When I decided to move up to a smart phone I had no issues ponying up $300 for my evo 4g and then $200 for my s3. You get what you pay for.

I have played with a htc 8x at best buy. I didnt hate it, but didnt like it either. I am not a fan of the tiles. Granted I only messed with it for about 5 minutes which isnt enough time to form much of an opinion. Not being open source is enough for me to not want to purchase it.

I agree, apple and/or android would really have to screw up there software for windows to get much of the market in my opinion.

It should work no problem. I did this with a friend of mine who has the evo lte. I have the gs3. Yes it will just share a link to the app in the play store as it will only use the "android beam" standard nfc tech which is very slow and only meant for transferring small amounts of data. You will not be ablt to transfer the actuall app files . S beam, which is what samsung devices use to transfer larger files.(pictures, videos etc) only uses the nfc part of the technology to create a wifi direct connection between the devices to transfer the larger files. Obvioulsy connected the devices directly to one another via wifi gives you a much faster transfer rate as well as increased range. I would have to imagine that sooner than later there will be an app that will allow all phones with nfc and wifi direct capability to do s-beam like transfers

I was actually surprised that my gs3 had no 4g splash screen when i turned it on and it does not say anything about 4g on the back like my og evo did. granted the evo was the first sprint 4g phone, even if it was wimax.

from what I understand the airrave utilizes your broadband service for data. If i am correct on this, and one is not having voice or text issues one would be just as well off with a wifi router

My gs3 came by ups on monday. Went to put the battery in and activate it. Felt like i was going to snap it in half pulling off the battery cover. Then I played with it for about and hour and didnt like how flimsy it felt in my hand. So I jumped in the car and went and picked up a defender. Much better feel now. Just doesn't feel anywhere near as tough naked as my og evo did
