When's the last time you checked? As of today, Google is no longer requiring invites to sign up for Fi (which is why they're putting the 5X on sale). Some articles I've seen about it are saying anyone in the U.S. can sign up now. I don't know if that means geographically or just referencing not needing an invite anymore. If you're interested in Fi, you may want to check again. it might be available to you now.

It seems like a legit document, but keep in mind the 910G is one of the international variants, not the Sprint model. Sprint's (910P) will likely get Marshmallow after that version. If April is when the update will start rolling out, it likely could be May/June, at the earliest, before Sprint's variant gets the update.

According to this Reddit thread Sprint has brought back 2-year contracts/subsidies for new customers (except for the 50% plans).

Has Sprint sold out of their pre-orders already? It won't let me order either the S7 or S7 Edge. When I click pre-order on the S7 page, it takes me to the page with all available phones. The S7 phones are there when the page first loads, then go away after a couple seconds. I'm on ED450, still in contract but eligible to upgrade on lease/Easy Pay.

Does the $10 loyalty credit apply with Galaxy Forever for people on legacy plans? I don't see it mentioned in the press release.

Oh, I didn't realize the plan already included it. So I guess it is a straight price increase then.

Yeah, I noticed they didn't list the price of the single line in the bulleted list at the beginning of the press release; they just listed "lowest price among all national carriers for a single line." Sprint probably doesn't want to highlight the fact that they're raising the price of a single line for the second time in about four months, At least they're adding 3GB of hotspot this time, which basically offsets the extra $5.

If Sprint is going to rely on the Sprint Zone app for reports of performance issues, they need to make the app available for all Sprint compatible devices, including unlocked BYOD phones, like Nexus phones and Moto X Pure.

Exactly. Every carrier does it. My point was don't single out AT&T for possibly doing it in the future when Sprint did do it within the last couple of weeks.

I'll agree that B41 coverage is also important. If someone buys an LTE Plus device expecting the speeds Sprint touts but doesn't live in an LTE Plus market, they're probably not going to be happy. I've had tri-band phones since October 2014, but there's still no B41 in my market so having the tri-band device doesn't really benefit me, except for the rare occasion when I travel somewhere that has it.

The article says users will "frequently" be shown ads so probably not every time, but I would expect there to be several ads per day. I'm curious if the data it takes to stream the ads would be counted against the subscriber's data bucket? I would hope not.

Changed my vote from 2-year contract to BYOD/pay in full. I couldn't resist ordering a Moto X Pure Edition from Amazon's deal of the day today. I had $100 in Amazon credit to use so $250 out of pocket for the 32GB model was the right price for me.

I'm seriously considering ordering one today with Amazon's sale. I have $100 in Amazon credit, so I'd be paying $250 for a 32GB MXPE. I just have to decide if it's enough of an upgrade from my Galaxy Note 4 to pull the trigger before it sells out.

Yeah, but I'd rather pay $200 upfront (or less, using gift cards as I mentioned above) when the phone's new rather than when it's 2 years old. If I leased, I likely wouldn't do that payoff to keep it because with the way Android phones lose their value, I could probably buy a replacement phone on the secondary market for less if something happened to the newer phone.

I've thought about switching to a lease, but I like keeping my phone after I upgrade as a backup in case something happens to my phone so subsidy is better for me.

I'm still on a ED450 plan so I voted 2-year contract. I typically upgrade at Best Buy and use gift cards I save up from birthday/holiday gifts and by the time I upgrade I usually have enough to cover most, if not all, of the upfront cost of the phone.
