  1. T-Mobile CEO John Legere: Mobile prices will go up if Sprint deal fails This is an interesting development...
  2. I always make sure to pick a non-carrier provided server. I usually use the same one every time that provides the fastest results.
  3. So I've noticed that my Speed Test app always seems to show faster speeds than what I'm actually getting. Just now Speed Test showed I was getting 14Mbps down. OpenSignal and Root Metrics were showing 4Mbps and 5Mbps respectively. My Twitter, reddit and Safari apps are running like I'm on a 5Mbps connection. Just this past weekend in Chicago, Speed Test was saying I was getting 5Mbps. OpenSignal and RootMetrics were showing <1Mbps and 1Mbps respectively and my apps were running like they would on a 1Mbps connection. Has anyone else noticed this? I wouldn't be surprised if they were prioritizing speed test connections.
  4. Do we have any estimates on when this will be fully rolled out? Also is this downlink only or downlink and uplink?
  5. Akron, OH - Median download speed increased from 22.7Mbps to 30.8Mbps. Baltimore, MD - Median download speed increased from 24.4Mbps to 32.8Mbps. Charlotte, NC - Median download speed increased from 14.7Mbps to 22Mbps. Des Moines, IA - Median download speed increased from 16.8Mbps to 23.8Mbps. Fort Meyers, FL - Median download speed decreased from 15.5Mbps to 8.6Mbps. Mobile, AL - Median download speed increased from 18Mbps to 29.9Mbps.
  6. Boost founder has already said he would pay $2b for the brand back.
  7. I can't find it. It was on a post on r/tmobile if I remember correctly.
  8. So apparently there are rumors that Sprint and T-Mobile got absolutely slaughtered today. Don't know if those rumors are true or not.
  9. PRL 33046 is older I believe so it probably won't roam in "Extended" areas.
  10. If anything at all it should help with the addition of T-Mobile roaming.
  11. That seems to be how the coverage map has been adjusted most places. They just cut around areas where there is native Sprint service. Why do we think they did this?
  12. If they refarmed UMTS/HSPA they would screw T-Mobile since T-Mo roams on ATT HSPA.
  13. So what happens when NY and CA don't drop? Won't the long legal battle essentially kill the merger at that point? Not the actual outcome of the case?
  14. Nevada drops out of state AG group suing to block Sprint, T-Mobile merger Attorney General Ford Negotiates Settlement for T-Mobile-Sprint Merger Prioritizing Nevada Jobs
  15. I don't want my 3G trimmed down. I get 2.5Mbps over it! Granted it only works if you have a good signal.
  16. So I went and tested. My iPad would not drop to AT&T roaming. It was hanging on to b26 for dear life. I went all around the building and it wouldn't drop. Before it would happily drop to AT&T roaming.
  17. I'm going to go test now on my iPad. There's a building where I always drop to AT&T roaming even though I'm 3/4 of a mile from the nearest Sprint tower. According to the coverage map this should be a no AT&T roaming area.
  18. Yep. I might be able to test actually.
  19. Something interesting I discovered is it still shows voice roaming in most of these areas.
  20. I'm noticing some new giant dead spots along I-29 in ND now. Central MN as well. Also SE MN, central MI, southern OH, parts of KY, VA, NC, SC, GA. It's like they just went in and carved some areas out. Seems like they cut out along major interstates. Maybe a cost saving measure to remove roaming?
