I just looked at the map and you're right. I counted roughly 10 locations with LTE Plus signal (meaning 10 sites total in Jacksonville.)

According to Reddit, it sounds like HTC may have implemented a subwoofer effect in the secondary (bottom) speaker. If this is true, it may truly separate them from the competition. That, and of course, if they finally fixed the camera to a point where it matches the competition.

If anything, the developers from the S7 will come here for the Snapdragon 820 goodness for root. HTC has been pretty good about opening up their locked bootloaders.

Interesting that they're waiting for so long for carrier coordination. This is probably the same reason a lot of unlocked phones do not support CDMA. If the BYOD policy for Sprint/Verizon were the same as T-Mobile/AT&T, this likely wouldn't happen (and with CSIM, it's entirely possible to replicate the same authentication/sim setup as its GSM partners.)

The duopoly didn't have unlimited data until recently. An unlimited data user uses far more than people on shared data plans. That is mainly how they are able to manage the capacity and also their 10x10 low band networks help tremendously as well.

I bet they replaced this with the listening tour. Marcelo seems to be really taking action in learning the pain points for customers. I would say they're doing a good job so far, considering 3xCA is now active on some sites.

I wish they'd show numbers at least. They just put percentages and don't say what areas of Miami or Jacksonville was tested. Very sketchy.

That is reassuring, to an extent. Even customer service representatives see tower upgrades in their upgrade checker application call Glance. And I know some upgrades show up in Glance up to 4 months in advance.

From Sprint's executive team, they have told me that Sprint does not have any major rollout plans at least around me in Eastern/Southern Jacksonville. This of course could have changed, but I have received an update on this only about two weeks ago.

From personal experiences, I can say T-Mobile on average is a lot quicker than Sprint but Sprint tends to hold a signal in more places in Jacksonville. The problem I believe Sprint has is the lack of B41 sites since their coverage is good but capacity needs work. And I expect to see Jacksonville start getting faster as NGN takes place. AT&T seems to have congestion issues too during peak hours, which I hope B29/30 help relieve that stress. Verizon seems to be doing fine with B4/B13.

Are you serious? The Nexus 5x has the speaker facing backwards in the device? I've already heard of the upside-down camera, but even the external speaker is backwards. What a ridiculous design!

Actually, the S7 supports bands 2, 4, 5, and 12 whereas the S5 does not. Of course, these are for roaming purposes so if you're in a Sprint market 100% of the time, it will not make a difference.

Is there a way to sort by markets that were recently added to 1H 2016 in RootMetrics? The old layout had the specific date it was posted so sorting the new releases with the old ones was a lot easier. I'm sure they are purposely omitting that information due to the outcry that their data is "out-dated."

I'm going based on posts I've read on Reddit. I actually recall someone checking their ESN eligibility on freedompop and it caused the device to be removed from Sprint's whitelist. Not sure why, maybe it was a coincidence, but there's no way to really find out. I used a $20 sim unlock service on my Sprint iPhone 6s to test the network around on other carriers. Works like a charm and Sprint will still reactivate it. But iPhones may be handled differently than the S6.

I've read stories of Sprint dropping the ESN from their whitelist when the device is activated on an MVNO such as Boost or RingPlus. This sounds like that type of scenario but usually a click-it ticket adds the esn back to their whitelist. Not really sure why Sprint would want to make it more difficult for users to join their network after going prepaid, but it is what it is.

I understand the band reconfiguration areas pending, but I'm talking about general coverage outside the IBEZ. Why are there holes in Sprint's LTE coverage on major highways? The other three carriers appear to be focusing on general coverage while Sprint's taking the metro-only approach. There should be a lot more expansion. If T-Mobile can do it with just 700Mhz 5x5, then Sprint can do it with 5x5 on B25 and B26. I won't bring AT&T/Verizon into discussion because they have other branches that benefit them (ISPs, backhaul providers, etc.) I'm not ranting at all, I am just curious how T-Mobile has managed to still be profitable while growing at such a rapid pace.

Does Sprint have any sort of deadline for 800Mhz buildout? It seems so unreasonable to have nationwide 14mhz and still be behind one of the four carriers in terms of coverage. I know PCS G block deadline is coming up for Montana (hence why Cedar is making progress now.) I am curious if there's any sort of geographic requirements in the SMR spectrum. That being said, I am glad Sprint is making efforts to allocate more usable spectrum in the PCS range. Some markets that are waiting for Nokia equipment should benefit greatly from the increase to 10x10 or 15x15 on B25.

Which this spectrum swap in numerous markets, I wonder how long it'll be before markets with only 5x5 on B25 become 10x10?

Looks like the site next to Lowes right off 295 and Old St Augustine Rd is about to get LTE B25/B26. That spot could really use some additional capacity.
