  1. Argghhh...they also mention further NGN funding will occur in 2017 to 2018. Hopefully the Jacksonville market is funded for 2016.
  2. Q1 results say the network is now 70% covered by 2.5Ghz B41. I get it maybe 50% of the time if I visit downtown but in the suburbs or southern Jacksonville, I do not see it at all. Jacksonville should get some love since it looks like they were the initial wave 2 of LTE deployments.
  3. It means network-wise, the network will be able to support 3xCA by then. The phones already support it, they just need to program the cell towers to broadcast and configure B41 for 3 channels.
  4. 300M customers covered. Maybe they struck new LTE roaming agreements? I haven't seen any native coverage increase on their map is quite awhile, definitely not 30M pops added.
  5. Carriers have always had lackluster releases imo. Everything's so unorganized when it comes to device releases.
  6. Here you go. https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=97dlNMvb1V3zJcKcL%2BsnUw%3D%3D&fcc_id=NM82PS6400
  7. I just checked local permits. Looks like a ton of AT&T and Verizon b66 will be active in Jax soon.
  8. It says 8.3mbps for median speeds on the download for Jacksonville, but this was about 6 months ago. The 1H 2016 should be posted any day now.
  9. Does Masa Son still have this stance? Via http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-06/we-need-scale-softbanks-masayoshi-son-on-sprint-t-mobile-and-alibaba
  10. Heck, those of us who pre-ordered the unlocked edition on announcement day are still waiting!
  11. Lower frequencies require larger panels since it needs to broadcast different wavelengths. This is why you see most of Verizon/AT&T panels being huge. So yes, no 800 voice for that site unless new panels are added that support it.
  12. You as well see that Sprint needs capacity here? I don't believe the median RootMetrics speeds for this market for a second!
  13. Typically ground mounted radios lets the carrier re-use the original panels, so GMO towers don't have the added benefits of the new panel equipment. It's cheaper and in many cases easier to get up and running. But they can still be fed any source of backhaul. EvDo I believe is fed by ethernet backhaul.
  14. What makes you say this? Looking at Sensorly (which doesn't exactly have all of the coverage mapped), it does show additional coverage, especially within the Dakotas.
  15. Why the heck isn't there more 10x10 B25 sites, especially out west then? That is crazy that Sprint has waited this long to finally start rolling out a 2nd B25 carrier.
  16. Well I'll keep the local permits open and check that as permits start popping up. Sprint density could use work but I do think if Sprint focused on rolling out B41 and configuring B26 to be the band to connect to indoors/edge of coverage, things can be a lot better. Sprint's B26 has never reached anywhere near their 3G coverage, despite it being capable.
  17. Sprint capacity has gotten worse. They are still great for calls/texting, but data really needs improvement. There are times where loading even Google Maps becomes a hassle.
  18. Going to be over 70M customers by the end of 2016. That, to me is crazy! T-Mobile is definitely earning its share of the market with its game-changing industry moves. I have been trying out T-Mobile in Jacksonville with my second line and it is working really well. I haven't tried Verizon or AT&T but I believe T-Mobile may function just as well as, if not better than the big two because I am on LTE 99% of the time, and when I'm not, it's still a very usable HSPA connection. May just move everyone over soon because having voice+data at the same time is useful for my wife who is a realtor.
  19. And this includes MetroPCS numbers, which specifically targeted Sprint. Not bad at all.
  20. Median speed is 0.6mbps for El Paso? That is completely unacceptable!!! And I thought North Florida has it bad. At least some areas have 5+mbps.
  21. So you are seeing a lot of upgrades in Ocala? I know that is kind of between Orlando and Jacksonville.
  22. While 2-3 MBps is definitely usable, it brings up another question. How much bandwidth is that going to support if there's a number of people wanting to stream video over EvDo?
