Apparently the next update for the Active will be coming out 11/27, since I received a notification about Calling Plus discontinuation. Perfectly fine with me, because quite a few times a caller couldn't hear me when I was connected with Calling Plus over LTE. I'm not sure if it was buggy on this phone or it is an issue with CP in general.

Does SMS and MMS work over Wi-Fi? Sent from my SM-G892U using Tapatalk

Apparently Wi-Fi calling is working on the Pixel 3. Wonder if that will come to the 2.

Someone on Reddit claimed that Sprint was pushing the latest update out only to those in VoLTE soft launch markets. Is this true?
-
I use the S8 Active which I know seems to be a much less popular device so I'm posting here.. it skipped July security update, now has August.
-
Same here. Maybe it is a symptom of the WI market we are both in... or it just isn't very good.

Official Tmobile-Sprint merger discussion thread

Technically the S8 Active does since 71 was added to it vs the regular S8 and is in the identical (except software) T-Mobile version. -

Let's face it.. the big reason why any of us S4GRU people would want this merger to go through is we know T-Mobile would move in a rapid pace, quicker than Sprint ever has, getting B41 on all sites. Sometimes I feel like it would take T-Mobile to get B41 on all sites, and I'm not just talking about ones in the middle of nowhere. TM has been bragging about their B71 expansion and how many sites in a week they have completed. Has Sprint ever been able to brag like this? -

So what would be needed to use T-mobile on roaming? I assume both firmware and PRL? iPhone and Samsung S7 or later should be relatively easy. Sent from my SM-G892U using Tapatalk -

Oreo finally here! Sent from my SM-G892U using Tapatalk

Oreo SHOULD be coming soon for this.. both AT&T and T-Mobile have released theirs in the last few days.

Unfortunately the S8 Active will probably have poorer sales at this point because the guts are a S8 vs a S9 I love mine.. battery life is amazing. With light use at work and plugging it in to my car for Android Auto (which does some charging) I’m usually not even plugging it in at night. Hopefully Oreo comes soon.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173170911809 That is the one I bought. 99% new.. Just a small little scratch on screen. Make sure you get a screen protector.. Very easy to scratch since it is plastic. Best of all.. YMMV.. Samsung states in warranty through 2/19 Sent from my SM-G892U using Tapatalk

Anyone else own this? Just picked up on ebay and liking so far. Great battery life. As Flossy Carter says on his YouTube review, this is a Man's Phone! Sent from my SM-G892U using Tapatalk

May want a screen protector. The screen on that and the Motorola are very easy to scratch because they are plastic. I just ordered an S8 Active on eBay, $430.

Everyone given up on this phone it seems? Right now there's s $20/mo lease deal on it.

I would think though that once Sprint switches to real VoLTE it'll be supported. Whenever that happens...

I'm not sure how the speed tests could be "doctored" Sprint for the most part held up fine except in the half time speed test, but their upload speeds were very low. (in fact in the end of 1st quarter test it struggled to get to 1mbps) T-Mobile did a number of live speed tests with four phones. Does the new config do anything beneficial other than make the download speeds look cooler but the uploads quite small in comparison? All a Sprint naysayer is going to see now is the sub 10 mbps upload.
