Does this suggest a Sprint rural expansion?
That's a good question. Free broadband for poor and rural areas...except Sprint's rural coverage is not very good.
-
Im thinking this might be it..
That's probably it.

That'll be dope if purchasing US Cellular was apart of the announcement.

I was be AWESOME if they purchased USC (my parents live in their coverage, with no Sprint coverage), but I don't see how that would be personal for him. Definitely business though.

The Sprint coverage map was updated today. A lot of the area around Cleveland that were 3G are now filled in with "Best" LTE coverage. I'll have to go around and test those areas and see if it's real.

No, not quite right. VZW is the only US operator that will sell the handsets directly. The unlocked handsets sold through the Google Store will be compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and most/all major world operators.

Oh cool. Thought I don't know why anyway would get the VZW version over the unlocked version.

I may have unintentionally uncovered 10x10 LTE carriers on B25 on the west side and downtown yesterday. I found it via my logs. I have a rooted device, so SCP also logs EARFCNs. 8640 download EARFCN showed up at sites in Rocky River, Lakewood and one downtown. Does anyone out there have an engineering screen that shows the bandwidth? I'd like to verify that this is indeed the 10x10 carrier that's all the rage in Columbus. Speed tests could do it too provided upload is around 20 Mbps or greater.
Try *#0011#
This works on my GS6. It shows the bandwidth there.

Another update out today. It looks like just the Sept Google security update.
-
Yeah, I don't think that by May 2017 they will be #1 or #2 in performance. At their pace, in a few more years maybe.
-
This sounds like this spectrum will not be commercially deployed for at LEAST 5 years from now. What do you guys think?

In SCP, I just saw B413 for the first time yesterday (I'm in the Cleveland, OH area). When Sprint adds more B41 channels (4, 5,6, etc), would SCP have to be updated to for it to know that it's the 4th, 5th, etc channel?

I just saw B413 for the first time in my Signal Check Pro app yesterday. It was in the Mayfield Heights area.

We are looking at a two year subsidy upgrade for both her and my Dad. They won't let me buy them phones and they don't have $400 to shell out for phones. Neither are power users, just Facebook, pictures, games, etc. I know the S6 is a generation old, but at $49.99 for a 64gb phone, it will be more than enough space for their use. I'd be shocked if it didn't get a 7.0 or 7.1 upgrade.
I wouldn't be shocked at all if they DIDN'T get 7.0 or 7.1. I'm not expecting it. But I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

Still good for me. Snappy and still get relatively good updates. Running Mashmallow 6.0.1

How is the Galaxy S6 holding up? I'm thinking about getting one from Best Buy for my mom to replace her S4T. 64GB model for only $49.99 (two year contract upgrade).
It's still working pretty well for me also. It doesn't hold a weak signal as well as my GS5 did, but it's not horrible.

Ah, ok
Band 66 isn't specific to Dish; Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular all bid on Band 66.
Band 70 is Dish-specific, I think.

Did anybody notice that the Sprint version is the only one that doesn't support B66 (Dish network's band).

Is it the Sept patch?

It is the August patch.

The iPhone for Life deal that was available in December said that when the new device came out, they would be upgrade eligible, so their account should say that on September 1st, they became upgrade eligible. Whereas once they upgrade to the iPhone 7, they will move to the new iPhone Forever deal, where they have to make 12 consecutive lease payments before they become upgrade eligible again.
-Anthony
Oh, ok. Thx.

I know someone that got their iPhone 6S in December 2015, when Sprint was doing the iPhone for Life deal (where you can get the new iPhone as soon as it comes out).
So, they should be able to get this new iPhone with no problems, correct? Also, would they pay the same monthly lease price? And when they come out with the iPhone 8 next year, will they still be able to upgrade immediately when that comes out?

Unless someone made a mistake, big miss by Apple today.
2 SKUs, one CDMA and one GSM, for each of the iPhone 7/7 Plus models. No more universal phone.
Interesting. So the Sprint and VZW version won't have global GSM roaming.

My phone is installing a new update right now. It's not listed on the Sprint community website though. It said something about batter usage optimization and security update. It was only 44 MB.

Hopefully all of Las Vegas will be flooded with B26 LTE before the end of 2017 especially on The Strip and McCarran Airport.
I would hope their whole network would be flooded with B26 by then.

Well looks like Verizon just flipped the switch on LTE-A in 450 cities today. This pretty much CA correct? I do like the silent approach they took with it not saying nothing about it and just randomly pop up with the news. This is pretty much the same approach Sprint is taking but we all know because it's Sprint it gets twisted in a bad way.

Yeah, I just saw the article. Good job VZW.

For me it's appearing in the plan optimizer section since it's cheaper than my current plan.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
The plan optimizer hasn't worked for me for many months. I just get this message:
Sorry we're unable to analyze your plan. However, we want to help you get the most out of it. Visit My Sprint and let's chat about it.
